Re: 2011-2012 NCAA Basketball Thread
VCU is the all I have left as far as caring about this tournament. GO RAMS!
Between Boeheim and Jim Calhoun, I cant figure out who I hate more. Both are major league assholes. Got no sympathy for those two and their cheating ass programs. Melo looks so damn stupid, doubt he can read
This. Big ups to VCU on that win. Glad I picked them. :P |
Re: 2011-2012 NCAA Basketball Thread
Honestly I didnt think we were gonna win going into the game. Awesome and very well played game. Shockingly i feel like we won with down low inside shots, something we havent really done all year.
VCU is the 9th youngest team in the country with just 1 senior. We could be somthing very special over the next couple years.
eff that, time is now. Indiana is vunerable, but played well last night. We are gonna have to play a lil faster on offense, we were too slow the second half last night. The pace the first half was perfect, Rams need to maintain that same type of play |
Re: 2011-2012 NCAA Basketball Thread
people keep sleeping on these Virginia mid major teams. they can flat out play with anybody, ask Missouri
|
Re: 2011-2012 NCAA Basketball Thread

Re: 2011-2012 NCAA Basketball Thread
Enjoy it now VCU fans. Shaka Smart will be in Illinois next year. Or somewhere else.
Can't wait to see my Gators run Norfolk State off the court tomorrow and head to the sweet 16! |
Re: 2011-2012 NCAA Basketball Thread
At VCU its a tradition. if Shaka leaves, someone will step in and continue it.

Re: 2011-2012 NCAA Basketball Thread
Three major upsets yesterday. #Brackbusters

Re: 2011-2012 NCAA Basketball Thread
I just wanna say, my brackets are royally F'd now.
Sighs. |
Re: 2011-2012 NCAA Basketball Thread
I take that back. Judging from my Warpath bracket, I'm actually doing pretty well. Maybe I won't crash and burn this year.
|
Re: 2011-2012 NCAA Basketball Thread
My bracket has more red than I can ever remember, but if luck is on my side I could still somehow end up with 7 of the 8 teams in the Elite 8.
Bad break literally for UNC. I had them picked to lose to Kentucky in the last game. LEHIGH! |

Yeah obliviously the better situation is Shaka stays, but if he leaves its definitely not the end of the world. Not only are we used to it we get benefits because of it; like scheduling 2 games against a team like Illinois that would otherwise prove impossible. Also lets pretend that Shaka wanted to stay w VCU for something crazy like 10+ years. If he left after a long time it would cause major disruption. When turnover is inevitable a mid length time horizon is best. If he does end up staying I think we will start next season ranked in the top 25 or at least receive a considerable amount of votes to be. Next year we also start the season off with a extremely rare chance that allows a hot mid-major to play teams like Duke, Memphis, Stanford, Louisville, Missouri, Minnesota, and Kansas in a Thanksgiving day tourney. We also get Alabama when Grant makes his contractual homecoming. Last year it didn’t make a lot of sense for Shaka to take a gamble to increase his stock. Next year it actually does. not a good job, "smart" choice |
Re: 2011-2012 NCAA Basketball Thread
My bracket looks like a Christmas decoration. One side is almost all green, the other side almost all red.
Glad I didn't abandon Syracuse like the "experts" suggested when they lost Melo. I had them in the Final Four but backed them up to losing to Ohio State in the Elite 8. So far, so good. If the Tar Heels lose to the Ohio Bobcats, I'm going to wreck something though. I have Kentucky beating UNC in the final. What about "y'all"? Anyone see Wisconsin's last shot last night? Geesh...worst idea ever. They were chucking shots from 10 feet behind the arc all game though. They deserved to lose. |

how about those cards? love me some louisville

Re: 2011-2012 NCAA Basketball Thread
My Gators are ROLLING right now. 3 combined wins by over 70 points. Playing lockdown D, and Bradley Beal is a monster.
I think we've got a great shot to beat Louisville and go the Final Four. |
Re: 2011-2012 NCAA Basketball Thread
Man Florida went cold in the 2nd from the 3 point line.
|
Re: 2011-2012 NCAA Basketball Thread
I have Kentucky, UNC, OSU, and Louisville in my Final 4. Got two right today, but I think I'm going to lose out on the UNC bid. Not sure Marshall is going to play and I don't think they pull it off without him.

They controlled the whole game, up until they were up 10 with less than 7 minutes to play... as pissed it away. Billy D still can't beat Pitino. Damn frustrating. |
Florida should have won but boy pitino owns Donovan

Re: 2011-2012 NCAA Basketball Thread
Stupid Louisville. For the past several years I've picked them multiple times to be a Final Four team, if not National Champions.
This year, I decided I'd be disappointed no more and picked them to lose to Davidson in the 1st round....sigh |

I hope Louisville wins

Jeez, good call on that, did you pick those 4 from the start? |
Re: 2011-2012 NCAA Basketball Thread
Anyone else feel like this was the worst championship game in some time? And almost 930 on a Monday is painfull for me. Possibly the worst National Anthem ive ever heard before too, i didnt realize the NCAAM was going after the same demographic as an all ages show at Scenester's Bar & Grill.
But besides the last game, i felt like this was a great tournement. I won my office pool for the first time too...... all 25 dollars of it after my entry fee..... NEXT YEAR! ESPN pre-season poll: Andy Katz: Indiana Hoosiers will continue moving up in 2012-13 - ESPN I honestly think we are a little high for Drexel not to be included, or at least be on the cusp. Kind of hard to justify 2 CAA teams though. |

Told you they wouldn't without Marshall. I saw that coming from a mile away. Barnes isn't the same player without Marshall. He can't create his shot that well, so I don't see him excelling at the next level. Marshall on the other hand should do very well. |
Re: 2011-2012 NCAA Basketball Thread
Jeez, good call on that, did you pick those 4 from the start?
Yes. UNC would have been in there had it not been for Marshall's injury. He is the catalyst for that team. edit: Those were my picks for the Warpath NCAA Tourny bracket. |

Does VCU stay too? or does ODU take GMU place and VCU make the jump together? |
