OU most points in history playing against the 12 defenses, UF shut em down. less than half their avg.
look at the defensive rankings in the 12. Neither faced the steel curtain in college.
Well guess what, I rather face the D of San Diego State than those crazy SOB's of Oklahoma or Texas anyday my friend. Playing UNLV isn't the same as playing Oklahoma or Texas, or even Nebraska. Brennan set those passing records against schools that were almost Div II status. The Sugar Bowl was enough to kill Brennan's draft.

1.) Brennan faced Alabama in 2006 and he went 30-44 for 350 yards.

2.) The Big 12 conference as a whole does not play the greatest defense in the world.

So he had a bad game where he was sacked 8 times by a 3 man Dline with 8 in coverage.. look at Brady in the SB vs the Gmen. hard to be stellar when you are running for your life.
UF did the same to Troy Smith, he seems to be doing well with the Ravens.

How about the defenses Flacco faced in college? If you can play, you can play.

Re: Zorn Needs His Own QB!

Zorn can adjust his playcalling for more intermediate and deep routes to take advantage of his strengths. However, he needs an OL that hold their blocks long enough let these plays develop because not every fricking pass has the QB throwing immediately to the first read at the end of the dropback, and oftentimes, that's all Campbell could do last year.

This is our chance to dump Campbell.... Cassel went down in KC.. Trade campbell for a 3rd round pick.. and it opens the door for Chase or Colt

On the one hand, he thinks Campbell is awful. Yet on the other hand we can apparently trade him for a 3rd round pick

LOL, Even Ive been easy on ol JC this week. I thought he played well but im not drinkin the Kool Aid at this point. JC has always had consistancy issues. Do well vs a good defense one week and then he'd struggle vs a bad defense the next. I think he is done for the preseason so now we just have to wait and see how he does in week 1.

Maybe at this point he is trying to say they would be desperate.

They still have Thigpen, who many expected to be their starter after last season. I doubt they are looking for anyone...

Unless Colt became available that is

Colt who? Hell they've already been calling about Chase Daniel.

If they offer their next 2 1st's its a done deal, or maybe a 1st and NE's 2nd

Re: Zorn Needs His Own QB!

Im sure teams out there would take either one. NE,DEN,KC and SF all seem to be lacking at the QB position. Starter or backup.
I don't like the fact that the organization is trying to force Campbell on Zorn or anyone else as far as that matters.
I think few people, aside from fans, would argue that Campbell is being forced on Zorn. All reports indicate that Zorn wanted to stick by Campbell, but the front office was trying to replace Campbell with either Sanchez or Cutler (as you noted). So, if anything, the front office was trying to force Zorn to coach a different quarterback.

I realize that doesn't comport with the fans' sense that there is a conspiracy against Colt Brennan to keep him from starting. However, the simple fact is this front office has demonstrated that it is not in love with Campbell and, right now, he's the best QB on the roster.

Im sure Zorn had a say in tha trade matter, in the end a HC is going to try to win instead of being loyal to one player. He knows his job is on the line so id have to say he was on board with the offseason moves. or attempts.

He was in the meeting when the Cutler sweepstakes started, he was at the dinner with Sanchez. --i heard--

And I'm sure they would too - off waivers. Much as the Cult would like to disagree, QB's like Colt are a dime a dozen. You need a 3rd string QB? There are tons - young and old - who would fit right in. Neither Colt nor Chase are QB's a team would feel comfortable turning to if the starter goes down. Maybe one or both will get there in a couple years. Seriously, Jordan Palmer is now Cinci's developmental QB.

Colt and Chase are replaceable and probably interchangable parts.

And BTW - New England is "lacking at the QB position. Starter or backup." ???

Let see - Tom Brady straight up for Colt Brennan. I think I would take that deal.

Brady is Brady but behind him there are serious concerns. I didnt mean Brady is worse. some of the teams i named -SF- are hurting at the starter spot, some are hurting at the backup spot -NE.

Pats cut Kevin O'Connell so that experiment is done. But I think I heard AJ Feeley to the Pats? Is that right?

In other preseason QB news, don't ever wear a Cutler jersey to Denver. I've never heard such overwhelming and energetic negativity directed towards one player as in the game tonight. Cutler might need a disguise to escape.

Personally, I think he's a good player, but a massive tool. Not just any tool, he's a tool that assembles douchebags. So, I suppose you could call him the Mother of all Douchebags.

Call him whatever you want but he is doing well to this point considering that his wr corps is is lacking.

Just so we're clear on Colt's value (or Chase's for that matter), here's an article on NE's backup situation. They mention several back-up possibilities including such luminaries as Tyler Thigpen, AJ Feeley, Damon Huard and Cleo Lemon (Seriously? Cleo Lemon???). Strangely, despite seeing him play Friday night, Colt is not among those named. If Colt is cut by the Skins, my bet is he is not on an NFL roster this year.
