The guy is a Hall of Fame quitter. No thanks!
Let's not forget the two times (Bucs and Falcons) that he agreed to join a team and then changed his mind before ever actually spending a single day as an employee (coach/GM) of the team. |
Re: Bill Parcells has opt-out clause, could walk away from Dolphins
I would like having Bill in the FO for the skins. He really knows his shit, and can bring in some young talent, or develop what we've already brought in.
The smart move for him is to go though. What would you do, work the remaining time on your contract for 12 mil, or take the 12 mil and sign somewhere else for another contract with another 12 mil? |
Re: Bill Parcells has opt-out clause, could walk away from Dolphins
Wayne huizenga (Dolphins Owner) announced today that Parcells is staying with the Fins.
Sorry I can't post the article. I'm doing this on my phone. |

Re: Bill Parcells has opt-out clause, could walk away from Dolphins
Why the hell would the Danny want Parcells? Parcells would want the same arrangement Marty wanted in 2000, if not more. The Danny is about ego and power, not nearly as much as Jerry Jones, but still enough to affect his franchise.

Re: Bill Parcells has opt-out clause, could walk away from Dolphins
Don't know how legit it is, but there's a pretty hot rumor down at the Senior Bowl that now that the Dolphins' sale is official, Parcells is interested in taking his skills elsewhere.
Elsewhere as in out to Oakland and bringing in Todd Bowles to be his head coach. Personally, I don't believe there's any way that happens. But who knows |

Re: Bill Parcells has opt-out clause, could walk away from Dolphins
Yeah, I don't know about that. I mean why would Pioli take the job if he was going to then turn around and cede some control. I mean Pioli finally has what he always wanted, full control. I'd be surprised if he gave it up but I guess anything's possible.

I agree. In addition to what you mentioned, there would be the whole my son-in-law is my boss thing going on. |
Re: Bill Parcells has opt-out clause, could walk away from Dolphins
Parcells stays in charge.

Re: Bill Parcells has opt-out clause, could walk away from Dolphins
Yeah but Parcells still isn't saying anything and he doesn't have to yet.

Exactly. His contract says he's got 30 days from today to simply take a $12M paycheck and leave, with ZERO strings attached to the Dolphins. Seems kind of silly not to, even though he's not exactly hurting for the money. |

Parcells wouldnt want to come here.... we have too many aging veterans and not enough draft picks. we also have a meddling owner and I think Parcells had his fill of meddling owners when he coached Dallas. I would like nothing more than for Parcells to come here in ANY capacity, but i just dont see any incentive for Parcells to do it - not when there are probably 20 other teams out there who are more "attractive." |

AND, Parcells LOVES S. Florida. |
Re: Bill Parcells has opt-out clause, could walk away from Dolphins
We can put this thread to bed, finally. SFRedskin provided a link from ESPN and here's one from SI saying that Ross spoke with Parcells and that Parcells intends to stay.

"He's staying, and I think we're very fortunate to have someone like Bill Parcells, who I think people have come to recognize as probably the best football mind in America."
|

Parcells himself did not say definitively that he would be staying in Miami and was very clear that he hasnt made a decision yet. he has 30 days to make a decision so this story will likely continue for the remaining 30 days or until Parcells signs elsewhere or with a new contract in Miami. SportingNews had an article today on this subject and i would be shocked if Parcells stays in Miami (without any new money on his contract, at least). |
Re: Bill Parcells has opt-out clause, could walk away from Dolphins
Best football mind. Whatever. He is a fool if he leaves that kind of free money. Miami, give me a break. Leave 12 millon on the table, sound like he's lost his mind. He did school Vinny; but how hard is that.

I think it shows his character. His dedication to his goal. And his class. That's part of what makes him the best. IMO |
Re: Bill Parcells has opt-out clause, could walk away from Dolphins
For some reason I never opened this thread but you guys are crazy. Why do you even think he would consider coming here to this mess of a team with old players and a coach that we have no clue about. Then we have a owner who would never give away any control of this team to anyone unless your his boy Vinny. This is just stupied to even start a thread about this because ther is not one good coach or front office guys that would ever give this team a second thought. Lets put this one to rest.

Nothing in the thread's title is suggesting that Parcells should come to Washington. It was people's opinion that brought that up. If you are that pissed off at Snyder, then stop being a fan of the Redskins. Like it or not, he's the owner and there isn't a damn thing we can do about it. |

i agree with you, im pretty sure ive read a few times how parcells just cant stop living, breathing and being a part of the NFL. That he tried to walk away and just couldnt do it, literally couldnt sleep at night b/c he couldnt stop thinking football so he went back. pretty sure another article made a correlation btw gibbs and parcells, both cant stop living football but gibbs choose family while parcells seems to have some kind of addiction he cant shake and choose football over family. go skins!! |

The point of my post was making fun of the people who in every thread bring up Snyder and Vinny no matter what the subject. So today in every thread I posted in I did the same joking because I'm tired of reading the same crap over and over again. If that's the best someone can do to add to each thread please just don't post because alot of people feel the same as I do and your response makes my point. So lets drop the Vinny and Snyder posting until they actually do something then post away. |

Agreed...too bad the people that actually pull this crap won't. |

Thanks man. I'm glad I'm not the only one tired of it. |
