Maybe, or maybe just due diligence in case there are set backs, or his time table for returning is extended. Not a bad thing to have a guy who has done it at this level, with a couple 1,000 yard seasons under his belt as an insurance policy. Javon Leake is largely unproven...
Defense has been playing great no doubt, but lets not forget Pittsburgh had 7 dropped passes, and we barely beat Nick Mullins.Russell Wilson is a whole different story,I dont care how many times he's been sacked.Seattle wins going away because our qb play is terrible.
This is how I feel. People are getting too caught up in thinking we are the 85 Bears. No doubt this d is getting better. They played lights out last week. But we have also gotten some breaks playing some backup qb's. This week is an elite Qb w/ top wr's. I just feel like our offense will keep giving the ball back to Wilson and he will end up making some big plays.

We’ve played 2 mediocre games on offense and manage to win because of the defense. Football is a game that sometimes involves luck, the last 4 games since the Cincy game a key player/players on the opposing team have been lost due to injury early in the games. I still think the mindset of this D is what I expected, you have players that were stars in college who have been losing for the last couple of years. This D is hungry and is pissed off, they are on a mission to prove they are for real. I think our O will be better this week, should be a hell of a game. If they win, the so called experts are going to believe.

Nothing wrong with being jaded or holding back on drinking the koolaid.

But even if Steelers are the worst 11-0 team in history, when in recent history do we win that game?

49ers game? Offense basically did nothing. Defense just said no biggy, we got you guys. Another game we would typically never win.

This is the most justified season to be excited to be a fan since Bob's rookie year. We're in 1st place, control our own destiny, and Bruce Fuckface isn't here.

I submit that we enjoy it and roll with it.

That being said and probably revisionist history since we already played the Pittsburgh game, but I think Seattle is our best test. We win this game, and I'm riding this high as Positive Pete until we don't have another game to play.

After all if AS' injury was real serious they would have brought in a qb right?

Well, it's a good point. You would think they would at least think about bringing one up from the PS. You don't roll into any NFL game with one able QB.

It's not often we get to drink the December kool-aid, which tastes much different than the pre-season type.

Look hard enough at any win and you can find built in excuses. We don't have to apologize for winning 4 in a row and knocking off an 11-0 team. If that's not enough to get someone on board oh well.

Seattle is a tough game, and we may lose but as a whole this team has come together and playing exciting meaningful football with 3 games left in the season. That's an excellent place to be after the past 10-20 years.

Let's hope we come out of the Seattle game without more injuries. Winning this game would be an uphill battle if Alex Smith and Gibson were both 100%; without them, or with a hobbled QB, there's little chance we win this game. The beautiful thing is that the team has put itself in the position to not have to win this game. I really hope they focus on getting healthy for Carolina and Philly, and not risk too much this weekend.

True, but a win would be pretty sweet. Seattle is not unbeatable and it’s great to see us competing in every game now. It’s been since early in the season that we’ve failed to be competitive and even bad NFL teams still have elite athletes. Just being competitive week after week is such a refreshing change. I hope we can continue that through season’s end whatever the outcome so it carries over to next year. The team is ascending - in recent years id be worried we’d choke and lose out the rest of the season. I can’t see this group doing that.

Would love to see Seattle go down. Pete Carroll irritates me. Mad respect for Russell Wilson and DK Metcalf in particular.

Not to mention we are coming off three consecutive road wins at Dallas, at Pittsburgh, and at San Francisco (albeit in Arizona). That's pretty historic right there. I wonder if that has ever happened, or at least since the 1970's.

Back in August I guarantee nobody saw that coming, everyone had those chalked up as losses

Washington has outscored opponents in those four games by 50 points. Yes, 50 points. How is that even possible? Because in the last eight games, Washington ranks third in the NFL, allowing just 133 points for an average of 16.6 points per game — 14.25 points in the previous four.

That sucks about DE. Seems like he has been around for a long time and he gets his chance and gets hurt. He was playing pretty well too.

I don't want to see Apke. He is a pure mess at safety.

Agreed, and I don't think he fits into the new culture. It's a TC-football-in-shorts sensation, when speed shows more than ability to tackle and feel for the game.

EdmundDorf 12-18-2020 05:39 AM

Re: WFT v Seattle predictions/pregame talk

Apke is such a liability I am surprised that they haven't moved a corner into that slot. As soon as RW sees him on the field it will be bombs away to DKM. Obviously the effectiveness of our line depends on the back end being able to hold up for long enough. The defensive strategy the last few weeks has been paying off, Apke defensive snaps = 0

AnonEmouse 12-18-2020 06:58 AM

Re: WFT v Seattle predictions/pregame talk

RR treated weeks 1-6 as preseason. Seems clear the last 6 or 7 weeks they've been solidifying the core that will be here next year. I'd say they now have c. 30 players they definitely want to be back in 2021, and a couple on the bubble. I'd say Apke is definitely one of those on the outside looking in.

Re: WFT v Seattle predictions/pregame talk

Without the 2 best LBs, and Everett, I don't see the WFT D holding the Seattle O at bay.

Without Smith & Gibson (doubtful), and since the strength of the WFT offense is what Seattle defends best, I don't see the O scoring much.

I have to say:

WFT 12
SEA 27

Hopefully the Giants & Philly lose.

Re: WFT v Seattle predictions/pregame talk

The game is already over the moment Smith is ruled out for the game. It's not going to be easy for the defense win the game for the team against one of the top offenses in NFL.

I will say this. If Colt McCoy can beat Seattle in Seattle we have a punchers chance. As long as Chase is in the game our D can do what it needs to do, and they have thee worst defense in football. So offense is advantage them, and defense is advantage us. It is a home game and they are traveling across the country.
Us 20
Them 17
Koolaid is a very addictive drug,....

Re: WFT v Seattle predictions/pregame talk

I've been pretty optimistic the last several weeks, but I think the team comes back down to earth this weekend. If it was just Smith, or just Gibson, or just Everett, or just Holcomb, they could probably make a game out of it, but in my opinion, there's too many key injuries to beat a good Seattle team.

The only way I could see a WFT win is if DH has an out of body experience and surprises us all, and the Defense and Special Teams score three TDs.

Seems like a team first guy. Gives 100% effort on special teams, more times than not hes the first guy standing in front of the punt returner on a fair catch. I think he fits the culture well ... just might not fit on the roster in a year or two from now.

Like you said, combine champion who is raw and lacks a feel for the game.

Missing Holcomb and KPL we might see more of a 5-2 aligned like they have used recently.

Re: WFT v Seattle predictions/pregame talk

Holcomb and KPL are out? Shit in my fucking boots, man that sucks

Jamal Adams - i remember what he did to us a year or 2 ago with multiple sacks ... that guy scares me. No way Lucas or Moses is fleet footed enough to be able to kick out and get a block on him.

---------------------

my prediction - we lose. Offense has too many 3 n outs, no Gibson has shown it changes what we are able to do, we are a bit more banged up, Scherff and Schweitzer are trying to tough it out but they seem to be getting dinged every game now

defensively I think Russ will paper cut us to death plus he has a great sense of timing and when to take the deep shots .. the deep shots now being defended by Curl and Reaves.

line is Seattle -6 ... I might take that. If we have Alex Smith and Gibson, this is a different game.

I worry about Holcomb and KPL out more than Alex Smith.

People thinking watch out for DK and Lockett...Folks, Holcomb and Everett out, they are gonna try and pound the rock and not give that pass rush opportunity to make plays
