Re: Trouble in Redskins Park?

I will reserve judgment for a while for the following reasons. 2 Pro McLovin and 1 against.

I would like to see how it all plays out before lopping heads.

1. It takes at least 3 years to judge a draft class.

2. I don't think any of the free agent busts were intended as anything other than a low risk low money bandaid.

3. A handful of very negative public comments has come out from the organization (All the folks in the know guessed McLovin) about Kirk. Being a stat accumulator at the beginning of the season and the Jason Cole Bleacher report article. These came out at a time when Kirk should be wooed like a 5 star recruit at a shady S.E.C. school.

I don't have an issue with McLovin being kept out of the media after putting his foot in his mouth over Kirk.

I am not really big on year two's picks. If Cravens plays 12 games I will be happy. I am psyching myself out just in case Doctson blows his Achilles again. Our UFA RBs might be the only bright spot of that draft if Sua can't stay healthy.

I think had Joe Barry played Cravens more as a safety, he would have stayed healthy. How do I know that? I don't. I'm just trying to find something to piss and moan about our departed DC.
I believe that McNabb was on his last legs during the final season in Philly. He was washed up when he arrived here. Look how horrible he was during his one short season in Minnesota. We didn't do him any favors here, but i also think it wasn't 100% our fault that he sucked here.
question...who picked McNabb and then followed trading everything and up picking RG3.

Hint...it wasnt Shanny either time...

Exactly. A lot of what SM said might have been true but there was no need to say it to anyone, let alone in front of a camera. I would much rather wonder what is going on in Redskins Park instead of reading all the details a week in advance on Vinnyleaks.

**edit** tacking this on here as I think this is the right thread......

WTF happened to patience for a rebuild? If we had gone 6-10 then 9-6-1 I dont think there would be all of the BS. Honestly if I take a serious look at where the skins are, I am happy with the progress. We just need to stick with a plan and be patient. We have sucked since '91 who cares about another year or two of solidifying the roster and winning about as much as we lose? Heh, that would still be the best record across 5 years since Gibbs I. By far. Go Caps and get me another beer while your up please.

Here we go indeed. Based off his past history it might be reasonable to think that, but the article clearly states Cooley has nothing to go off of so he's clearly guessing on this one. And that's not a good thing considering he works for the team and has insiders. People might assume because of his connections that there could be some weight behind this. And yes, there could be some weight behind this, but you have nothing to go off of so it's not fair to McC to do that.

A bunch of idiots!!!!! Just keep quiet till there is something to talk about. I am talking about those in Redskin Park. Giving the jackals in the media any tasty tidbits is just going to magnify any situation. Damn derailing building the team doesn't give me much confidence in the front office. Cooley needs to cool it!!!! Geez this is

I really, hate to say it, but that was the first thing I thought about when I first heard about this issue. And unfortunately, it makes a lot of sense. If your putting the gag on the GM and telling him to straighten up and keep his attention on player personnel, it sound exactly like Allen noticed SM not being in a condition to talk to the media.

I hope I'm wrong, but it does make sense.

I am obviously just speculating and I hope he is not dealing with demons.

Re: Trouble in Redskins Park?

I think because of speculation like that it becomes all the more imperative to get Cousins signed to a long term deal and real soon. If they fail to do that, I fear it's going to have a rippling of consequences.

What makes me want to bang my head into a wall over this is our past history. We had no trouble giving out a huge contract to Haynesworth, but now that we actually have a proven commodity at QB you can't pay him? Headscratching.

Alcoholics tend to have a very red tint to their faces and their faces also tend to get kind of puffy. So, I don't want to speculate and hope this is not true whatsoever. I'm just going to go on the premise that this is do or die time for the organization and the gag order is mainly just to shut out the talking heads and the media and focus on the task at hand. Too much is usually said to the media anyway.

Schneed10 02-16-2017 02:32 PM

Re: Trouble in Redskins Park?

Steinberg crushes it:
And so there seem to be three possible results of this speculation:

1. A team employee, on a Dan Snyder-owned radio station, falsely suggested that the team’s general manager relapsed into drinking. That seems not great.

2. A team employee, on a Dan Snyder-owned radio station, correctly guessed that the team’s general manager relapsed into drinking. That, also, seems not great.

3. A team employee was fed unflattering information about the team’s general manager by a palace rival, which he then placed into the public sphere, via a Dan Snyder-owned radio station. That seems both impossibly Machiavellian, and also in-keeping with modern D.C.
There's no reason to believe at this point that it's any more than #1. But yeah, not great.

Have to agree. I am wondering if he indeed does want to go to the 49ers with Kyle or is just after the $$$$ and will bolt. At this point maybe going for 2 first rounders isn't so bad after all.

I wonder how it would go over if I got on the radio and speculated that my CEO or CFO had a substance abuse problem...oh and if they worked right upstairs from me.

To me, this is insane and wreckless speculation. Also, I would think because of the position of Cooley...isn't he an employee of the skins...wouldn't this be handled and a statement from the org warranted? Cooley isn't some other DC media type. Like always, I'm seeing the organizational dysfunction that has been the hallmark of a Snyder lead franchise.

I don't get it...we have been a better franchise since Scott has arrived. Cant we just be happy with that?

Oh great. Same old SS - tease us with "No Comment." You could have said "I can't comment on the other stuff" indicating you just don't know or aren't at liberty to disclose anything.

But, nooooooo ... "I won't comment" indicating you DO know about the "fun" times and/or dysfunction at Redskins Park, but just aren't going to tell us anything -- AND, to be clear, you DO comment by saying "some things never change." Clearly, you are a deeply sadistic troll that likes to torture us by inciting rampant worst case speculation. I hate that I will be refreshing this page every 10 minutes to see if you provide us with another tidbit as to what's really going on. Damn you SS. Damn you to hell!! (Just kidding, please don't leave again! please? please?)

So ...
What "things never change"?
Is there a power struggle going on?
If so, who is on whose side?
Who is winning? Why?
Is Scot McC on his way out?
Is BA threatened by Scot McC?
Does Danny dislike Scot McC?
Does Jay secretly have a Scot McC voodoo doll and pins?
Does Scot secretly have Jay and BA voodoo dolls and pins?
Does BA secretly have a brain??
