Re: East champs!!! You like that???!!!
Awesome! Like FRPLG said everything from here is gravy. I honestly can't believe we already wrapped up the title with 1 game left in the season. Who would have thought?

Re: East champs!!! You like that???!!!
Gruden really has a tough decision next week. Does he rest starters? Or try and keep the momentum going?
|
Re: East champs!!! You like that???!!!
One of the best parts of winning the NFC East is not seeing news reports about Redskins drama. Mike Florio wrote an article "Plenty of G.M. jobs could open up after the season, too". He names 13 teams that could change GM's in the offseason. It's nice not worrying about looking for a new coach or GM. We can work on building the team and becoming better in the offseason.

Re: East champs!!! You like that???!!!
If McCloughan doesn't get some serious consideration for executive of the year something's not right. He's definitely changed the culture here almost overnight.

This a nice problem to have. Rest only the injured. Everyone else should play. |
Re: East champs!!! You like that???!!!
I'd play the starters for a quarter or two. Get a couple of scores on the board and then get them out.
|
Re: East champs!!! You like that???!!!
Personally, I would sit cousins, djax, Trent, Moses and Matt jones on offense. Hatcher and anybody who maybe nicked up on defense
|
Re: East champs!!! You like that???!!!
I'd get kirk his 16th straight td and then get them out. But I'm also greedy because I want to see the starters live next week. If not o well I just want to win

I say rest your banged up players, they need to be ready for the playoffs instead of a meaningless game. TWilliams Moses Jones Hatcher Goldston DJax Breeland All should get a weeks rest |
Re: East champs!!! You like that???!!!
We should beat dallas even with backups for a half. They are bad and dez is done for the season also.
|
Re: East champs!!! You like that???!!!
Jason peters "I pulled myself out of the game because I'm not getting injured for this" wow that's a disgrace

Hell of a culture chip is building. After last night, I can't fucking believe chip traded shady for Kiko...shady much better than Murray and Matthews and Kiko just is garbage |
Re: East champs!!! You like that???!!!
Does anyone have that picture of the skins 600 win? I can't find it but it was on the screen last night during the game.
|
Re: East champs!!! You like that???!!!
Yeah Chico my eagles buddies are so over chip kelly but they believe he will be back.

Will Blackmon, Quinton Dunbar, Deshazor Everette, Mason Foster, Kyshoen Jarret. Dashon Goldson Led the defense with 9 tackles. Will Compton Second with 8. This what good teams do....depth, quality bench. Its been a long time! |
Re: East champs!!! You like that???!!!
Compton is the future at MLB he's a stud!
If McCloughan doesn't get some serious consideration for executive of the year something's not right. He's definitely changed the culture here almost overnight.
Is that just based on what's happened on the field, or things in the locker room and outside the stadium?
Would love if this team stopped being the kind of team Ryan Clark and others could say "they aren't serious about football." |
Re: East champs!!! You like that???!!!
I am really happy we have a GM now that is not only tested and true, but has already made a big impact on our franchise in a single offseason. He won't be flawless, no one is, but it's hard to ignore how much has been accomplished already.
Also, I hope that this starts a run of solid teams put on this field for awhile. Despite this team's mini-run to secure a playoff team the overall reaction by the media is still to clown this organization as a laughing stock. |
Re: East champs!!! You like that???!!!
They are in, and now a new season begins. I hope we play Seattle. Their offense doesn't scare me, and I think this Redskins offense can score on any defense....and we're at home!
|
Re: East champs!!! You like that???!!!
Yes, I like that! Division champions? I LIKE THAT!!!!

The Redskins have developed the tendacy to choke when playing Seattle in the playoffs....in 2005, 2007, & 2012 the Seahawks beat us in the playoffs...I think this team we have now are more solid than those previous Redskins teams...we can beat the Seahawks this time. |

Re: East champs!!! You like that???!!!
Wouldn't it be sweet to still beat the Cowboys with backups?! Man, that would be about 10 lbs. of icing on an over-iced cake.
|
Re: East champs!!! You like that???!!!
I would like to point out that since the 'infamous' RGIII trade, the Redskins have been to the playoffs twice while the Rams have not been at all. I'm not saying that it was a 'good' trade, but it is nice to know it hasn't set this franchise back for years as everyone said it would. Props to Jay Gruden and Scot McCloughan for getting this team going back in the right direction
|
Re: East champs!!! You like that???!!!
Yep and the rams have really nothing to show for it. I mean they have a few good players put if it but still no wins

They have a mediocre coach who loves to talk shit. |
Re: East champs!!! You like that???!!!
it's amazing how when you hire a great football guy to make your football decisions, things just start to work themselves out.
i'm still not sure jay is more than a c+ coach, but he was able to do the right thing and put the best players on the field. the only real downside is that kirk's going to end up getting paid a lot of money... but they are worse things, like watching RGIII missing open receivers all day. |
Re: East champs!!! You like that???!!!
as for resting starters, i think it's kind of important to keep the train moving, so i'd play them for a half or until we're up by 14 or something. we also have a ton of injuries still, especially on the OL, so outside of trent, everyone else is going to have to play there regardless.

Rams certainly got some really good players, but they haven't done a damn thing with all the players they got. Still can't seem to get their QB situation straight. |

I think you play the guys that are healthy, ride the momentum and try to get 9 wins. |
Re: East champs!!! You like that???!!!
I'm not scared of any team in the nfc playoff picture cept the cardinals. Carolina, minny, Seattle, Green Bay are all very beatable...

The Cards are scary good, if they don't end up in the SB I'll be surprised. |
Re: East champs!!! You like that???!!!
I just don't see how u guys don't believe in Carolina? 14-1 and have a very strong team. They embarrassed us. I do agree about arz but I'm not counting the cats out

They've lost some players, the cards are better. They beat the shit out of GB today and they lost their best player Matthieu. |
Re: East champs!!! You like that???!!!
I think the Cardinals are the best of the NFC right now. Carolina is really good, but out of all the teams in the playoffs or 'in the hunt' still, Arizona is the team I would not like to play...until the NFC Championship of course...

Re: East champs!!! You like that???!!!
I think we have to rest everybody we can. I see no reason to put anybody at risk for a few drives or quarters. I'm not kidding I'd start Rob. Let him have a chance to show he's healthy. The opinion of him couldn't be lower so if he did anything good at all it would be to our benefit and honestly id like to see him one more time. It may not have worked out but 2012 was magic thanks to him and I hope he can go somewhere next year and get himself on the field. It just can't be anywhere in the NFCE.

Im with you. AZ and Carolina are both great. Ill just give the edge to the team with the MVP, homefield throughout, and one less loss. |

You can't play RG. One bad hit, and we lose 16M in cap space, which we likely need to sign Cousins. |
