Daniel Jones likely to Indy or Minny:

They are having an open competition. Can he beat out, Anthony Richardson? He got $14 million. |

I think it's safe to assume that Jones will be the starter. Richardson is not even close to being a legit starter. |

Re: The annual QB carousel
Could Cousins be the odd man out?
Falcons are fine paying him the bonuses they owe him and be the most expensive backup ever. Rodgers will go to Steelers, Vikings or Giants or just retire. Wilson has to wait on what Farve does, but he could remain with Steelers or go to Giants or Browns. Could 49ers balk on paying Purdy and try to bring in Rodgers or try to pry Kirk from Falcons? Kirk could be odd man out. I see only 49ers or Browns as options. Maybe Giants? The vet qb market is waiting on Rodgers. |

Freudian slip? I'd say 49ers would be daft to not stick with Purdy. He may not be the long term solution but he's got a higher ceiling than Cousins at this point. |
Re: The annual QB carousel
Seahawks can get get out if Darnold’s contract after a year; so this is basically a one year tryout. If he plays like his last 2 games, Seahawks will move on.

There really isn't that much of a drop off between Dak and Rush.. At what point do these teams tell these QB's to take a hike? If I were the 49ers brass I'm just going to pass. I'll go get one of the vets, pay less and get similar results. Just cause you're the next guy up means you keep pushing the market up? I just don't get that. Right now there are really 4 guys that are worth that kind of money. Mahomes, Jackson, Allen and Burrow. |
Re: The annual QB carousel
WTF are the Seahawks doing? They get rid of Geno Smith for Sam Darnold? Aren't they kinda the same guy?

Re: The annual QB carousel
Jameis Winston signed a 2 year, 8 million dollar deal with Giants. He can groom a rookie qb, if they draft one.

Nabers is going to have a great season with Winston. |
Re: The annual QB carousel
As a FSU fan, this is lame. I want to pull for him, but fuck the Giants every day.
|
Re: The annual QB carousel
Winston is just good enough to keep the Giants from a top 5 pick. Win for the division.
|
Re: The annual QB carousel
It's nice to see we improved our secondary's INT chances by influencing the Giants QB selection...

Re: The annual QB carousel
The Winston move just means they will take Sanders or Ward for sure now

Russell Wilson signs a 1 year 10.5 million guaranteed deal with Giants, with a chance to earn up to 21 million.

Not sure I see the logic here unless a) they are not going QB with their pick or b) want to trade down or c) they're freaking idiots. |

They have to hope Browns don’t take a qb but really , it’s better to suck in 25 to get Archie in 26. Yeah, they will have to trade up; but the QBs this year aren’t that good. Wilson and Winston aren’t going to win much. Giants still have a Top 10 pick in 26 and then trade up for that qb. Giants could still take a qb in lower rounds and later cut Winston. |
Re: The annual QB carousel
I think this says that the NYG don't feel Sanders is worth being picked at #3. I don't blame them really. Titans are most likely taking Ward at #1, so the Giants are going w/ a couple of vets, Russ and Winston.
This just feels like a really weak QB draft. Especially compared to last year. Sanders can make all the throws but he takes so many sacks, he holds on to the ball forever at times. He is a 2nd rounder or late first type of guy. After Ward and Sanders, it just seems like a big drop off. Milroe from Bama? He is terrible. Wil Howard? Nice college player but he is a late round project kind of guy. Seems like a product of a super team. |
Re: The annual QB carousel
Sounds like it'll be a Winston-Wilson battle at qb for the Giants. Agree that NY doesn't take Sanders. Rodgers should be going to Steelers soon also.
|

Cowturd thinks Rodgers is waiting for 49ers. 49ers aren’t going to give Purdy the money and sign Aaron. I think he will sit and wait for Minny to decide, they need him and that JJ isn’t ready. |

Not a good draft year to need a QB. |
Re: The annual QB carousel
rogers is such a clown. I hope he's either a back up or out of the league this year.

We already know that "c" is true as proven by the fact that the same clowns who have been screwing things up there for years are still making decisions. I suppose they think that Wilson will be the interim starter and mentor to a young QB who they draft this year. |

I can't imagine any NFL organization, especially Pittsburgh, that could trust him enough to pay him. He is incredibly selfish and his skills have eroded to the point that he cannot take any team to the playoffs. |
Re: The annual QB carousel
My issue with Rodgers is he hasn't even been that good the last 2 years. Minny is literally choosing a qb with 0 experience in McCarthy over him. I'm not signing him now if I need a qb.

Re: The annual QB carousel
Derick Carr has a shoulder injury and surgery could wipe out his season. Another spot for Rodgers and maybe Cousins.

Starting to think they may nab one at pick 9 (Sanders if available, Dart) and roll with him.

Re: The annual QB carousel
Illustrates the difference between AR and Brady. After Brady’s last season, if he reversed himself and decided to unretire, how long would it take before he got signed? Less time than it took me to type this.
AR is a diva and washed up. Would be awesome if the Steelers and Saints prospected elsewhere. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: The annual QB carousel
With Cam Ward and Jackson Dart taken by Titans and Giants; still time for movement on Cousins/Rodgers front.
Shedeur Sanders could still be taken by teams in 2nd round. Browns could draft him. Saints could draft him. Rams could draft him. Finally, Steelers could draft him. I can’t see him sliding to 3rd round. So someone will take him. Whoever doesn’t take him, could they have interest in Rodgers; if he doesn’t sign with Pittsburgh? Cousins could now wave his no trade clause; so Falcons can trade him. Will be interesting what happens. |
