I watched the Eagles game yesterday. I think Hurts threw to Dotson once. His career is just going to die there. Just wondering if perhaps he's just not that good and is just a guy. But he's not going to get many balls there w/ AJ Brown and Smith ahead of him. Not a good trade for Howie. He usually makes good ones but this was a bad one.

Giants GM after yesterday can't feel too good about his job. Saquan ran all over them. You can not let your best player walk out the door and go to your division rival. You just can't do that.
Re: Around the NFL - Week 7

I think you have to look at the first Giants game as Jayden finding his feet then coming out the next week with pretty much everything clicking. We scored on all 7 drives, just not TD's; that will change next time. The D wasn't good, but did hold them to 3 TD's (which would have meant a tied game if they'd had a kicker); that will change next time. The Giants are all at sea and we've shown we're in a position to win should win games. Right now the Eagles are who I'm wary of, not the Giants or the Cowboys.

Ravens might not lose again. This might be their year.

The Buccaneers has lost both Evans (probably for several weeks) and Godwin (likely for the remainder of the season) tonight.

And the Bucs' Godwin just got carted off the field; Mike Evans left earlier with a hamstring injury. That's devastating for the Bucs.

Ravens are pretty legit, I'm curious to see if they can overcome their playoff woes.

Adding Henry is almost unfair with the way Lamar already runs and how good he is on offense. They are loaded at tight end with Andrews and Likely. Also good at receivers with Flowers, Bateman, Agholor, etc. Team will be tough. Also Monken is a very good oc, and I'm sure is loving this group.

best offense in the AFC. Best overall? Probably. Bills are inconsistent, Chiefs are worst 6-0 team I can remember. Nobody else looks a real threat. If they can go 15-2 now, they have to be SB favourites.

Cannot remember a team having a lightning fast qb and a bulldozer, huge running power back. Crazy effective and nearly unstoppable.

Steve Young and Ricky Watters? Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch? Though in both cases the QB was fast, not necessarily lightning. But the combo was highly effective.

KC do NOT look like the best team in the AFC, let alone the NFL. Mahomes is not in synch (how many INT's?), Kelce is almost a spent force and they're all but decimated with injuries. None of their wins have been wholly convincing and they've played at least 3 teams with injury issues. I'd say Lions, Vikings and Ravens are now playing much better than they are, and we'd give them stiff competition with JD5 at the helm. If KC make the SB this year it'll be against the odds.

Henry and Barkley are outstanding.
I like our guys but I would upgrade in a heartbeat if an elite back becomes available.

Also Watters was a great back but not the power back that Henry is. No argument about Beastmode being a power back. Maybe my favorite run ever when he ripped off an incredible run in a playoff game v. the Saints years ago.

League hasn't seen nor been able to stop this combo yet of Lamar/Henry and their skillset.

Ravens offense looks like the best in the league. Really nothing they can't do. Their outside wr's are so underrated. Bateman is really coming on and we already know how good Flowers is. And how good is Henry? He is outrunning db's at 30 years old and 250lbs. What a stud that guy is. Plus the 2 TE's.. that is really a complete offense. And as I said a few weeks ago, please put to rest the Lamar can't throw nonsense. He has really gotten so much better at passing from where he was a few years ago.

We say this every time around this time of the year ; then the post season comes

Henry or Lamar goes down season over

Would love to see Ravens and us in a Super Bowl — not a stretch for 2025 season. The NFL would hate the TV market matchup, but the DMV would be on fire.

I agree, he has to do it in the post season. He has to get past Mahomes. I think this year they do it.

Good not amazing. But it feels like they are winning despite, not because of Mahomes. I guess if they can win while he's playing badly, there's always the chance they'll become unstoppable when he finds a vein of form.

They have ZERO receivers . . . he is not playing badly, just having to force things far too often with nobody open. If it wasn't for Mahomes, they would be 0 - 7.

Re: Around the NFL - Week 7

He was playing average at best Before his receivers got hurt. BY his standards (and most to be honest) his stats were average at best. 5 TD's to 7 INT's isn't because of his receivers. That's winning in spite of your QB, not because of him.

agree to disagree . . . IMO, they would not have won a game this year with most other QB's . . . I've watched most of their games. he has pulled some games out of his ass that they had no business winning with the way the team around him has been playing . . . RB's hurt (brought hunt in off the street and he's hurt now too), WR's hurt (now they add an over the hill Hopkins which should help, but he hasn't been very good for a few years not, not since the injury in AZ), Kelse has looked OLD and getting ZERO separation forcing him to rely more on his other TE's . . . interior offensive line is great, but tackles suck . . and LT hurt as well.

Of course not. But they do and they are.

I’m hoping the Daniels - Williams rivalry becomes the NFC version of Mahomes - Allen (with Washington having the Mahomes equivalent).

agreed . . . but that whole interaction was around the conversation that the Chiefs were winning in spite of Mahomes, not because of him. I feel it is the opposite and without Mahomes they would be lucky to be at 3 wins right now.

the advantage JD5 has over CW is Kliff; next year CW will have an entirely different coaching staff

CW was not impressive because he still does things that worked in college which will not work here: he steps back in the pocket and holds ball/hero ball.

Also, he was really inaccurate on medium-deep routes. Like not even close.

But something that was impressive is his ability to escape. He was slippery

Throwing 40 times a game with a lousy line, no running game, and doomed play-calling. He might be dead by this point in the season.
