RedskinRat, they scored 21 points in the last Monday night game with Vinny Testaverde at QB. And that was with our vaunted D, which included Fred Smoot and Antonio Pierce. Don't overestimate our defense based on their performance against the Bears. I'll agree they're the saving grace for our team this year, but Bledsoe is hot and not nearly as immobile as everyone has said, Jones is a good running back (though I do believe we will stuff their running game), and Witten, Crayton, Johnson and Glenn will prove to be too much to handle. Plus, as good as our D is, we have trouble pressuring the QB without a blitz. Trust me, Bledsoe has seen every blitz package imaginable, and he will adjust to it perfectly. None of this even accounts for the fact that Parcells has always had Gibbs' number, and the Cowboys have always had the Redskins' number -- no matter how good Washington is or how bad Dallas is. I hope I'm wrong, but they're going to clobber the Redskins Monday night. |
Re: Dallas Score Predictions
Skins: 20
Dallas: 10 ****************************** Brunell has a solid but not spectacular performance Portis 108 yds. - When Portis is over the century mark we are undefeated! |
Re: Dallas Score Predictions
Skins 16, Cowboys 13.
Offensive player of the game: Portis w/ 150 all-purpose yards and a TD. Defensive player of the game: Griffin w/ a sack or two, several hurries and a force fumble. |

Their back-up is Romo, who I expect to see him early in the 3rd. As we're in our second season of the same scheme of D so I look for an increase, not a plateau or decrease. Taylor isn't a rookie anymore, our corners, far from being worse for the loss of Bailey and Smoot seem to have gotten better. Our D line are overachievers of the highest calibre and I hope soon that people start treating them like stars. The LB corps.....Ooooooh, Lordy! As for them having our number, I see it like the passing of the Ice Age (although I'm not actually old enough to talk from experience) in that we are due our turn of dominance. I think that the team is entering its warming phase, soon to be tropical. Let's all enjoy the balmy days ahead. |
Re: Dallas Score Predictions
Redskins - 14
Cowboys - 13 -------------- FINAL Cowboys wil have the ball last ahd will be driving for a score when Taylor intercepts a Bledsoe pass in the end zone intended for Terry Glenn. |
Re: Dallas Score Predictions
I hate to do this, but ... even at the risk of being a called a "so-called fan", here's my prediction:
Cowboys 27 Redskins 6 The 'boys put 28 points on a good Charger defense in San Diego, while we were good for 9 against the Bears with home field advantage. Last year, with Testaverde at QB, the Cowboys had no problem getting 21 points through the air with almost no running game, and somehow Dallas always seems to be able to stuff our run whether it's Stephen Davis or Clinton Portis, who last year, was a non-factor. To me, it doesn't look good for the Skins at all.
Sadly, Beemnseven, I think you're right on the money. :( I don't think it will matter whether Ramsey or Brunell is the quarterback in this one. Ramsey would get eaten alive by their blitz, and Brunell's not aggressive enough to punish the Dallas D for clamping down on Portis like a pack of wild dogs. I also watched the Chargers game last weekend, and Dallas impressed me-- particularly their offense. The Redskins defense is still good, but I don't like the offense's chances against the Dallas D. The offense won't be able to sustain drives or maintain possession long enough to keep the defense fresh, and Parcells will just start wearing them down with the running of Julius Jones. Of course, the Skins could do the same thing to Bledsoe that the Cowboys would've done to Ramsey: ship him out of the stadium in a body bag. Both QBs are sitting ducks to a blitz-happy defense. If the Redskins decommission Bledsoe, they have a chance. Otherwise, I see Bledsoe making just enough big plays through the air to keep the defense honest and give Jones enough wiggle room on the ground to wear down the defensive front. This game is in Dallas. It's Parcells knowing every move Gibbs is going to make. It's the recent history of Dallas dominance over Washington. It's the blind referees that always seem to follow Washington around to every crucial matchup. It's the one game that I dread every year, because the next day I inevitably have to face all those pompous, sneering Cowboy fans and hear "how 'bout them Cowboys?" hollered across the office building every time the game is brought up in conversation. It's not going to be any different this year. Cowboys 27, Redskins 6. |

Re: Dallas Score Predictions
If we can hold the cowturds under 14 we can win. That being said we win 17 - 13. Portis gets over 100 yards to maintain the streak of getting over a hundred yards and winning.

