Re: Game Thread: Skins @ Bucs 11/13/05
RedskinRat - let's get realistic. Look at the Bucs schedule, we're the first team with a winning record that they beat. That defense is good, but not even close to #1 callibre.

Re: Game Thread: Skins @ Bucs 11/13/05
and bad enough to give up 36.

Like I care at the moment. I don't want to hear "We weren't good enough" when the refs are the Bucs 12th man. At what point are people going to acknowledge that the refs don't call it fair? That was PIVOTAL, whether it "Shouldn't come down to it" or not, FFS!:mad: |

Yeah, I'm a Redneck cos I'm not an apologist for shitty officiating... |
Re: Game Thread: Skins @ Bucs 11/13/05
Was it Walt Harris's fault or the Redskins for not resigning Fred Smoot and preventing this problem.
|
Re: Game Thread: Skins @ Bucs 11/13/05
Anyone here think the catch early on was a push out of bounds? IT'S NOT JUST ONE CALL IN A GAME!
|
Re: Game Thread: Skins @ Bucs 11/13/05
MAN like it or not the refs have to be blamed for this game alstot was NOT IN!!! good lord people wake up!
|
Re: Game Thread: Skins @ Bucs 11/13/05
It was the difference in the game...it cost the game, I'm not saying it wasn't big, but they should have blown the damn Bucs out. All they had to do was not give the ball away early and it wouldn't have mattered.

Seen Smoots productivity in Minn? Maybe Pierce, not Smoot. |

Go back over game film, I have. It works out at a (conservative) 70/30% ratio against the Skins. |
Re: Game Thread: Skins @ Bucs 11/13/05
we blitz and dont get to the QB at all, just leaves ppl open
|
Re: Game Thread: Skins @ Bucs 11/13/05
Hey redskinsrat time to deal with reality. You cant blame the refs every week.We turn the ball over at bad times and cant stop anybody when it counts. Were just not that good period.

Re: Game Thread: Skins @ Bucs 11/13/05

So What.....we had no Sacks, no Ints and you saying the Refs blew that call, stay on your fucking side of the line and maybe go into overtime and try to pull it off, you put them at the 1 and its the Refs fault.......... :censored: |

great idea........ then you can go to the stadium and run ove the Refs :yeahright |
Re: Game Thread: Skins @ Bucs 11/13/05
atleast the giants lost, and the falcons lost...we didnt lose any ground but we should have gained ground. our defense was crap, absolute crap.

Re: Game Thread: Skins @ Bucs 11/13/05
Overlooked in all this is Frost's awful punt at the end of the game. What was it, like 35 yards? Put Tampa in great field position. Terrible play by Frost
|
Re: Game Thread: Skins @ Bucs 11/13/05
that just made the game winner a little shorter.

Yep! Something told me that it was time for a poor punt like that, and Frost went exactly by the script. :vomit: |
Re: Game Thread: Skins @ Bucs 11/13/05
There is no way in hell that we should ever give up 36 points to anyone. Our defense is just not good enough to control the game. Last years D +this years O = a playoff team no problem. This team I could see could make the playoffs but need to sto dicking around and start dominating on Defense. I think with the way the NFC is now and every one losing and the balance we could get in with 9 wins. We should only lose 2 more games if we play like we can.
|
Re: Game Thread: Skins @ Bucs 11/13/05
all you people and your "one play does not make a game" crap. I understand the idea, but the 2-point conversion play WAS the game. Everyone knew it. If they made it the Skins had a long shot of coming back. If they missed it the game was over. It was HUGE. It determined the game and the skins stopped him. The refs blew it big time. And I love the " Skin's defense can't stop anyone"... THEY DID!!!!!! THEY DID, that's the whole point. THEY STOPPED ALSTOT WHEN THEY NEEDED TO!!!!!

I dont care that we lost. It was a great game regardless.

Re: Game Thread: Skins @ Bucs 11/13/05
Now we know a few things about this team.

The defense is solid and disciplined, but not "great." The Skins played highly entertaining "away" games that kept us on the edge of our seats until the last play, but lost. DEnver, KC, Tampa; great defenses take two of those games. Not enough STOPS!!! :banghead:
Defensive starters are solid, but depth is suspect. This is a different game -- and Alstott's goal line carries get a different result -- if Taylor plays. (Gawd, I hope he is found "not guilty")
The offense is now better than the defense. They came from behind and scored 28 points on the number one defense and still lost. :banghead: :banghead:
The Skins are not good enough on either side of the ball to overcome mistakes. It seems the 1980s Redskins could over come their mistakes, not that they made that many.
The refs did not blow the call! To overturn a touchdown on the last play, they needed to see the ball on the video tape. We could see Alstott's body and could assume that Alstott had not cross the line. NO WAY were the refs going to overturn a score on an assumption/presumption/guess/probability. The tape was not conclusive enough. (Duck & covering now.)
We lost because we let Tampa drive 60+ yards down field to score a TD in the last two minutes when they had no time outs. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
I haven't given up on this team, but 9-7 or 10-6 might not get a wild card. 2006 is the year. I still hope for the best for the team and will just enjoy the progress.
