Re: Who's your pick's for next HC, DC and OC?
We shouldn't be focusing on a college coach though. We should be going for a guy that has NFL experience.
Who would you focus on more? A offensive minded coach or defensive minded? |
Re: Who's your pick's for next HC, DC and OC?
^ I'd rather go with Offensive minded because in Today's league u have to be able to score 25 PPG in order to win. Our O isn't garbage but it's basically middle of the pack
|
Re: Who's your pick's for next HC, DC and OC?
Looks like that seat is getting hot.
@HTTR24_7 So this rumor is making the rounds.Ex-Coach in a production meeting said Skins reached out to gauge his interest in a return. He did follow up with this: @HTTR24_7 Honestly I don't know if that's true. Seems bizarre because the coach who supposedly said it isn't the coach you would naturally assume |
Re: Who's your pick's for next HC, DC and OC?
I like defensive minded coaches, but obviously both offensive and defensive minded coaches have proven to be exceptional superbowl winning coaches.
I just hope the next coach focuses on the OLine and Defensive front because both of those aspects need improvement in order for the Skins to be contenders. |

That's the way of the league. We need an Off mind that understands a QB throws the ball, WR's don't line up in the backfield, 2nd or 3rd and 15 is no time for phony play action, losing by 10+pts is no time to go 3 and out passively. We need somebody blood thirsty to score points and win.
I hope it's not Raheem Morris. He does an awful job coaching the worst position on our team. Our secondary regularly blows their assignment and the guy running them is seen as a potential successor? That said, I don't think Shanny is done -- nor should he be. We're still better today than we were when he took over. Much better. He also did that while losing 36M to the salary cap.
Raheem seems like too much of a friend to these guys. I'm sorry but if DHall supports him, then I don't. Morris is not Tomlin. Morris clearly is another failed hC on our staff.
Gregg "bounty" Williams will never coach again.
Gregg!!! Bring him back. His absence opened the door for Zorn and we had to pay extra $millions b/c it was in his contract to be groomed as our HC. Way to botch that Snyder-rrato.
Dave Toub, Mike Zimmer. Would have loved Rob Chudzinski.
I believe in Zimmer. He's got the Greg Williams swagger. I forget which of you said Kyle will land on his feet somewhere. F'k Kyle. It would be fun to watch him fly out the door and bounce around until he landed on another go nowhere team. Mike is done in the nfl unless a team like JAX is desperate. He will not be inducted into the HOF. Highest paid coach with 1 winning year on the back of his workhorse who got ruined in < 1st season. Way to groom the future and broker the future at the same time d-wad. |
Re: Who's your pick's for next HC, DC and OC?
Actually...it could be Brian Billick. Yuck.
Remember when Snyder was dying for Jim Fassel? And us skin fans went nuts when that news came out so Snyder hired Zorn instead. Wonder if we go for Fassel again. |
Re: Who's your pick's for next HC, DC and OC?
It's a shame we can't package a deal a d trade coaches.
|
Re: Who's your pick's for next HC, DC and OC?
Bill O'Brien anyone? He knows offense, he's got pro experience, he's innovative, he's aggressive in calling plays and he can lead men. I love the way he got all up in Brady's face when Brady tried to blame the wr for a int. Not sure how he's winning at Penn State but he's doing it. If I'm Dan Synder I'm picking up the phone and giving him a call.

I don't want him, but over Gruden (Jon) I would rather have Cowher over him. Anyway I'm going to be watching CFB even more closely now to see what players would help us next year. And I've already started looking at Free Agents for next year. Byrd And Talib anyone? |

Re: Who's your pick's for next HC, DC and OC?
A couple others mentioned Art Briles, he would also be a good fit. Love his offense, spread it out most of the time, but use smash-mouth inside the Red Zone. RG3 would get back into a comfort zone quickly with him at the helm.
yep we all laughed at Chip Kelly but his offense is one of the best in the nfl
I'm still not sold on it. He's cut down on the fast paced read option offense that he ran against us week 1. He's realizing that he doesn't have teenagers running around, he's got older grown men. He also realizes that he's getting his QBs killed with the read option so he's cut that down a lot. Also he hasn't played many good defenses or teams, and when he does he loses (or gets blown out like Denver and KC) |
Re: Who's your pick's for next HC, DC and OC?
ArtBriles makes sense. Why not build around Robert? Rob has to be everything to this team. Snyder has to have Bruce and rob in his office and do what Michael Irvin did when Jimmie Johnson showed up- point out all the weak spots, show who are paycheck recipients only, cut dead weight, and go win Super Bowls.

What about a defensive minded HC who can manage the team like a CEO, but with an offensive mastermind running the offense? |
Re: Who's your pick's for next HC, DC and OC?
hc - lane kiffin
oc - jim zorn dc - london fletcher dream team |
Clearly the only choices are Lovie Smith or Jack Del Rio
Del Rio, no. Lots of turmoil and OC/DC changes in CHI under Lovie. Martz resigned because of him. He would have to come in as strictly a HC....and not take on DC duties.
Not particularly fond of this option. |
Re: Who's your pick's for next HC, DC and OC?
Del Rio? lol
I remember when some of the same people in here bashed the coaches for dropping to get Kerrigan and not picking up Blaine Gabbart. The only coaching change to be considered right now is the coach that teaches RG3 how to read the defense, and make the right throws. Bad clock management at the end of the half? Sure was, but iv'e seen a lot worse from "Super Bowl Coaches" For instance, how about calling 4 consecutive run plays on the goal and not getting in. When you have your recently paid franchise QB in there? Coaches make mistakes.. It happens... Even on the dropped pass to Morris. People were screaming for Helu to be in the game. The same people who wanted to know why Morris couldn't be involved in the passing game more. The revolving door coaching approach is tiresome, and till we start having players make the plays. It wont ****ing matter who the head coach is... Everyone busted Danny Smiths balls last year... Well, it's not looking to much greener at the moment. |

There have been at least 17 coaching changes after MS was hired. This doesn't include any coaches hired in the same off-season as MS. These are the players MS has brought in, if they're consistently not making plays then the HC's talent-evaluation skills should be called into question. |
