Re: Election Day November 5,2024
Well, hate and fear won out. Dems have to figure out how to overcome the ignorance and frankly stupidity of a country that elects a convicted felon. Might be too late.
For all the Reddit-information libs on the site who will blame misogyny and racism immediately:
The inconvenient truth is Harris did worse with women and minorities. Trump will likely hit record highs with minorities percentages. The gig is up.
Some of it was a bit of misogyny (My step daughters fiancé specifically stated he wouldn't ever vote for a woman) but that is baked in, but mostly from what I got it was the extreme wokeness that was perceived by them as being driven Democrats (which was mostly true - basing many moves on ideology and not on data - such as Trans rights, renaming stuff, identity politics etc). |

Re: Election Day November 5,2024
Main culprits in the Dem loss aren't Republicans. The loss is primarily on Biden for deciding to run for reelection in the first place followed by Harris for moving left (ie Walsh pick) when she already had the perception of being too far left and the Dems in general for not comprehending wokeness is intensely disliked by many of the minorities they had relied on (That trans commercial saying she was for They/Them and Trump was for you was extremely effective).
Biden should not have ran. Dems would have had an open race and likely one of the govs would be nominee. I think Dems won’t pick a woman for a long time. If we do get a female president, it will be a Republican woman. There’s still a chance Dems win house, which would provide a block on some of the troubling agenda Trump wants to pursue. I personally believe some of Trump’s agenda will have a negative impact not a positive impact like he thinks. If he gets what he wants and his agenda does have a negative impact; I won’t feel sorry for his voters that are negatively impacted. They voted him in;so deal with it. |

Step 1 - they need to analyze how Kamala lost 15 million votes from Biden in 2020. That's terrible. |

she was an emergency candidate the last 4 years have been rough on everyone's wallet she had a summer to prepare trump has been pumping his campaign for 4 years America is not ready for a female to sit in their highest seat i told my son (16) this morning trump won, he first went ugh then said at least gas will be cheap, i think that is how most of America thought and voted for him; everyone put on their adolescent selfish helmet and said well maybe gas will be cheap and ignored all the other red flags |
Re: Election Day November 5,2024
That was an abysmal failure on the part of democrats. I said this when Biden ran that he should go in as a one term transitionary president his failure to do so led to the fiasco of this election.
Cred I disagree with you on this being on dems. Shame on the republicans, you could have nominated anybody in the primaries and you chose to elect Trump again (I for my part voted for Haley and encouraged anyone who would listen. I even sent her $). This is as much on them as it is on democrats. In the end this will be a continued erosion of our democracy and a loss of our civil liberties. We will get more of what we got from 2016, a decrease in workers rights, more Americans without healthcare, and increased wealth concentration at the top (this would have happened with Harris too as she as much a corporate stooge as Trump is). Mooby you are 100% right how can you lose 15 million votes from when Biden was running. Unacceptable. We also need to figure out why Americans are okay with losing the rights in favor of a more authoritarian president (John Adams one of the biggest turds in our history would be proud). |

That was a special case where the pandemic caused many states to increase mail in voting. At the moment Trump is about 6 million more than 2016 but about 6 million less than 2020. Kamala at the moment is 18 million less than 2020 and about 2 million less than 2016. The #1 reason Trump won was the economy and voters felt she was part of the problem. Trump did better on the margins , getting more votes than 20. Trump also got more black and Hispanic votes. Enough for him to win. Joe never should have ran again and he will just be remembered as the guy between Trump’s 2 terms. |

So, question for any of you Maryland voters that voted for Harris or against Trump did you vote for Hogan? He'd have been a far more effective foil against Trump that Alsobrook could ever be, simply because he is a Republican. It's too bad he lost.

Re: Election Day November 5,2024
I usually stay out of politics on here. But I'm just pist off and angry today and need to vent. I'm angry that a person that is of such low character and morals that clearly doesn't really give a shit about anyone but himself can become president again.
And I'm also angry at the dems for going so far left that we have biological boys playing in girls sports, having a border that was overrun and the defund the police bullshit. All that ( and a lot of other crap) seems to have propelled this sociopath to president again. Why is this pos allowed to get a pass to behave like he does? Why isn't he in jail for Jan 6th? Sending Covid tests to Putin while the people that he is supposed to put first are lying dead in Central Park makeshift morgues? I could go on but this is pure insanity. I didn't like Harris before but she won me over. The dems right about now need to look themselves in the mirror. It seems to be a lost party. |

Kamala Harris had more billionaires backers (83) and raised approximately 1 billion vs Trump who had 383 million
Harris won 100k + earners and grew that from Biden +3 to +8 This is the Democrats base, party of non-religious, coastal elites. |

G1 is such a stupid bitch It doesn’t take a data scientist to look at the numbers Trump won about the 45 percent of Hispanics, along with the 20+ percent of black men, the 40 percent of Jews in swing states, the 42 percent of Muslims in Dearborn Trump’s a nazi? He won because of a multi-racial coalition, mostly middle class folks Outside of the Hispanic numbers which are simply cray…mygod…did trump win 18-29 years olds? I find that harder to believe than Hispanics. That’s a yuge turn of history. Combine that with the 2030 census forecast of California, NY and Illinois House seat losses of up too -12 to GOP states mostly in the south….could be a problem |

They also need to do a much better job of making better worker policies even though they do better on it than the republicans. I for the life of me can't figure out why republicans always get a free pass on the economy when they always f it up royally but dems have to do a better job of explaining how their economic plans are better. Simple things like giving time to unions at the convention, working class muslims etc go a long way. As for non religious I think that is an advantage. I have never met a leader of organized religion that wasn't sleazy or corrupt. My brother is a guest pastor at his baptist church in Suffolk. He was telling my sister to steal some railroad ties to sell after hurricane Helene. Here I was the agnostic telling him how amoral stealing is. |

I’m reading that Gen Z and Latinos went for Trump hard. Makes zero fucking sense. Hope minorities are happy when the mass deportations begin, they could also try to denaturalize people. Have fun with that.
