Has there ever been a time when giving the HC control of personnel actually worked? I am struggling to think of a case

Bill Belichick. Starting to suspect he hit the lotto with a 6th round qb and that covered up many of his weaknesses though. I would argue Andy Reid has final decision making on his roster too but his track record is proven. |

Honestly, if there aren’t changes this week, I’m done. Like forever done. After being a fan for 50 years. I know the stench of Snyder runs deep, but how can you have so little fight. Pathetic. This somehow feels worse than the Chicago loss.

I hate that I have to constantly defend him because I think he is a dick. But once again him and Brady needed each other. |

I’ve said this for a few years now. I’m a fan of this team and always will be but I’m not a diehard fan anymore. Losses don’t matter to me. In fact I laugh at most of the games we play. The only real connection I have to this franchise is on this site. If Matty said the page is retiring I’d probably not even root for them anymore. You fuckers keep me in this shit hole lol

Then I realized that most likely it was all having Tom Brady. Belichick only had one winning season in Cleveland as HC there. He has been borderline trash since losing Brady. A fun question is who is a worse HC at this point in their career? Belichick or Ron? I do think Andy Reid is another shining example of a HC being able to be his own GM. Belichick needed a proven superstar GOAT QB to win. Andy Reid had loads of success with many different QB's - McNabb, Jeff Garcia, and Michael Vick, as well as Alex Smith in KC, and of course Mahomes. |
Re: (Twice-annual guaranteed L) Giants postgame thread
Andy Reid never won a ring before Mahomes tho. That QB makes all the difference man.

You can’t just throw up balls like he does.. bro this is the NFL not UNC. But in fairness to Howell , his WRs never ever get open in tight situations. Terry has been so disappointing this season.. has the NFL caught up to him? He never creates separation. And His OL is ATROCIOUS Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I agree.
I don't want an interim to coach a team for a game in 4 days - if we get blown out by the Cowboys let him go afterwards. If it's a close game and they lose to the Cowboys wait until they get blown out by the Dolphins the week after that and then let Ron go - interim has the bye week to prepare. Regardless, if Ron gets fired I don't have faith in an interim to do his job better.
Mainly just too much turmoil before a national game. After the Dallas game, we have a 10 day mini-bye, followed by a real bye week. Just do the firing on Black Friday. It fits. |

You can admit you’re wrong about him
Tell that to Peyton when he had bad games as a rookie. I'll end with that. |
Re: (Twice-annual guaranteed L) Giants postgame thread
I felt like the only thing that was halfway decent was EB and BRob. EB seemed a lot more patient today and that was really the way to call the game considering we could not block their d-line. WTF is it with the Giants defense when they play us? They just trample our line. You'd think this was the Giants D when Belichick was their d coordinator w/ LT.
Anyhow EB was decent today. I think B Rob is such a good back. Not great but really good. I think the offense missed Gibson out of the back field. Dotson continues to be a no show. Not Sam's best game at all, he seemed to be bothered a bit w/ all the pressure. Not gonna kill him for the last int. But he threw a couple bad ones. Should have been 4 picks. We knew there would be days like this... |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Why bother firing him now? What strategic purpose would there to be to fire him now? Nothing short of a Super Bowl this year (not happening) isn't going to save his job so why not just keep him until the last game and jettison his ass to the moon at 12:01am the following day. I'm pretty sure everybody in that locker room and front office knows that coaching staff is gone. I guess they could make EB the head coach and see how he does for a few games? |

I can say I'm not emotionally vested in this team this year. Haven't watch the past three weeks b/c I know this is a lame duck season for Ron and crew. I'm happy for the future and glad we got some good picks off of players we were never keeping. |

I only watch to laugh. Losing used to ruin my day up until about 4 years ago. Then I realized as fans we can’t do shit about it. Why get mad? This is a HUGE offseason for Harris and co. It is hard to get the ball downfield when you have 2 seconds to throw the ball and your wr’s get zero separation. Wait, not hard but impossible. Sam is the absolute least of the worries on this team full of misfits. |

Jumping ship now, after almost 25 years of torture, months before an owner not named Dan Snyder is about to try and fix things seems strange. |
Re: (Twice-annual guaranteed L) Giants postgame thread
This is just me but I see no harm right now in firing Martin Mayhew as GM. There is not much he can do post trade deadline if he is a lame duck. I am not sure if there is a time frame in which we prohibiting from hiring or interviewing GM candidates, but I feel we as fans deserve better. I genuinely understand the argument of waiting till after week 18 but that doesn't negate my anger at the ownerships silence (other than Magic) in how this season has unfolded and impacted the fandom.
