How about if The Texans hire Flores who has a NE relationship with their GM, repairs the Deshaun Watson relationship and stays, making Davis Mills expendable. Wouldn't that be nice?

He's on a great contract for a QB, they shouldn't trade him, unless someone gives them a 1st. I personally don't want to give up a 1st for Mills.

Put it this way, Pickett, Corral, Howell will probably be 1st round picks, Mills in his 1st year is probably better than all 3 of them and has 1
Year experience under his belt with a shitty team. I would gladly give away our 1st.

That's a more than fair opinion. And you could just as easily be right as I could be.

I don't want Pickett altogether.

And I'd rather have Corral or Howell more than Mills, personally. If either are available at 11, I'd take that risk.

I think Corral has more upside than Howell, but he's pretty small and plays like Heinicke (way more upside but similar). Howell is good but he's maxed out in terms of upside, but is more plug and play ready, with way less injury risk.

To your point, I'd rather have Mills, Howell, or Corral be our starting QB over Heinicke. Heinicke is a great No. 2, but let's get a possible franchise QB, and let him run with it.

There you go, Culley fired opening the door for Flores going Houston, fix the Watson relationship (hopefully) and making Mills available.

I'd trade for Mills. I think we were interested in him when he came out.

Mills had a good year and I’d certainly take him over what’s coming out.

Question is what u giving up? I think a teams like Minny, Pittsburgh, New Orleans would be very healthy competition. New Orleans is gonna make a big play for QB this off-season

Things might work out perfectly for Flores and Watson, thanks Dolphins!

Wonder if it would take a 1st now? Would definitely need to be a 2nd.

Of course all this assumes the legal stuff is resolved sometime soon. Really haven't seen any updates on that front.

Our 1st that we would use on an unproven college QB, Mills was solid on a shitty team. If forced throw a 4th rounder and take my chances.

Houston's owner out here trying to compete with Snyder for leagues worst owner.

Looks like things were a mess in many other ways in Houston:

@aaronjreiss
Nick Caserio was part of David Culley's practices and was on the headset advising Culley on game management. It'll be interesting to see if any of that changes with a new Texans head coach.

Context: Caserio is the GM in Houston.

Hines Ward getting an interview with the Texans. Given his lack of coaching experience, is this just a nod to the recruitment rules, or has he got a legitimate chance?

As long as Caserio and McNair run the show - that team will never compete for titles.

I saw a rumor that Watson and Flores are trying to go to the same team.

I'm curious - what is the connection between Watson and Flores? Without looking it up, I don't think Watson and Flores were together on a team in the past.

What is the connection between Watson and Flores. I always thought Watson potentially going to Miami was just a Florida thing. I feel like the media is making more of a Watson/Flores connection than there really is. Am I wrong?

I just read one of the reasons Flores was let go was he would criticize Tua for his shitty work ethic and owner sided with Tua.
The Dolphins’ leader was unhappy to see his star passer on the golf course rather than in the film room on his days off. But when it came time to make a decision on the future of the organization, Miami stuck with Tagovailoa despite Flores leading the Dolphins to 19 wins over the last two seasons.

And there goes Mayock. Not a massive surprise, and clears the way for a new GM and coach combo. Be interesting to see if Mayock is back on NFLN and especially the draft build up and coverage. "Well Mike, who do you think the Raiders should draft?"

Why would anyone listen to this overhyped clown, obviously he's a shitty talent evaluator.

He's actually not that bad. more than half his draft picks have been productive players, if not stars (Jacobs, Crosby, Renfrow...). His swings and misses in LV have been on high picks and the AB car crash. On the latter, Arians took him to TB and had pretty much the same experience, so it's not all on Mayock. I'd say his primary flaws are in the business side of GM, not talent evaluation, but coupled with a few stinkers in the draft and the fallout over Gruden this result was probably likely. Whether he can be a GM elsewhere is an unknown, but I'd say his talent evaluation is at least better than average.

I personally hope the Cowboys keep McCarthy for several more years. He did a fantastic job at the end of the game, and I applaud him trying to blame the refs for mismanaging the clock.

Bang up job ol' chap, now join us on the couch.

picking players is a very tough job. he picked some good ones and also had some bad ones. the very best guys had a lot of bad picks and he is no different.

however he is absolutely the best guy on tv when it comes to the draft. he was outstanding on NFL Network.
