Re: Super Bowl 51 Week

The HOF basically has become like the Pro Bowl. It's watered down garbage. Jerry Jones?? That is laughable to me. Jones had to be talked out of drafting Manziel lol. He's a great businessman but Jimmy Johnson is mostly responsible for the success in the early 90's. Once he left the team went downhill.

Kurt Warner?? Not a HOF'er. He didn't have enough seasons where he was dominant. If you look at his career he had probably 4 seasons where he played at a high level. Same with Terrell Davis. Great player but his career was way too short.

The rest of the guys I really don't have an issue with..

How does Jerry Jones get in before "the squire" JKC or Bobby Beathard (7 SB in his resume, 4 won).

It's baffling. Interviews with defensive players from that era - several of whom are in the HOF - say that he was the best OL they faced. It's a travesty.

Is it me or the only difference between the 2016 Redskins and 2016 Falcons is a decent defense and effective running??

At this point it's all politics with the HOF. It's so stupid. As big a pain in the ass as TO was you keep him out? Totally laughable and ridiculous. The HOF to me loses credibility when they do crap like that.

I'm not a big fan of owners getting in the HOF. What do they do that merits them going in the HOF? Jones contributions to me are more in league matters. And Cooke didn't even hire BB, that was Edward Bennett Williams. And he certainly wasn't picking players, that's not the owners job anyway. Should owners go in just cause they hire good people and get out of the way? Like Cooke did? Or like Eddie D. did in SF? I don't think that's worthy of being in the HOF.

Jacoby was a great player for a long period of time. On dominant o-lines. It's not happening for him and it's a shame.

That choice to pass instead of running the clock down and kick the fieldgoal was the worst play calling ever.
To me that's way stupider than Caroll not feeding Lynch the ball.
Because there's no upside in passing the ball in that situation. You don't even care about scoring a TD at that point, a fieldgoal is more than enough...

Hell they could have kneel it down 3 times and kick a forty something yarder...

Kyle deserves a ton of blame, although Ryan knows better than taking the next sack when they were in FG range to go up 2 scores with under 4 minutes left. Complete meltdown by the Atlanta offense. They hung their defense out to dry.

Ryan knows better but as a OC you have to know that anything can happen on a pass play...

To that's a situation where you don't even have a choice. Double tight, I formation, run it up the middle 3 times, in the huddle alert "no fumble, no penalty and we've won", and kick the game killing fieldgoal...

At that point you can't even play call, that's mathematic.

The OC had faith in his MVP QB and his team had been successful all season and all game ,Ryan had the choice of changing plays. If you wanna blame a coordinator blame the defensive coordinator.

Kyle Shanahan?
I remember him.
Hes the guy that had Cooley run the ball two plays in a row for 1/2 a yard.
He's a brilliant coordinator.

The Falcons offense really did hang their defense out to dry. The final time of possession was 40:31 for the Patriots and 23:37 for the Falcons. Almost double the amount of time they controlled the ball. Looking at the stats, you'd think that Matt Ryan had a fantastic game, but this is where numbers should be put into context.

1-8 on third down conversions. Horrible. Couldn't convert a third down to save their lives. Stupid play calling, stupid execution. This game wasn't as much as how Tom Brady won the game, it's more about how fucking inept the Falcons were to actually blow this game. They had to put in some insane effort to lose a game that had them pegged at 97% chance of winning. Say what you want to about the Warriors and Indians in their choke jobs, but those were 3 separate games. This loss would be like the Indians blowing a 10 game lead in the bottom of the 7th in game 7.

Kyle only had Freeman rush 11 times, and Coleman 7 times. SMH. He's a brilliant guy, but he often tries to be too cute and ends up failing badly. I imagine his tenure in San Francisco won't last long at all.

Niner fans think he's the Savior to all of their problems.. He won't have the talent he had in DC or ATL anytime soon out there. I think he has potential to be a damn good HC though, dude is smart and gets his players in great positions to succeed, as he did in Washington with RG3. Look at what he's done since Kyle left? Zero. So we'll see. Last night was on the whole Atlanta team

No. They were on the what...22 yard line? You don't throw the ball...you run it twice, eat clock and kick it. You provide a lift psychologically to the defense. That sequence cost them the game and its on Kyle.

Just like Pete should have run Lynch.

Like Ive watched Sean McVay many times do, Kyle went bitch mode. he bitched out. At one time in the 3rd quarter, the Falcons were averging 6.8 yards per run.

Re: Super Bowl 51 Week

There are so many plays that lost the game for Atl. But after the ridiculous catch by Jones that's when you run the ball and if you get to 3rd down call a real safe pass or even a draw. But you have to get 3 there and the game is most likely over.

So tired of Author Blank coming down on the sidelines. He looks like such a attention grabbing tool when he does that.
