Re: Michael Oher remains the leader for the Redskins
Good news, but this doesn't change the FO's opinions.. I just really hope that Redskins will draft Oher (my #1 choice) or other T such as A. Smith or whoever else..
As for trading up for Duke Robinson- I would not mind that at all, but if we trade up to 2nd round, I would prefer us to draft Mack (if he somehow dropped down) or Unger.. Duke is definitely good player, no questions; it still doesn't stop the fact that we signed Dockery and we have Rhinehart and David Clark (who Vinny appears is in love with) waiting in the wing.. Therefore, Duke probably would be a "waste" pick when we already have other pressing needs..
Yeah, if Alex Mack slipped to the second, I'd trade up for him too, but most are projecting him to go late 1st rd, we'd probably have to give up next year's #1. I think Duke is head and shoulders above what we have at RG now, and is projected to be a pro bowl level beast. And probably a mid 2nd rd. How I wish we still had that Jason Taylor pick. If he re-signs with the Fins, it would be swell if they just gave that pick back to us. |

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, to much SEC love. I mean thats definately a good thing (not allowing a sack), but I take the SEC part with a grain of salt. What I think works for him though being an SEC guy is definitely knowing that his run blocking is top notch. |
Re: Michael Oher remains the leader for the Redskins
Oher at #13. Perfect. It needs to happen. You can't overstate how important the O Line is, and a potential LT is a high 1st rounder.
But how about this, if Duke Robinson is sitting there in the middle of the second round, I think he is worth trading up for. Somewhere around #50, before Philly and Dallas, I'd HATE it if he wound up playing for either! Robinson is 1st round talent, a bad mf, and having him and Oher on the right side would instantly make our running game somewhat nasty. We need to get that young, serious OL talent in there while Joe Bugel is still here to teach them. Heck, trade up for Alex Mack, too, for all I care.
What are we trading to move up twice? |

Mr Oher come on down!!!!!!!! I will puke if we take Sanchez. That would be a major blow to JC. First the Cutler crap then that. Sorry, but you don't draft a QB in the first round to be a backup. Oher is the man I hope!!!!!! IF not him then the next best T available. Shoot ev en a G would make me happy, as long as we finally address our needs only for a change. |

They ask position questions about blocking, his passion, his business sense as it relates to football. And the responses don't sound canned, or rehearsed, but pretty good and thoughtful. I could be wrong, haven't met the kid etc, but we could do a lot worse (Sanchez) than getting this guy. |

What about Stafford??? LOL!! Kidding but Sanches would be like 3 steps backwards |
Re: Michael Oher remains the leader for the Redskins
I'm not sold on Oher. I think we'd be taking a risk by drafting him at 13. We can trade down in the late teens or early 20's and probably get him. If A. Smith is on the board I take him, given that he's only allowed 2 sacks his whole collegiate career and he has more upside. Smith would learn from one of the best LT's in Samuels about staying in shape, and conditioning your body.

Maybe so, but Andre Smith has the biggest potential downside of almost anyone projected in the first 15 picks. |

I hear you. Though I remain skeptical that JC is ultimately the guy, I'd hate to see us take Sanchez -- he certainly won't play, and if Zorn is gone after year two then the next coach is stuck with an inherited QB that he didn't select. The ONLY way I could see taking Sanchez (and I still wouldn't like it) is if the Redskins truly are done with Campbell and he is traded for a 1st or 2nd round draft pick. Even then, they'd basically have to give Sanchez the starting job and the 2009 season is over before it starts. So if I'm calling the shots, trade down if possible, or pick up Maualuga or any of the offensive tackles at #13. And above all, you stick with Jason Campbell. |

True, but I think it depends on what team takes him. If we take him, I think he'll be influenced by guys like Griff and Samuels, and they won't let him make mistakes. You're right Smith has the biggest bust potential but he also can be the greatest reward player in the right situation, and I think he'd make a great fit for us. |

There are guys at Alabama with good work ethics but Smith didn't seem to learn much from them. |

This year's 3rd and 5th, next year's first, Randel-El, Betts, a plasma tv, and twelve buckets of vanilla ice cream. No, honestly, I think we should try to move that 3rd rounder up to the second, IF someone like Alex Mack or Duke slid to where we could reasonably pull it off without having to give up too much. We need to figure out a way to get two starters out of this draft. |
