I'm calling blowout
Redskins 42 Ram 10 RG3: 350 Yds, 3 Passing TDs, 1 Rushing TD, 0 INTs -- they sit him with about 10 minutes left in the fourth and we get to see Kirk |
Re: Redskins vs Rams predictions
I predict we win :)
Not worried about RGIII throwing an INT here and there, because he's a playmaker and this offense knows how to score. INTs by Rex/Beck were a killer because that offense struggled mightily to put points on the board. Also, Griffin's INTs are likely to happen on bombs down the field so the opponent doesn't start with great field position. Previous INTs/turnovers often happened close or even BEHIND the LOS...geez I'm glad those days are over. |

Re: Redskins vs Rams predictions
Skins 27 Rams 19 (because our D forces FGs instead of TDs). I think the Rams D is probably better than what we saw last week, and so I would not expect 40 points. But we ought to win and it will be more of a nail biter than any of us would like.

Re: Redskins vs Rams predictions
I'm in a Survivor League and I normally pick "sure things" each week, which generally means I avoid the Redskin game. Last week the Texans over the Dolphins was just too easy, but honestly this Redskins@Rams game seems like a candidate this week. I don't know the line, but I just think the Skins have more talent and after 60 minutes it will just play out. Another factor for us long suffering Skins fans is the fact that the Skins haven't been able to put points on the board in the past few years for squat! I think win or lose that changes this year and 24-30 points a week will be the norm. I don't think the Rams can score more than 14 points on the Redskins without a ton of turnovers.
Skins 30 Rams 13 |
Re: Redskins vs Rams predictions
I'm in a Survivor League too and picked the Skins this week. Aside from the TB and Vikings games coming up, we won't have another "sure win" until Week 15 against the Browns. The schedule is about to get really tough around Week 5 against Atlanta.
On paper, this is our easiest game of the year. Of course, this is the NFL and any team can win any week. |
Re: Redskins vs Rams predictions
Sorry, but the Rams secondary isn't that great. Courtland Finnegan is not as good as he once was, Janoris Jenkins is a rookie, and their safeties are abysmal. Their front is made up of mediocre linebackers, 2 guys on the DLine, with Quinn, who didn't even start for them last year, and then of course Long the All Pro. I feel that we are going to kick the living shit out of them, due to the fact that they are drained from almost getting a win, but coming up empty handed last week. Meaning for them? That this year will be no different for them than last year. Their offensive line is going to absolutely collapse, and for those of you that like to "predict" injuries, If any quarterback is going to get hurt this game, I'd put my money on Bradford.
Skins make a statement as a true contender for the NFCE crown this week, while all the other three teams in our division lose close games. Skins 42 Rams 22 |
The Rams secondary benefited from playing Stafford who slings the ball more often then looking for accurate shots.

Re: Redskins vs Rams predictions
It didn't hurt that the rams had intimate knowledge of the lions playbook and Staffords tendencies from 2 players on their current roster. Im sure they helped out with recognizing the looks and plays called. Just sayin'. Not saying that Fisher didn't make them better, just that I think that they overachieved after watching their game yesterday. Lots of holes in their defense that the lions did not exploit. Lets remember that preparing for RG3 is much different than that of Stafford. Mobile with a huge arm, above average accuracy and alot of good receivers, versus non mobile with a huge arm average accuracy and only one great receiver.
That with the way we played on Sunday, I still hold to the blowout. That close loss had to take some wind out of their sails. |

Re: Redskins vs Rams predictions
IMO -- two of the three picks should not have been thrown and were really bad reads by Stafford. RG3 had a ball that should have been picked off in the end zone but was dropped so hopefully he irons that out.
I agree that there is a let down factor but going up against the Rams in St. Louis just isn't as intimidating as going against the Saints in the Superdome. That's why the offense doesn't have to play as well as they did against the Saints to win the matchup. Secondly, the Saints offense scored 25 points on the defense and Drew Brees had a pretty good game statwise (~340 Yards, 3 TDs, 2 INTS -- one of which was on the last hail mary so doesn't really count). His weapons included Graham, Colston, Sproles which along with their awesome OL is not even comparable to the Rams offense. This stinks of a possible letdown game which will end up being a lopsided affair in the Redskins' favor. HTTR |

Re: Redskins vs Rams predictions
This one is all about the defense and the running game. Redskins put up 250+ yards rushing with a three-headed attack and the defense keeps the Rams to under 250 total yards. Skins win 27-12

Re: Redskins vs Rams predictions
Ok, so .... I keep hearing how the Rams D is pretty good, but it will be fun to see how they will react to RG3 and our offensive scheme. I wouldn't say N.O. was too shabby. No they didn't really have game film to watch but Orakpo has come out and said the new added plays has been difficult for even them (Redskins Defense) to contain.
But we have also heard that the Rams have no offense because they have no weapons. Stop the run and you've stopped the Rams. I'm in for 10 points a quarter again, but MS and Fischer are friends, the Rams although expensive did trade with us, and did I mention Fischer is MS's friend? I think MS keeps the score somewhat decent here. Yeah we get ahead early and fast then simply keep the lead. However.... MS might want to make a statement to the league..... 30-24 Redskins. |

Here's the thing, although in the past we would always play down to our competition, we never had Robert before. Not saying he will definately play lights out, but his enthusiasum will be enough to keep our O going and we win.

Skins make a statement as a true contender for the NFCE crown this week, while all the other three teams in our division lose close games. Skins 42 Rams 22
Heres what I have to say about that, last year we were 3-1, things looked bright, then we fell off the face of the earth and did awful losing 6 straight. So I'll say this. We and the rest of the NFC East, and the NFL won't be talking us as contenders until at least week 8. (Then again under zorn we did start 6-2, but we have better coaching and a better QB now so I'll dispute that exception to the rule.) I'm just trying to put a lid on all this optimism, because all it takes people is one play for this super dooper absotively positively already fun season to go down the crapper and turn the "RG3's the best QB in the league," to "Fire Shanahan! We're cursed" |

Re: Redskins vs Rams predictions
Let me say if the redskins win against the rams- whatever they score, it will be well-deserved because the rams are a tough and underrated team. While i believe the redskins are going to win, I think this game will be a good gauge and test.
And btw - the redskins are only 3 point favorites. |

I prefer being underdogs like the Saints. That way when we win its awesome and shouldnt of happen and they talk about it all week. I jave to be honest. All the RG3 talk has kept me busy and my cowboy lover friends hating lol

Re: Redskins vs Rams predictions
21-10 Skins. The dump passes and options are only going to last so long. By week 3, the rest of the leauge will be on the lookout for it. I say Banks returns one, and Morris gets one on the ground....i hope (I have to start him in fantasy this week). Griffen will get one through the air.

Re: Redskins vs Rams predictions
I saw Redskins great Gary Clark on TV last night where he predicted that the Skins would easily beat the Rams on Sunday. He said, "I'll guarantee it".
Clark also predicted that the Skins would finish the season with a record of 11-5! He appeared on Tony McGee's Pro Football Plus show on MASN. |
Re: Redskins vs Rams predictions
We need to run the ball. Torrain ran wild on the Rams last year.
2-0 with both wins coming against the NFC would be pretty sweet! |

Louis has some talent on defense so I hope our guys are aggresive and play as if this were an NFC East game . If we can hold S. Jackson in check , we should wear them down and win . |
Re: Redskins vs Rams predictions
I just hope we go up there whip their arse by 17 like a good team should and get out with no injuries.
