If the former linebacker is actually who I think you're talking about, he's moving to the washingtonpost. Don't know exactly when, or if he'll be giving up his gig on radio. |

He'll keep his radio gig, just adding a blog on the wapo. And also will be doing commentary on some of their webcasts and videos on their site |

After Snyder expanded his radio company he temporarily put John out of work. Maybe Riggo just bashes the Redskins and Snyder now partly due to that?
Snyder has little to nothing to do with the decisions the radio company makes. Anyhow, Riggins can say what he wants I suppose. But the shame of it all is that he wastes the valuable input he can offer when he wastes everyone's time with comments like these. |

LOL...He's just having fun though I'm not sure he merits the attention Skins fans give him. I'd rather he tell us fun stories about the good ol' days but whatever.

I am sure he has some awesome ones! I heard of a story back when Gibbs was coaching of him peeing in a cup in a meeting room. He asked Coach to go, but Gibbs would not let him so he just wipped it out and peed. I believe he was late for the meeting and Gibbs was upset with him that is why he didn't let him leave. |

Did Riggins make these comments in front of anything like a lake, fireplace, or stack of logs because if he didn't then it's a fake posing as Riggins.

Re: Riggins rips Haynesworth... Takes shot at McNabb
I agree with the AH comments but to say DM will never win a super bowl is a little ridiculous IMO. I think this guy needs to shut up and go away. Riggins rips Haynesworth: "Get him the hell out of camp" | ProFootballTalk.com
Why is the DM comment ridiculous? The only SB he has been in, he epically choked. A few guys in here referred to him as McChoke for awhile til the FO brought him in here. Then all of a sudden he is the next Sonny, etc. The big question that everyone wants to know is why did the Eagles part ways with Donovan in the first place? I don't think he is washed up by a long shot, but that was a rather bold step to dump DM and put the future of the franchise on Kolb and/or Vick. Donovan probably has 5 seasons of ball left in him. This season in my opinion is going to be a "gelling" season, when everyone gets used to the system, each other, etc. We might make a wildcard, but I doubt we will go to the Big Dance. That leaves DM with 4 seasons to win a SB. It definitely can be done, but to doubt it couldn't be really isn't such a ridiculous statement either, since one only has the past to go on. |

Ha ha, YES!! I was hoping someone would get that. Thanks Hog. |
Re: Riggins rips Haynesworth... Takes shot at McNabb
I loved Riggins with George Michael, Michael Wilbon, and Sonny Jugenson on the Redskins round table on Saturdays before the game. Riggins would always say the funniest things.
I also thank Riggins for what he said months back in season when Zorn was still here, about how Snyder will never win a championship until he changes his ways, and referred to Cerrato as a puppet, and said Zorn would be a great high school football coach at best. I truly think this was the final push Snyder needed to know he needed to change his ways. So don't hate Riggins, people for saying some stupid things about McNabb and Haynesworth. Half the time he s joking or is just trying to fill radio time by saying some bs stuff to get people calling in. |
Re: Riggins rips Haynesworth... Takes shot at McNabb
John Riggins is awesome. The end.
Sometimes he says stupid stuff and acts like an idiot. For example this particular example. |
Re: Riggins rips Haynesworth... Takes shot at McNabb
Yeah Riggins' comments are inflammatory for a reason also, to generate controversy, thus get ratings. The guy has always been incendiary with his comments about just about anything or anybody. He is the Charles Barkley of the NFL. From that little blurb of an article, he really doesn't come across any crazier than his other stuff, nor is it original. Many sportswriters or guys in here said cut the cord with AH. Many in here called Donovan McChoke last season when he was wearing green, and face it he isn't the most consistent QB in that he is hot or he's not. IN that I mean he can just be average or subpar after a great performance the previous Sunday.

Re: Riggins rips Haynesworth... Takes shot at McNabb
Riggins got paid to run- he ran.
Riggins gets paid to run his mouth - he runs it. The guy has cred and McNabb hasn't done squat for the Skins yet. Joe T is too much one way, at least Riggo calls it as he sees it. I may not agree with everything he says but at least it's not controlled by DS like some lame a$$ Larry Micheals. I think guys like Riggins and Czaban try to keep it real. Even if they go too far they still try. Is McNabb an improvement over JC? Who knows for sure until they play Dallas? Stat wise I would say hell yeah, but there has got to be a good reason the Eagles sent him packin'. I hope McNabb plays well, but I am not wholly in the tank for him yet. Also Grossman is a question too. So until the Skins get a QB who dominates all the time the questions remain. Can the Skins win a SuperBowl? Probably not this year , but they are a much better team this year than the last 2 years of predictable garbage. I predict 8-8. and I hope I am wrong. |
Re: Riggins rips Haynesworth... Takes shot at McNabb
I remember Joe Theismann being negative towards the skins multiple times on MNF, and with him acting like a jerkoff to that lady, I just have never liked the guy. He seems to me like a slimy ol dirtbag.
|
Re: Riggins rips Haynesworth... Takes shot at McNabb
If he was negative, it was probably well deserved because he's generally a big homer.

