Dmek, he was traded because the management chose to pay Lavar Arrington over Bailey. If we would have paid him top dollar he would of stayed here. He didn't leave because of free will, he was traded.
I think you are undervaluing talent if you think he has slipped that far.
He was traded because when Joe Gibbs got here he asked who all wanted to go. Champ said that he'd rather leave because he got tired of the changes. He could've gotten his money here, but he was ready to leave which worked out because this team needed a running back at the time. So believe me it was because of free will, the team just gave him what he wanted and that was a change of scenery. |
Champ Bailey back in DC anybody? New regiem maybe posible... I think he'll be cheaper than Namdi and would complement the core group if we can't resign Carlos.
Possible - - but highly unlikely. Bailey's exit from Washington was "less than cordial" on both sides of the table. Indeed, he will be "cheaper than Nnamdi"; but I think he will be elsewhere... |

If they get Los and D Hall back next year they won't need him that badly. IF Los walks and they need another CB, maybe they pursue him a little harder and offer him a nice deal he would be less likely to pass up?! |

I read Champ is in negotiations for an extension in denver.

Re: Offseason Shopping
Does anyone here know if Lyle Sendline, the Center for the Cardinals is a good fit for the Zone Blocking Scheme? Same question goes for Ryan Kahlil.
|
Re: Offseason Shopping
I've heard people talking on here about Kahlil coming here. I think he would def be an upgrade over Rabach. At this point anyone probably would be though. Haven't heard Sendline's name mentioned. I hope he wasn't apart of the QB play for the Cardinals last year. I know it was a pretty weak group to begin with, but just sayin'.....
Offensive line Who’s here now: Casey Rabach, Erik Cook, Will Montgomery, Derrick Dockery, Artis Hicks, Kory Lichtensteiger, Jammal Brown, Trent Williams, Selvish Capers, Stephon Heyer Tandler: Dockery, Heyer and Brown are headed out. Dockery spent most of the season on the inactive list after losing his starting job to Lichtensteiger. He is not a good fit for a zone-blocking scheme, and although the team will try to trade him, it may not find many takers for his contract, which has an average salary of $4.7 million per year for the next three years. Heyer and Brown are unrestricted free agents. It’s difficult to see the Redskins trying very hard to keep Heyer, who has proven to be a less than adequate reserve. The Redskins do want Brown to come back, but the feeling here is that he will get an offer to play left tackle, at left tackle money, and he will be gone. O’Halloran: Dockery and Hicks are headed out. This is the main spot where players will return not because of their performance but more so because, well, you can’t replace all 22 starting positions. Dockery is definitely gone, and he seemed resigned to it late in the year. He was the classic square peg in a round hole, exactly like Andre Carter trying to play linebacker. The Redskins hoped Hicks would be a stopgap at right guard, but he eventually lost his job to Montgomery. I’ll go the other way on Heyer. Mike Shanahan was effusive in his praise of Heyer throughout the season, and although he’s not a starter, he can plug a hole as a fill-in player. The same goes for Brown. If the Redskins go quarterback in the first two rounds, it probably means they’re not going offensive line. Brown’s play improved in the second half of the season, and he has to realize he’s not getting big money from anybody so he might as well stay put.
:soapbox: GET RID OF RABACH!!!!!!! Re: Offseason Shopping
Casey Rabach must have incriminating evidence on the entire coaching staff, front office, and ownership that keeps his job safe. I have never seen such a mediocre player have great job security. Not looking forward to another season of him getting blasted by DTs and NTs.
|
Re: Offseason Shopping
Who says Rabach has job security? Check the details of the contract he signed last year, it's clearly set up for the team to make a clean break this offseason if they wish.

Let me be sure I have this right... You would strongly prefer that the Redskins get someone else to play center for them next season. Did I interpret your message correctly? |

Lol. Took me a minute to get what the hell you were talking about. ! |
Re: Offseason Shopping
I think he is a true 3-4 nose guard and he shouldn't be all that expensive. I don't see a problem with bringing him in for an inexpensive and shorter termed contract.

Re: Offseason Shopping
I dunno about Shaun Rogers. He was hurt a lot last year but also apparently was rather ineffective even when he was healthy. While we need help at NT, I say pass.
Kenyon Coleman, also released by the Browns, might be a different story. He is aging but he still manages to get it done. He could at least provide depth at DE. |

Re: Offseason Shopping
If this was madden, I'd say yes on Rogers and shift Haynesworth to the DE position. My defensive rating would be off the hook! But in reality both are cancerous head cases who would mess up what we are trying to build.

Re: Offseason Shopping
We already tried a veteran NT with question marks on his health (Kemo) and it didn't work out that well. No thanks.
On a sidenote, I read somewhere that both the Broncos and Browns are moving to the 4-3 defense (ESPN mock draft article) has anyone heard more about this? Just curious. |

Am I the only one wondering why other teams seem to find these gems and the Redskins just seem to be rolling along oblivious?

I wonder if the coaching staff feels like they are knocking on the "scouts" door and no one is answering with a sign on the outside saying "Will be back soon." |
