So Jamin Davis is a stupid human being and/or a total asshole. Going 114 anywhere is putting you and others lives on the line. Doing it in a 45 is beyond stupid.

In other great news, if and when he gets suspended, our starting LG unit, even in Nickel personnel, consists in Cody Barton and... *thunder roll* David "Spicy Jalapeño BBQ Sauce" Mayooooo ! Yes. It's August 1st and I'm bitching about our LB corps already.
Khaleke Hudson will be out best LB this year. and will be starting by end of year. mark my words. Or mark my hope, lol, but i think he is a lot, LOT better than anyone is realizing. The most time Davis will be suspended for is 4 weeks and i HIGHLY doubt it will be that. His jail time will be on hold until the off season like they tend to do for these highly paid athletes. Most likely he'll miss 1 game. |

Watching 1 on 1 line drills. UDFA guard Mason Brooks beat Phidarian Mathis with such aplomb that Juan Castillo started jumping for joy. The other players immediately called for a rematch. Brooks put Mathis on the ground. |

Cracks me up that Twitter world is saying Howell looks like shit... Yeah he's throw a couple pick sixes... He's young and its Team camp... Chill out

Re: 2023 Commies training camp thread
The defense will likely need to carry this team for at least the 1st half of the season. Howell needs to get some snaps under his belt. Dude only started 1 game last year. I believe in him, but hopefully he gets a full season to show what he has.

Re: 2023 Commies training camp thread
I wonder if Barton - Hudson combo at LB over Davis.

I agree with this. Rookie qb's that can come in day 1 and not make dumb rookie mistakes are rare. Howell is basically a redshirt qb - he was 3rd string except for 1 game last year. |

Very good running teams and physical pass catching TEs may very well be difficult to defend for us...

Envoyé de mon SHV48 en utilisant Tapatalk
Very good running teams and physical pass catching TEs are difficult for every team to defend. For me though, the LB talk has run its course. It's not a position that these coaches value, and it has been that way since they took over. Despite that, they have been top 10 in points allowed in 2 of the 3 seasons. It will likely be 3/4 after this year, even with Jamin Davis speeding all over the DMV. |

Is this defense gonna be very good again this season? For sure. Could it have been better and less subject to derailment by injuries with a couple of cheap additions? I think it's hard to argue. And the 1 linebacker we have that can run fast, can't stop driving like an asshole. He plays slow and drives fast. Rivera is definitely going to get fired. Probably already decided. With a caveat, if we win 10+ games, the ownership group may revesit. |

Envoyé de mon SHV48 en utilisant Tapatalk
:food-smil It's not like I don't want them to, or don't think they should, upgrade the LB group. I was hoping they would figure out a way to lure T Edmonds here... But, if they can be a top 10 (maybe even top 5) defense this year with the likes of Barton, Hudson, and Davis...I'm good with that. It is a little weird though, with both Ron and Jack being former LBs... From the outside looking in, it's the QB, O-line, and LB groups that I am most questioning. All other areas look real solid - on paper. A weak LB group (if that's what we have) can be somewhat "covered for" with an elite defensive front and a really good secondary. However, if the QB and/or O-line is weak, the offense is in trouble. Really can't wait until they start going against the Ravens in practices, and other teams in preseason so we can get a better sense of what we have. |

Re: 2023 Commies training camp thread
The trouble I have with Saddiq Charles is that he gets injured so often I am not sure we can count on him for any significant number of games in the regular season. This will be his fourth season and don't think has been available for 16 games so far. Tons of potential, judging by how they hang on to him and keep giving him chances, but too fragile to be counted on

I don't feel confident with Rivera when it comes to making decisions with QBs but I'm inclined to trust Eric with the decision. |

The name is the last thing on their minds from what Wright said. They want to WIN , as for RR he’s never had a good QB other than Cam for a few years. Howell will be the guy unless he’s just garbage the first 2 weeks.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I sure hope RR and co are not thinking about the name one single second these days ! Doesn't say much about what ownership is thinking about though. I sure hope THEY are not thinking about QB decisions and scheme adjustments... RR and co have a chance at staying if the team wins 10+ this season. But I don't see any way on earth Jason Wright can save his job. So I would take everything he says with that in mind. I wouldn't be surprised if he was to get dumped mid season. That wouldn't impact the football side of operations, and would give a precious head start to the next team to prepare the future. Name change or not, they will have a lot to take care of. Why would they be talking about a name change right now anyways? Makes zero sense. I have said all along, at some point, when the time is right, Commanders is gone. |
Re: 2023 Commies training camp thread
Ron is trying to win now to save his job. I wouldn't be shocked if he went w/ the safer option that will take care of the ball and have less negative plays.

Al Galdi made the point that if they don't win he's out, but if they do win a lot his probably out too cuz Bienemy gets his job... Unless they win 10+ games with a very good defense and an awful offense, I do think the point can be made Ron is on the hot seat either ways. |

For RR, the safer option is not the safer option. Ron apparently thought that Wentz was the safer option to start against Cleveland last season. The truth is that he doesn't have a feel for offense in the modern NFL or for the QB position. He had better leave the offense to EB and let him develop Sam if he wants to keep his job for the entire 2023 season. He's gone in 2024 no matter what. But if he stays out of EB's way in 2023, he may be offered a nice front office job with the team when EB is promoted to HC. |
