We are the Alabama Redskins
Not sure if his 5th year option is transferrable to the new team (us) but if it is, he'll only cost ~$6M against the CAP next season. Tremendous value and Kudos to the #Redskins for pulling this off
Good point, I would think the option follows the player. Have to check on that. |
Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
I ... I ... am stunned.
This is a solid move. Dix and DJS?? When was the last time we had a safety combo like that?? Seriously, Norman, Dix, DJS and Dunbar are a solid group. Maybe not legion of boom solid, but damn solid nonetheless. |
Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
I was expecting them to give up a 3rd at the least. A 4th is outstanding. The only thing I wonder is he's a UFA after this year, can we afford him and then re-sign Swearinger the year after? Guess we'll cross that bridge when we have to.
You sign Dix and let Swearinger walk. I'm not sure DJ is as good as he is if our DL isn't as beastly as they are. I truly believe our DL is covering up some weakness in our secondary. |
Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
One of the top 3 safeties in a pass-happy league for a fourth round pick is an absolute heist!!! Great move!!!
|
Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
plus we get a pick back for Kirk right? Its an awesome move, finally it seems like this team is on the right path

I don't know man, DJ is balling out this year at an all pro level. Gotta give him credit. |
Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
Both of the top rated safeties now in DC
Better than Atogwe and Doughty?!? I did not see this coming at all, never even heard a whisper of a rumor. Who cares what we gave up, let's win!!! |
Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
Yeah this is no fluke on DJ, if u watch the tape it shows hes been flying around like crazy. I think he talks a lot but hes a leader

Most definitely. Not taking anything away from his play this year at all. Just over the course of his career, I'd take Dix over Swearinger. |
Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
Any word on if they talked extension before trading?
|
Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
I think we should all take this time to sit and reflect on just how badly the Cowboys got fleeced on their trade. Seeing all these deals being made with top notch players for 3rd and 4th rounders. It warms my heart.

Not only that...He is a legitimate leader in the clubhouse. Id look at extending him as well as getting something done with Ha Ha. |

Vinny C was proud of that Cowboys move, classic bidding against themselves type of deal. |

OMG WHY????? DJ has provided leadership and is the only guy in the secondary consistently making plays. Let's see what these guys can do together before making any roster decisions for next year. |
