Re: MLB 2013 Season
Too many injuries for the Nats!
|
Re: MLB 2013 Season
Say it with me "The Nats aren't winning the world series this year...the Nats aren't winning the world series this year.."
|
Re: MLB 2013 Season
That means I'm gonna need the Orioles to step it up this year.
|
Re: MLB 2013 Season
Sounds like the Nats are letting Espinosa and Rodriguez go
|
Re: MLB 2013 Season
What do you mean by "letting go"? As in not worrying about re-signing them, sending them down to AAA regardless of their contracts, or like actually cutting them?
Two years ago I debated which Nats jersey to get. I wanted a position player and althoug I like Zimmerman and I loved Pudge I wanted to get a young player's jersey so it would last awhile. At a game, I debated between Desmond and Espinosa and Danny just happened to hit a huge HR so I went with his jersey. Happens ever time.... |
Re: MLB 2013 Season
rule no.1 you got to have a better replacement in line if your gonna let someone go, ie designate for assignment, waiver, etc. Rodriguez is outta options.
To be honest Im a little surprised. |

Re: MLB 2013 Season
im sure they can find a trade partner...more surprised with espinosa

Re: MLB 2013 Season
As in their lockers have been cleaned out and they've been designated for assignment, basically waived
Interesting. I can't say I'm completely surprised because they've both been dog-poo this season, but still! You'd think someone would give up something for either of them based on their "potential".
Guess I won't be wearing that Espi jersey to the game tonight! Edit - just saw this in the comments section of the Post' Nats Insider:
Nationals PR @NationalsPR 31s Nationals add Werth, Rendon (recall, AAA), Ian Krol (selected, AA) to roster. Place Espinosa on DL (right wrist), DFA Rodriguez and Duke.
|
Re: MLB 2013 Season
Geez, apparently Zack Duke my have been let go too! The wheels are coming off quickly!
|
Re: MLB 2013 Season
Interesting on Espinosa. First I heard was DFA, but maybe (apparently) I had heard wrong
|
Re: MLB 2013 Season
Interesting on Espinosa. First I heard was DFA, but maybe (apparently) I had heard wrong
I keep seeing DL, but it's also saying his locker has been cleared (like you said) so the twitter guesses seem to be that he's in for a long DL stint, possibly after surgery.
Fun times. |
Re: MLB 2013 Season
still have no clue as to why Dan Haren hasn't been released.
|
Re: MLB 2013 Season
Sounds like some major news could be coming shortly from MLB, Nats possibly involved

Re: MLB 2013 Season
Sweet justice for Braun...but the bigger name is A-Rod. What a career. All the talent in the world and a flat out jerk. Its gonna end with a 2nd steroid case and a large suspension. Cant believe he stole all that money, twice. Only the yankees.

From a World Series contender last year to injuries galore and letting go of key players. Yikes. |

Immediately after the Nationals lost to the Reds 15-0 this season and commentators said "The worst loss in the history of the Nationals" (and we've had some very bad teams) I immediately said that the Nationals are NOT winning a world series this year. |

That'd be more impressive if you said that before the loss. To make a statement like the immediately after a 15-0 loss...I mean I'm sure many were saying that at that moment |

Funny. But I've been around sports too much my whole life to not know what I'm talking about. Predictions of mine are...predictions. |

Yeah I know what you mean. I'm just saying that game is what put the final nail in the coffin for me. |

That's was their first loss of the year. It was like the 3rd game of a 162 game season. That was the final nail in the coffin for you? Harsh |

Yeah, I can be harsh on teams sometimes, the future of DC Sports is bright, but not all teams can win their respective championships so soon. Also I thought (but didn't put it down on paper or anything) that whenever a team is so heavily favored or picked by the media to win the world series (SI has us winning it all) that pressure gets to teams. So already right there, I was hesitant. Add in the worst loss in franchise history and that we got rid of a great player in Michael Morse and that was the 3 strikes for me to count them out. We never should have sat Strasburg in the playoffs. That I was against and put on paper. |

Its been heard by friends and put down on other blogs/internet outlets I belong to. None of which I'm going to tell you about. You really have a vendetta against me. You really take citing sources seriously. Jez... |

lol...you know some posters here already have nail-in-hand and are leaning over the coffin as we speak waiting for that first play of the first preseason game: Morris off the right for 1 yard gain and the nail is driven in while cursing at the tv "f*ck Kyle" |

Re: MLB 2013 Season
Bryce Harper went super saiyan tonight.
Crushing it in the final round right now. edit: fizzled out a bit the last 5 outs. |
Re: MLB 2013 Season
I tried tuning in for the HR derby but Berman ruined it for me in about 2 minutes.

Yeah he sucks BUT it has been a good Derby |
Re: MLB 2013 Season
Looks like Cespedes is going to take this. Tied with 5 outs still left. He's crushing it tonight.
|
Re: MLB 2013 Season
...and there you have it. Good run by Harper, but that was a show by Cespedes.
