Re: Should Gruden be fired ?
Manusky is the one who needs fired. There is talent on D that just isn't being used properly.
The injuries do matter and say what you want but take away a team's #1 QB and the O line and it gets very difficult. I'd let Jay finish out his contract and see what happens.
Some are underrating the Alex Smith Injury. He is also like a coach on the field for the other guys, and he probably helped Jay a ton. He's a smart QB so I can see losing him makes a bigger impact than just his play. |

Agree. Not only did they lose AS, they lost Colt who also seems like an on-field/ coach. Now on to a third string QB who has been on the team for 2 weeks. Also the guys who they brought in off the street to play O line are now out. This makes a huge difference on a team with limited offensive weapons. I'm not saying JG is a great HC but these injuries kill any chance of the offense doing what he wants. After firing Manusky, I'd fire the entire training staff. This team is constantly injured and it happens way too much to be coincidence. The organization needs to totally re-evaluate its trainers and training philosophy. |

Re: Should Gruden be fired ?
This whole thing is such a mess. I don't know what coach would want to come here and inherit a veteran QB in Smith that we're tied to for the next 2 years coming off a serious injury, a backup QB coming off a broken leg, and looking at a so so draft class when it comes to QBs. I think we very well may see Gruden back in 2019.

Many folks on twitter saying the Fanbase of the Redskins is crippling by the week. The stands show it too weekly. I don't blame anyone for not attending that garbage. |

Shit Jay may not even want to come back lmao |
Re: Should Gruden be fired ?
You can't bring both Smith and McCoy back.
There has to be a younger option on the roster. I would even go as far as having two younger QBs on the roster with Smith as a starter. Unfortunately Daddy Gruden seems himself in McCoy and won't cut him so we are stuck with two broken down QBs. |

How did he make it as the OC in Cincinnati? Seems like he called plays way better than he does now....even if Gruden brought in a OC things could only get better....that's my problem with him...his play calling is laughably incompetent. |
Re: Should Gruden be fired ?
Gruden must be my Life Coach today because I have absolutely zero motivation to do my job right now.

I feel the Redskins need a defensive oriented head coach like Marty....a defensive type of HC would accept Smith as an aging QB....but he would be smart to draft a QB by the 3rd round of the draft.....if Gruden returns for 2019 then he has to hire 2 coordinators.......because Manusky is terrible and Gruden himself can't call plays and balance the offense out worth a damn.... |
Re: Should Gruden be fired ?
^^^
I agree, I want a defensive coordinator type to be the next HC. This team needs some damn toughness. I also think its easier to be a Defensive HC and hire a good OC than the other way around. |

When you can call Dalton to Green every other play you can look like a genius. |

Doesn't matter. A coach will come if the opportunity is right. If he's paid handsomely, if he's given a good amount of control, or at least paired with a bright football mind in a GM - a coach will be happy to take the job. Which means, if Gruden goes, Bruce Allen needs to go as well. |

He had some talent and weapons in Cincy. He doesn't have that here. |
Re: Should Gruden be fired ?
From reading through these comments, apologies if I am remaking someone else's point, but two things occur to me
1. Is writing off of $10m of Grudens contract more expensive than an emptying stadium and tanking sales of merchandise ? 2. Canning Manusky, heard the Radio guys mention this aswell, but if you assume you are going to give Gruden one last chance, who is going to want to be DC for a year for a HC who could get fired by mid-season? And if you have made your mind up to fire Gruden at the end of this season, which seems likely barring a heroic run into the playoffs, what is the point in canning Manusky now? |