At what point do they stop putting the mic in front of Riggins? He is closer to the unibomber than a football analyst these days.

History has vindicated Riggo here. Everything he says makes perfect sense, especially McNabb talking like a politician. Sorry I doubted you, Riggo.

Riggins the best there was and still tells it like it is.

Re: Riggins rips Haynesworth... Takes shot at McNabb
Easy now i never saw Riggins take a play off or lay on the ground like a dead fish!!
|
Re: Riggins rips Haynesworth... Takes shot at McNabb
McNabb isn't taking anyone anywhere. He can't even throw a 5 yards pass and hit a guy in stride. And everyone knows Al does what he wants when he wants. But Riggins is just trying to make some waves so people will listen to his stupid show.
|
Re: Riggins rips Haynesworth... Takes shot at McNabb
McNabb is shot. This year proved it. I know some of us doubted him when he was traded here, but his play this season proved that he has nothing left.
McNabb is a great guy, a good person, and a good role model for young players. He can find work elsewhere as a backup. |

Most likely due to his partying...... similar to AH. Look I like Riggins. I grew up in that era. He was excentric and funny. AH is neither. Plus were talking about an era when players played hurt if they had to in order to collect their small pay checks. This is a different era... work out year around, OTA's, millions of dollars on the table, etc. |
someone has way too much time on their hands
We're going to have an extended offseason this year. Not my fault. Need to keep my posting prowess in top-tip shape!:cheeky-sm -------------
Former Redskins running back John Riggins has weighed in on the Albert Haynesworth saga, saying that it’s been clear since the 2009 season Haynesworth doesn’t hustle on the field, and that the Redskins would be wise to cut ties with their pricey defensive tackle. “This guy plays when he wants to play, and he takes plays off when you need him out on the field,” Riggins said on SIRIUS XM’s Mad Dog Radio, via Dan Steinberg of the Washington Post. “I’ve never been around a coach that thinks for a second that that’s the kind of player that’s going to help you win a championship. So my advice, not that anybody’s asking it, is to fire the guy. Get him the hell out of camp. The guy’s an infection. Why do you want him down in the locker room?” Haynesworth isn’t the only one who was caught in Riggins’ cross hairs. Riggins also took a shot at Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabb, saying he talks like a politician and adding, “I think he’ll come closer to winning the election then he will becoming a Super Bowl winning quarterback.” And like plenty of NFL fans, Riggins is tired of hearing about Brett Favre. “If you see this man call the local authorities,” Riggins said of Favre. “Do not try to apprehend him by yourself. He’s nuts.”
|

Re: Riggins rips Haynesworth... Takes shot at McNabb
Mcnabb is a better qb than anyone he ever played with in Washington. The guy made sorry ass WRs look good ( pinkston, Mitchell, thrash) his winning % is very good and has played in a super bowl. Give the guy a break
Paa-leeze. I'd take Theismann over Mcnabb ANY day. Much better QB. He has a ring and a league MVP and would have had more if not for LT. |
Re: Riggins rips Haynesworth... Takes shot at McNabb
Completely agree with Riggins. McNabb does talk like a politician, never shows any fire or passion and doesn't get angry or even a little pissed. Just isn't the kind of guy I want running the team. Joey T spiked the ball on a Cowboys' player's head once after running it in at RFK and a big fight ensued. I like that. I want a guy who competes with heart and fire...makes the game fun. wants to mix it up. Riggins did have his quirks and definitely didn't always practice but on Sundays, the dude strapped it on and balled like a warrior. Super Bowl 17, fourth and 1. End of ****in story.

Re: Riggins rips Haynesworth... Takes shot at McNabb
Riggins = The Man ........ sometimes he goes off the deep end but 99% of the time I agree with him .. well maybe like 75%

Yeah, I had McNabb stererotyped all wrong I knew he was laid back and professional but I expected him to COMMAND and take charge- way to passive like Campbell. The team benched him and made up stories and he kept a smile and said the PCorrect thing-come on you live and play once Thanks for not adding to the drama but wheres your manhood? Have pride, dont let it amount to benching and removal PLAY LIGHTS OUT-he couldnt. I was rooting for CP to break Riggins record but whatever happens Diesel is tops. |
Re: Riggins rips Haynesworth... Takes shot at McNabb
I could not really recognize him standing....perhaps if he could lay down on the playing field for a while......it would help?
