Re: The good, the better, and the best Skins vs Aints postgame thread
I thought Long was actually playing really well yesterday. Whenever I saw a block being made downfield, he was almost always part of it.

Re: The good, the better, and the best Skins vs Aints postgame thread
Everyone played well, still seems like a dream. After the Saints 1st drive they only scored 7 more points. And that only occurred on a big play on busted coverage. Pretty good resolve by the defense after such a bad start.

I still can't remember the last time I could truly enjoy a game without a weird anxious pit in my stomach. Maybe the time we beat the Lions by like 40 points years ago?
WTF kind of great surprise has Morgan Moses been this year.....
Coaching coaching coaching. We have a top OLine Coach Callahan. Can't wait to see what he does with the young guys on our roster like Kouandijo |
Hoping that Moses / Scherf is a combination that stays with us for many, many years. With T. Williams locked up, we have the potential for a dominate O-line for years to come.
With the vast cap space we will have next year, I say we target Alex Mack as our C in FA. This line would be as good or better than the Cowboys with Mack in there. |
Great: Cousins and Oline had a great day. Our kicker is out of control...Jay and McVay great great great
Good: Crowder has a chance to be really damn good. Jones and Alfmo...that's the one-two punch I expected. Thompson too getting in the act. Best: But to me, Defense was the biggest story. I just didn't expect that. We kept a HOF QB off balance with good concepts in coverage and limited the run outside that Ingram carry. This time we also made those INT catches instead of dropping them.
The whole team got bottles of Stick'em in their lockers after the New England game. |

IF Callahan stays, and I hope he does, I expect we will draft a strong center either 1st or 2nd round, and I would be good with that - draftniks be damned. |

We need help at ILB, S, DT/DE the first three picks should be used to address those positions, I would rather in this case sign a pro bowl C who would be plug and play. |

I remember that game. There was also the Dallas game at home where Cooley went off and we needed to win to get in. We Want Dallas chant in full effect pre game. The Jags game was good but Griff got hurt in that one rite? |
Actually, I think it was Cousins who found money on the field today. Like $8M a year-type money.
Hey Kirk -- you like that?
Haha yep, maybe, probably I heard them saying on the postgame show they need to make him an offer now before he hits free agency |
Re: The good, the better, and the best Skins vs Aints postgame thread
Great game all around.Hard to get too excited because it was the Saints but still.
Great seeing Cousins be able to give the ball to his dad{who's got cancer} after game. It was also a nice surprise to me to see Tim Hightower in the game for the Saints.I always liked him,and I dont think he's played in the NFL since playing for the skins in 2011.But after the game he had yesterday he might not play again |

The pick 6 was just awesome, I was almost in disbelief at that point in the game

Yeah I was too. It's like I am conditioned to not expect those kind of bounces, and I find myself waiting for the PI or holding call if we do get a bounce like that... |

Re: The good, the better, and the best Skins vs Aints postgame thread
That was the BEST Redskins day in a long time. When was the last time that we not only played a cut above our competition, but the rest of the NFC East fell on their faces? And they happened in a row so you could see us win, then 1 by 1 the other 3 fail. It was GREEEAAAAATTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: The good, the better, and the best Skins vs Aints postgame thread
With all the postgame euphoria about Cousins and the rest of the team that played: Kudos to RG3 and RG2. Unlike what a lot of other people, including Desean Jackson, would have done, the Griffins have AFAIK stayed classy and not distracted the team.
I really wish we could roll back the clock to 2012, get RG3 back running the Shanahan offense where we pull him sooner for injury and don't rush him back in. But that ship has sailed away. Good luck to RG3, playing here or elsewhere. |
Re: The good, the better, and the best Skins vs Aints postgame thread
Whats the word on Jackson anyway? Is he hurt again? I never saw him come back in the game yesterday
|
Re: The good, the better, and the best Skins vs Aints postgame thread
I think he came back in a few minutes later.....

I want to draft a guard in the first round......every year
Scherff....is a badass |
Re: The good, the better, and the best Skins vs Aints postgame thread
He cracks me up cause he plays SO nasty, but his face just stays the same. It's not like he's angry. He just wrecks shop then walks back to the huddle like this:

Yes , not Jacoby / Grimm at the moment , however very impressive considering neither had started an NFL game prior to this year. Considering that our we have lost our Center and LG ..... very impressed with the OL . |
Re: The good, the better, and the best Skins vs Aints postgame thread
It will be interesting to be sure to see how they acquit themselves against the Panthers....
They have done pretty well against some pretty good D lines. |
Re: The good, the better, and the best Skins vs Aints postgame thread
I've been a doubter on KC, but a perfect passer rating is damn impressive! I'm most impressed with our draft class this last year. Just think how good we will be after another year or two of impressive drafting by McLovin'. This next game will be another test of this rapidly improving team.
Finally it was just beautiful to win a game so decisively. No waiting for the last play to see if our kicker can make a 56 yard FG to tie or win the game. What we need now is a winning streak to gain us some momentum! HTTR |
