What's up with the Orioles and Kevin Brown? Suspending him for telling the truth on how they've struggled against the Rays? Seriously pathetic.

The main problem is Hal. He could care less about winning because Yankee Stadium will fill up every game every time no matter how bad they are. It is just like MSG and the Knicks. Tourist attraction. Hal is a businessman. Not a fan like his Dad. I finally get rid of Snyder and now am stuck with the new worst owner in sports. Cashman is never getting fired, and he should be. What he has assembled is an absolute joke. Even those 90’s teams with Jeter Posada Bernie and Pettite - were not his. He did not draft them. He was gifted that team and at the time had more money than anyone so getting the Oneils, and the rest of those free agents was just too easy. Cashman is the absolute worst. Our farm system sucks. He cant draft. His FA acquisitions are always hurt and just laughs. His trades are insane. Boone is just a yes man. I don’t think he is terrible, but he isn’t great. He will be the fall guy, and they will bring in another Boone. It is by far, without a doubt, the greatest franchise in any sport ever, and what Hal is allowing to happen to it is beyond disgusting. This team is so locked into so many bad contracts and has no farm system. They are in trouble for the foreseeable future. |

I've followed the Yankees and never realized how much of as in issue Hal is. I honestly think they need a full rebuild, but doubt they swallow their pride to do it. Baltimore, Houston, Atlanta, and LA are not slowing down anytime soon. |

40/70 is fucking ridiculous. Generational talent.
40/70 is fucking ridiculous. Generational talent.
Yes it is. 70 stolen bases is more impressive than 40 home runs. That is crazy. Literally he must be stealing nearly every opportunity and is successful. Best offensive player in baseball now on a stacked team.

Re: 2023 MLB Season Thread
The new rules of course helped greatly, otherwise he's probably more in the range of 40 SB. Still impressive either way.

Re: 2023 MLB Season Thread
Anything short of a world championship makes the Braves season a failure imo. The only team that might put up a fight are the Dodgers. Nobody in AL will

Baseball playoffs are the ultimate crapshoot. This season was a blast regardless imo.

BS this is as close to a code red, must win, trap WS the Braves will be in. You don't want a replay of 1998 do you? In all seriousness I was listening to Loud Outs on Monday and they were talking about in a 3 and 5 game series there is some randomness involved but the longer series the better team wins 90% of the time. At the beginning of the 20th century they used to play 9 game series and went to 7 because there was rarely an upset. (I am curious how much gambling played a role in that). |
Don’t count out Baltimore Baltimore.
I'd love to see Baltimore have a great post season I just don't see it. They had one hitter bat over .280 the entire season, the great Ryan O'Hearn. They are middle of the road in almost every metric offensively. Pitching is suspect at best, we are looking at Kyle Bradish, Grayson Rodriguez and John Means as the starters and losing the best pitcher in the majors to Tommy Johns in August has left a glaring hole in the bull pen. Gunnar is fun but he is going to have to start being more than a .255 hitter in the future if this team will take the next step. |
Re: 2023 MLB Season Thread
Baseball playoffs are dumb as fuck. Play 162 games, then lose 2 in a row, season over. Dumb. 2 game losing streak in baseball ends your season. Lol. Dumb.

Re: 2023 MLB Season Thread
It is harsh. Much like nature. You are the third egg to hatch enjoy your two weeks on Earth that is all you get as your older siblings slowly starve you to death.
Went 3-4 for teams I wanted to see win. With NL teams I always root for cities I like better. So was pulling for Philly and Milwaukee. Can't stand the city of Phoenix so I hope they get pummeled next round. |

What a lovely analogy to wake up to lol. I'll be pulling for whatever team wins the Rangers/Orioles series in the AL. |
Re: 2023 MLB Season Thread
Sports are wild. The 1st 5 innings of the Braves game was legitimately as unenjoyable as it gets. We were getting no-hit. Then 1 in the 6th, 2 in the 7th, 2 in the 8th, crazy double play to end it. I was yelling like a fucking lunatic. Ended up being one of the better games I've watched in my life. Fuckin' sports.
|
Re: 2023 MLB Season Thread
Huge double play

Re: 2023 MLB Season Thread
Good game last night. I wish I could root for the Braves, they're fun to watch, but just can't maybe one day they will move away from that city.

Well 101 wins and out of playoffs in 4 days. Losing to a team from Dallass too f-ing sucks. Go NL

Agreed, a best of 3 series is terrible. Make it best of 5 at least. |

I guess we can count them out now. Jeez. Anyone but the Astros at the end of the day. I actually hate all the teams that are left except the Twins. As a Yankee fan it simply cannot be the D-Backs, Stros, Dodgers, or Braves. Cannot be Philly because I live here and do not root for them. Basically Im stuck with the Twins. |
Re: 2023 MLB Season Thread
My prefered ranking at this point would be: Twins, Phillies, Dodgers, Braves, D-backs, Rangers, Astros

Just 96 no? Anyway because they had the nerve to take a 2 game lead. Lol I also feel like the Braves are consistently good and don’t want them getting more rings while we suck. I wouldn’t be super upset if the Braves won but they aren’t my first choice. |

Rocker was way before his time. He would probably have gotten millions of twitter followers and possibly a spot in congress if he made those comments today. Way back in 99 you were still held accountable for being a piece of shit. |

Brian Snitker is a stupid piece of fucking shit. I'm 100% dead sober, I just can't fucking stand that jackass. Braves team is so good it covers up for how incompetent he is. Leaving Elder in, who has been dogshit all 2nd half, to face Harper a 2nd time w/ runners on base is just criminal. And of course he blasts a 3-run bomb. Just like everyone besides our dumbfuck manager knew he would.

There is nothing worse than poor managerial decisions in baseball. Their impact is so limited throughout the season and then in high leverage moments their decisions become magnified. Game 1 of ALDS Orioles aren't hitting. They are losing 3-2 in the 7th. They draw a walk for the leadoff. Cedric Mullins 2 for last 30 comes up. Now with his speed and Aaron Hicks on the bases. A bunt should've been in play. Nope we had three batters and Hicks didn't get off first base. How you are given three outs and don't advance a runner off of first in a one run game is mind blowing to me. |
