Yeah, his career was cut short, I know...just tossing names out.

Moseley SHOULD get in. A few of our defenders too, Mann, Manley, Butz maybe. Brig Owens had a GREAT career, 2nd in INTs for us all-time, 1st in INT yards, tons of fumble recoveries.
Don't think his career was cut short, he was old when LT broke his leg, 35 if I'm correct.

The Hall needs to start recognizing some kickers and punters.
agreed, also agree w/the Ray Guy post

I remeMber reading a while ago that Jim Lachey was a border line HOFamer and I would cast my vote for him as well as Grimm, Jacoby and Bostic. In fact I would say Bostic before all of them because he was the captain of that O-Line!

Brian Mitchell should be in.

The hall needs to start recognizing special team players.

A short time redskin would be Henry Ellard.

I think Monte Coleman was great for a long time but he never made a probowl...
Theismann???
Super Bowl XVIII cost Joey T the HOF. That was an incredible team and that would have given him back to back titles. QB's can get in for winning even if they don't have typical HOF numbers...see Troy Aikman. I firmly believe he would have been a 1st ballot HOF if he had won that one game. No single player lost as much in that game.

Re: Now That Monk Is In...

The hatred for Theismann is unparalleled so there's no way he gets consideration for the Hall.

I'm all for Gary Clark -- it was Peter King who said for years that the reason he wouldn't vote Art Monk in was because whenever the Giants played the Skins, the guy they were all worried about was Clark. I don't have time to look up his stats, but aren't they near Swann and Stallworth?

One or more of the Hogs have to get in. Grimm should be in soon, but it may be a bit longer for Jacoby. For some reason, there doesn't seem to be much of a push for Lachey, but there are others who made less of an impact than he did who are in, so why not?
Personally I would get behind Grimm now. The Hogs were one of the most famous and successful offensive lines in NFL history, it's about time they started getting their due credit.
Agreed..

Why does no one ever say Jim Lachey (sp), was he not one of the best for a long time?

Well you bring up a good point about the two in a row. But I just don't think Theismann played at a real high level for a long enough period of time. He had a three year run from 82-84 where he played very well. 83 he won the MVP and that was his best year. Otherwise you're looking at an average NFL QB. His starting seasons from 77-81 were just plain old average to below average. And his 85 season was just plain old bad. I remember him being booed at RFK pretty bad in 85. HOF QB's in or around his era were Montana, Marinio, Moon and Fouts. All those guys IMO were better than Theismann. I might take Phil Simms over Theismann.

Agreed. Had we won, Joe T. most likely would be in the HOF.

Injuries really hurt Lachey's career. When he was healthy though, to this day I think he was the best LT I ever saw. When he was on, nobody could beat him.

Bostic was a starter on all 4 SB teams. But I just don't think he was a great player.

Bostic was a scrapper and an overachiever. Probably not Hall material.

I remember after all that crap went down at the SB Joe's wife went on the cover of Washingtonian Magazine. I believe her name is Shari. Very nice looking blonde. She just aired all their dirty laundry right in the magazine. It must have been very embarassing for Joe. Anyone remember that?? But I'll say this about Joe T. He can pull some nice ass. His current wife looks real nice. And his daughter looks good too.
