Re: Report: Leftwich Signs With Bucs
Colt isn't starting this year no matter what happens.
Colt isn't starting this year no matter what happens.
Never say never... I expect J. Cambell to elevate his game this year, with all things considered. (o-line play, wr play) IF Cambell does perform poorly, or is unable to lead the Redskins' offense to score and win? I would think that if the team/coach will take a look at Colt Brennan before the season is out in order to evaluate the state of the franchise in regards to the quarterback position..
Or it means they don't like Collins in this system and leftwich is good and young and may fit in the west coast and they want Brennan to be starter for when they deal Campbell for a second round pick, which they have tried to do (rumored during cutler deal)
Dude, I'm sorry to burst your bubble but like Matty said in earlier post - Brennan ain't gonna start.. He might rise within few years, who knows but there is no way he could become starter this year or next year.. Don't get me wrong, Brennan did well in preseasons but that was against 3rd stringers (like Brennan is).. Although I do believe that he does have abilities to be good #2 QB in future but not #1.. |
Re: Report: Leftwich Signs With Bucs
@ Matty:Well if JC and Todd get hurt....
But on a serious note I would be interested in seeing Colt this preseason. Maybe Zorn can get him in against 2nd stringers because we pretty much know what we will get out of Todd. Of the highlights I have seen none are really that impressive (preseason not college) |

He'll start only if JC gets hurt and then Collins get hurt. |

I beg to differ about 2010. Campbell is gone if he doesn't produce or improve significantly. As a starter he is naturally going to ask for a raise come renewal time and I am not sure the Danny is going to respond with his wallet wide open for a guy that just might not be able to get the job done. If he did, do you think he even would have made a serious bid for Cutler? And don't give me that BS about how things are just peachy keen at Redskins Park either. Like photos, actions speak thousands of words!!!!! Snyder wanted Cutler and deemed the cost as being too much. JC must step it up period now or go bye bye, but he needs his support group to get their shit together as well. Will be an interesting blog experience in here during the season that is for sure!!!!!!!! |

Well my hope is that Jason Campbell does well this season like you said and he sticks it to the front office. And for you Colt fans out there, can you please remember that in order for Colt Brennan to start, the team needs to lose so Jason Campbell is benched. So let's be fans of the team and hope that JC and team does well, instead of being fans of one players, ok? |

That goes without saying. He's not starting based on a straight up competition. |

The only thing that is going to keep Campbell from starting this whole year is injury. Brennen will never see the field. |

What I meant was Leftwich would have a chance to start for teams like the Jets and the Bucs. Neither team is far from playoff contention and he is a decent enough quarterback to help them do so given some support. |
Re: Report: Leftwich Signs With Bucs
we should have gone after garcia, with all that west coast experience....

Glad it wasn't us.

Re: Report: Leftwich Signs With Bucs
I am kind of on the Colt bandwagon. I say if he is ready let him start (If Campbell fails). I want Campbell to do great and lead us. I am kind of wondering what is the difference between him and a first round draft pick? He was good in college right? Could of been a first or second round pick. He a steal in the 6th. Tom Brady was selected in the 6th round. Even though Tom Brady is great and not saying that Colt is as good as him. Colt should be the 2nd string QB and see some first string late in the season. If Colt fail then he should be the 3rd QB. Has he failed yet? Is he ready yet? Can he do the job?
We have to see what Colt can do next year. As much as I like Collins and appreciate him for our playoff run, he is not the future. I wish I was but I am not sold of Campbell after what I saw in the second half of the season. If I was to bet I would bet that Campbell does not succeed. |
Re: Report: Leftwich Signs With Bucs
If he takes the Bucs to the playoffs I think that the redskin's FO would be feeling terrific