Its not about faith, its about the truth. I hope he's wrong too but if we cant find the end zone we are finished. I hear what you're sayin, the only problem is when your team has lost 16 out of 17 to the Boys, at some point you become, well, realistic. Dallas, right now, just looks like the better team. I hope Im wrong, I pray Im wrong, but I think 24-13 Cowboys is realistic. Man I hate saying that, but our O has shown us nothing improved upon from last year......yet, I hope. |
Re: Dallas Score Predictions
14-10 to the Skins. No turn overs and D holds them to one TD. 2 Portis runs will do it in that case. Brunell sure isn't going to light up the night Sky!
|
Re: Dallas Score Predictions
I predict a Dallas win. Don't even care about the score. I just hope we don't look aweful, because you know what that means. 2 full weeks of you know what(I'm not even going to type it cause I'm so sick of hearing it)
Also, I don't think Dallas is as good as they looked either. Chargers without Gates is like Minnosota without Moss, or Eagles without TO. Big time downgrade. He's that important to that team. |
Re: Dallas Score Predictions
Their defense isn't as good statistically. I know our offense shouldn't be as good as SD's as they return eleven players on both sides of the ball (minus Gates for the opener) but, we should be able to put the ball into the end zone against DAL. It won't be so easy for DAL to do the same against us. :oink:

whats up Blue Star here checking in from cowboysboard.com Theres nothing with being honest with yourself. When the cowboys played the eagles monday night last season I knew they were gonna get killed and they did. Final Cowboys 31 Skins 10 |
Re: Dallas Score Predictions
This is a skins fan site, but that doesn't mean we should all just throw trends and stats to the wind and pick the Redskins to win. We couldn't score a TD against the Bears and we controlled the ball all game, we won't have the luxury vs Dallas and while Dallas's defense isnt as good as the Bears, I expect us to maybe get one TD.
I hope I'm wrong and we light it up, but I haven't seen anything from the offensive side of the ball (players or play callers) that make me feel comfortable in our offense. There's only so much even the greatest defenses can do if they're tired. |

Re: Dallas Score Predictions
I think what a lot of people are overlooking is the fact Williams coached Bledsoe for two years in Buffalo, so it's the old story of pupil vs. teacher.
This could definitely be a big advantage for our D. Anyone who thinks Bledsoe is going to have a repeat performance of his week 1 showing is sadly mistaken in my opinion. |
Re: Dallas Score Predictions
I'm hoping for one of those performances from our D much like John Gruden had the Bucs ready for his old team in the SB v. Raiders/QB Rich Gannon.
People have been saying how we didn't put much pressure on Orton, I don't think we really came after him until the second half. |
Re: Dallas Score Predictions
we confused orton gave him so many looks that he couldn't make a good decision. That why as the game progressed his vision tunneled strickly to muhammed. it was a good strategy

Against a mid round rookie playing in his 1st NFL game along with Muhammed as their only legitimate receiving option, no TE or running game, its a solid strategy |
My MNF Prediction
This game for the Skins' is going to say a lot about how successful the Skins' are going to be this year. Beating Dallas in their house on MNF would not only be a big win but a huge confidence booster.
My prediction is the Skins' come out on top 13-7. I don't think we will get much offense but they will reach the end zone. The defense will pressure Bledsoe and contain Jones and force at least 2 turnovers. Go Skins'!!!!! |

Well, I dispute that Chicago has no running game: Jones rushed for 1000 yards last year despite not starting every game - much like his baby brother Julius - and I suspect their rookie RB Benson will garner some attention before the year is out. |
