Good point...I suppose there is an inkling of hope. |

Not to throw a damp blanket on the warm and fuzzy sentiment here, but Mangini went 10-6 first year and 4-12 in his second. Sean Payton went from 10-6 and a TOUGH team, to a lucky 7-9, cause they looked a lot worse when they started the season. Of course, we won't know how tomlin does in his second season til this year. Also, there are other teams that had first year coaches that sucked like Petrino. The thing that Zorn has going for him is that he takes over a pretty talented team. |

I wanted GW to get the job like most everyone else. Of course, I must admit to having visions of Petitbon dancing in my head as well. We can argue all day about whether Petitbon was given a real chance at HC or not, but I do have a question.
How many DC's have there been that were promoted within their own team and had any real success as head coach? |

Also, the fact some of these coaches struggled in year 2 isn't unique to them. The ups & downs between seasons fluctuate heavily for 75% of the teams. Pacells went 10-6 & 6-10 in his first two seasons in dallas. Gibbs went L,W,L,W in his 4 years back. Unless you're a really good team or really bad team, records are becoming more & more unpredictable regardless of who the coach is. |

Re: I think we got it Right..Almost
I am really starting to like this Zorn Hire. I don't know why but he seems like a good dedicated guy who won't be afraid to go down FIRING. The only move I have been upset with was the letting go of Williams. At the same time we kept everything on the defense in place and are still going to implement Buges running terminology and style.
I don't know about you guys but the only thing I think we are missing from last year is the unwavering head coach who knew how to put the right people in the right places. The good thing is almost all of these people are still there along with all the key players. The one thing I was afraid of was the continued development of the QB, but we seem to have a great guy to do that. When it is all said and done I don't think we are taking a step back but building on last year. Only one thing is going to change my opinion and that is if Zorn becomes Dan's puppet and we revert back to signing everything and anything. I for one think he has learned a little from Gibbs and won't treat this like fantasy football anymore, with maybe an exception (Trufant anyone?).
ok,so through your burgundy color class's everything is good.My question to you and everyone else is what happens "if" it fails?I know nothing of Zorns coaching past but loved him as a player, what will it take for Snyder to get a GM and fire Vinny? |

We have burgundy class's now? That's so cool. Maybe now people can learn to spell it correctly and will finally be able to distinguish it from maroon. ;) |
