McDaniels was a dominant lineman and his career is much more fresh in Hall voters' minds. I think the thing that hurts the Hogs is they were a great unit and voters don't necessarily think of them as great on their own as individuals.
Kind words from Daniel Snyder, in reference to Bruce Smith getting Hall of Fame nod.

Smith better thank Snyder big time at his induction ceremony. Snyder bent over backwards and set the franchise back a couple of years to meet Smith's wishes. So the least Bruce Smith, very deserving of the HoF by the way, can do is thank him.

As for Grimm, yeah it's too bad he's not in the Hall along with Jacoby and/or Lachey but it's not a travesty that McDaniel was selected before him.

Derrick Thomas was borderline, but I'm really happy for him that he did get in. There were some snubs who deserved it more than him though.

The real perplexing one is 'Bullet' Bob Hayes. Really? A dynamic kick returner early in his career, his career as a pass receiver certainly doesn't suggest that he would one day be in Canton. He was a good punt returner, but only 3 career TDs. I don't know how you can justify him over Sharpe, Carter, or even Andre Reed.
1) Derrick Thomas .......during his playing career was second only to Lawrence Taylor........some even say better.(no)
2) Remeber Bob hayes played at a different time and the game was different but his induction is past due,his value to the Cowboys was un measurable and he was one of the mains reasons for the Cowboys success.Noone deserves it more, players like Hayes don't get the regonition they deserve for making the NFL what it is today.
No disrespect to McDaniel but how many SB rings does he have? None? How a bout Grimm? 4, possibly 5 today. Grimm was a beast just like McDaniel and as an interior lineman created huge holes for Riggo and was part of one of the most domineering OL's of all time if not the most. Grimm and Jacoby should both be in the HOF and I would have picked Grimm over McDaniel just because of what his team accomplished in that era (4 SB appearances, 3 championships). I hate all those writers that vote on the election starting with Peter "Fat****" King.
McDaniel played at a high level for a longer period of time. It's not all about SB's. Grimm didn't even start on the 87 and 91 teams and was a back up the last few years of his career. McDaniel was the better player and should go in before Grimm.
I agree that I thought Jacoby was probably the best of them. But if what your saying is that the Redskins assembled one of the best OL in history with a bunch of pretty good players then it would seem that Joe Bugel should have his own wing constructed in the HOF.
I'd say a bunch of pretty good players that played great together. As I said the 91 line was probably the best line we've ever had. If Lachey played longer he'd probably go in hands down.
