Re: Time to Cut Doctson and Bring in Bryant

I feel all this Doctson talk stems from the bye week.

It's like we're back in the off-season with nothing else to talk about so fans are nit-picking players after 3 games. I've even seen Ryan Kerrigan catching some heat?

Our coaches and FO are well aware of Doctsons production. Let's just see what happens the last 13+ games... I'm sure the necessary moves will be made if needed.

I'd rather hold out hope that he can eventually produce rather than give up on him. Especially while he's on his rookie contract and especially ESPECIALLY while we have no better options.

I agree that it would be better to give him this entire season to see what happens. But I also believe Doctson chances are running out and that he has been a major disappointment. This not a bye week boredom thing. Anyone with two working eyes can say Doctsons grade as a Redskin is incomplete, which is not good.

I would bring in Kelvin Bryant before I signed Dez

Kelvin Bryant was a running back so he’s out,And I would like to add I am not saying we should sign Dez,but Doctson sucks, would rather see Mo taking his place or Brian Quick for that matter

Yeah this is sensible. I think the move to grab Floyd wasn’t just in response to injuries, it was intended to give insurance in case Doc completely fails, or deals with heel bullshit all year. Remember this is the second time this season Doc has been in a boot.

We’ve got Floyd and Mo Harris, let’s let them compete w Doc and push him for time.

Re: Time to Cut Doctson and Bring in Bryant

Assuming Reed can stay healthy (keeping my fingers crossed), we still have him, Thompson, Crowder, and Richardson for Smith to throw to. Oh, and Davis as well. So, if Doctson is gimpy again, I feel like the 'skins have enough to compensate, of course with Mo Harris and Floyd as well.

Last year, weapons kept falling and Cousins was running out of people to target. Hopefully that doesn't happen to Smith this year. Remember, we did draft Sims and Mr. Irrelevant as well, so there was probably some thoughts in the back of Gruden's mind that he needed some insurance. Problem is, those cats are lost for the season, so here we are.

Re: Time to Cut Doctson and Bring in Bryant

The entire league seemed to think that AP was done. He's not. Maybe we'll get lucky and Floyd will make a remarkable comeback with us, as well. I'd like to see what he can do.

Also, I like Mo Harris a lot. I think he could actually provide more production than Doctson.

So I'm fine with what the Skins are doing at WR, for now.

Under no circumstances would I cut Josh Doctson this season or sign Dez Bryant ever.

Yeah Doc is a bust so far, but who is the number one wr stud that we can just pick up the phone and get? Dez is certainly not it. Hasn’t been for a couple of years. Personally I would take him on a one year deal over Doc right now, but I would take a six pack and a pack of smokes over Doc right now too so ......

Nobody is debating that. We are debating that Dez is any good. There are 31 other teams besides the Skins that are not interested in Dez. I am beginning to think you might be Dez and you are trying to rile up the fan base. There will be no bill boards asking for your services. Try another post with a different option to take Docs spot,....

So stupid.

You have an offensive game plan that is throwing the ball to RBs more than WRs. And then you blame the WRs for not producing. SMH

Looks like Peterson will play through his shoulder injury. Guy hasn’t been with the team 2 months and gives more to this team than that POS Doctson. Cut his ass already.

Man hasn't had a 1000 yard season in 3 years and people still acting like he's great.

What kind of a #1 can't put up #1 numbers in a league setting offensive records every week?

The one who's overrated.

Re: Time to Cut Doctson and Bring in Bryant

5superbowls3, I'm not sure what Doctson did to make you loathe him.. The fact is, as of right now, there are not adequate alternative options to replace Doctson (beside starting Harris over him). Dez is NOT an option at all.. 31 teams including his former team passed him over when he was released; Browns showed some interests but not sure what happened afterwards. Dez trashed Cowboys in off season for releasing him, talked shit about Cowboys offense in beginning of the season, and now he is begging Cowboys to resign him. With all that drama and Dez's performance declining in last few years, I struggle to understand why you (or anyone else) would want Redskins to sign Dez.

I agree that Dez is not the answer. That was my knee jerk reaction when I made the post, BUT it is clear that Doctson is useless, and needs to go. Give the spot to someone else who will step up, show up, and contribute like Harris or Sims.

At this point, I'm all for allowing Harris take over the spot too, I would love for Sims to have the opportunity but unfortunately he is on IR.

Doctson haven't done anything to show us his value to the team, however I think we haven't really given him enough opportunities to make plays. The Colts game is perfect example, I believed this is where we should have throw deep ball to Doctson and let him do his magic. There would be risk of intercepts because Colts defense played deep but we were so behind, we must take risks sometimes.

Re: Time to Cut Doctson and Bring in Bryant

The street free agent who could make the most difference and improve the team immediately is not Dez.

It is Jr Gallette.

He had a ton of burst of the edge and scared tackles last year.

If he is in shape, he would be low cost and bring something to the D the team doesn't currently have on the roster, a fast twitch edge guy who scares people.

I'm not saying they should...

I'm just saying I don't understand why they don't.

3 rec for 20 yards?
This is the equivalent of your girl/guy making you a hotpocket for your birthday dinner.

We have really low standards for WRs.

Yeah on that deep ball yesterday he looked like he was interfered with but he's not getting that call, and he didn't try to fight for the ball either. I just think he's what he is and we will never get that 1st round talent out of him. This team sucks at WR evaluations
