I'm at work too, waiting to have the news alert come over my phone / watch. I imagine it will be breaking news nationally when it happens. I'm trying to not to watch for it. I want to be surprised. I want to remember this day, and where I was and exactly how I felt when the news breaks.

I remember when I felt the same way. I think it was 2018 or 2019, the team had just went through another scandal or something horrible, and I remember having this exact same conversation with relative strangers on Reddit. We had just resigned ourselves as far as being dudes under 40 years old, and with Dan relatively young-ish, we would always be trapped with him as our owner since no matter what he did, the NFL would stand by him, and he would be in charge until he either got too old or died off.

What a difference just a couple of years makes. Now for the first time in many, many years, I think the fanbase has genuine true hope. It's ironic to think back, because I remember in 1999 being in high school and there being buzz about Dan Snyder, who at the time was young and wealthy, and I remember how awesome that first year was where he went on the spending spree. We went 10-6 and it seemed the future was bright. How quickly things went horrible after that!

I am honestly excited again. Maybe more relieved than excited, maybe a combination of both. Honestly kind of hard to put into words. But it's over now, and the future suddenly seems bright again!

I’d be fine with a new name. Not a fan of commanders. But keep the colors. Nothing else like them in pro sports.

Yea if they complete erase the colors and basically do away with any of the history of the team regarding Redskins then might as well be an expansion team … at that point I won’t care ..Glad Snyder is gone though .. maybe the Nfl wants a complete erase from the Redskin legacy .. but I’m not gonna be a fan of a team that has no connection at all with the Past glory years .. and If they are gonna change it all up then do it now .. Didn’t I read Harris say he was not gonna change colors ?? Hell I wouldn’t be surprised if they moved the team and erase all mentions of Refskins and blur out any image of the logo as so not to offend someone …

Why would a guy who grew up in Chevy Chase change the colors? This is just not going to happen. Besides, Snyder already changed the colors w/ the god awful all blacks and knockoff Gamecock uniforms. I'm thinking that low rent shit ( along w/ Commanders) is gone cause that ain't us.

Seems like the new group is trying to get rid of the stench of Snyder. If they are saying that " it's on the table" then you can be sure that it is going to happen.

Much cheaper and easier to revamp the uniforms vs a total rebrand. Could be a solid way to meet in the middle on all of this. Just my speculation. It’s not like the uniforms were well received either.

In the end I could really care less about what the team is called. Just win.

^ This. The name will likely never be what we all want so why abandon the team colors? Reconfig the design but burgundy and gold are gospel and should not ever be ditched.
