That would be unfortunate, especially if it means he'll miss more games. But the trade was never for just this year. Maybe he just needs to sit for the next couple weeks and hopefully be ready for the Playoffs.

I think with the small sample size we have, it is apparent that he can be a difference maker for this team for the next couple years.
The Lions coach was doing hi post game presser when you could hear the locker room erupt in cheers. A reporter told him they were cheering the Commanders win over the Eagles. It was kind of funny.
Apparently Lattimore reinjured his hammy , so far this trade been a wet fart
His hamstrings are made of taint.

I think we have been adopted as de-facto Lions fans the rest of the season unless we go on an epic playoff run.
Yes but the problem is this has been going on for more than this year. He has missed a ton of games over the last couple years on top of this year. The writing was already on the wall. After 3 years of this you need to ask yourself why next year is going to be different?
It might not be, but I mean he had a lacerated kidney in 2022, a pretty serious ankle injury last year, and now he's dealing with a hammy. Three pretty distinct injuries.

It does look like he had a history of hamstring injuries back in College 9-10 years ago. If the current hamstring issues are related to those in College, it's probably concerning. If not, then maybe he's just been a little unlucky...?

Either way, I think the point is that we didn't sign him as the final missing piece needed for a SB run this year. I think this was more for the next couple years. They must have been A-ok with his medicals or I don't see this new regime signing him at all. That doesn't mean he will remain healthy though... it's a tough sport.

I was trying so hard to imagine what his hamstrings are made out of. I wound up deleting and changing the comment entirely because I could not think of the right word. It was right there waiting for me. Damn you and Shakespearean ways.

I absolutely agree the move was as much long term as much short term, if not even more so.
A serious ankle injury can lead to hamstring injuries though. I hope to hell he is 100 percent healthy next year.

Actually Keim touched on his injury history on one of his podcast

it seemed like a lot of his injuries he didn't like how the saints handle them, there was something in particular a year ago or so that really soured their relationship; so after that if Latt had a hang nail he won't play

I got think he like playing for Quinn and this franchise most seem too, i just think hammys are tricky

Re: IGGLES POSTGAME THREAD

The few times they have played it sound like Lattimore has done a very good job against Brown. Brown was due for a decent game. Regarding the DPIs, give credit to Brown for selling them well. I might not like it, but drawing penalties is part of the game now. It's like flopping in the NBA, QBs, punters, WRS all do it.

I do worry about Lattimore and his taintstrings. The longer you go without doing something the harder it is to do it and he hasn't played more than 10 games in a season since 2021 and only 16 games twice in his career. That said I think the trade was fine. We have the space, the odds of a 3rd, 4th and 6th getting the same production next year as Lattimore are slim. I would prefer if we went for a CB that was a bit more healthy even if the ceiling was lower but I am not sure if the FO was even looking at another before the deadline.

Late to the thread, but:

The kid makes everyone better, even in a game with that many TOs. Amazing. Imagine if we don't give the ball to the iggles all those times? Yes, Hurt was out, but we did not play well and we still pulled it out. Winning is a big deal.

We are still a number of pieces away from a contender. Lattimore is a good player if healthy (and those PIs were bull shit, imo), but he's just a piece to build and not make or break. We're a few years out still, I think, But the buzz is here now. JD can ball. And it's fun to be in DC for the first time in so frickin long!!!

Their fans are crying about the Commanders defeating them with their backup quarterback...

Sports brings out my creativity. Otherwise, I'm so basic lol.

I've watched the highlights of this game so many times, I've lost count.

I went from raging when we let them get the lead back to pure jubilation/shock when Crowder caught that ball.

It's so hard to get the doomsday scenarios out of my head after the last 30 years of trauma.

It really is the dawn of a new era. Damn, it's nice having a stud QB.

This is a year to year league, and with our cap space and draft cache we should be in the SB discussion next year with JD5
(I haven't ruled out SB this year, but man would that be a doozy!)

Sirianni was talking shit to Zach Ertz after the game. He was smart enough to apologize to Ertz via Zoom call this week though.

Follow up on the Ertz/Sirianni brush. Ertz went in for the handshake, could tell Sirianni was pissed off so he did a high five instead. Sirianni didn't like the intensity of it so he started talking shit because Ertz had only one catch during the game (paraphrasing but it was something along the lines of "you didn't contribute squad to that win").

To Sirianni's credit he apologized later. Not a good look for him though.
