I hate to say this..as I have been a skin fan all my life.....I would go find quincy Carter....before i would stand behind Mark as a qb on our team! |
Re: Brooks Works Out For The Skins?!
jason campbell
mark brunell casey bramlet jordan palmer practice squad |
Re: Brooks Works Out For The Skins?!
Brooks had a workout, that is it. IF we get rid of MB for Brooks that is moronic. MB knows our offense already, did get us to the playoffs in 2005, etc. Brooks hasn't done squat!!!!!!

Re: Brooks Works Out For The Skins?!
I would call that a complete slap in the face if they cut Brunell and bring in Brooks.

Well, like I had said before, I'd rather have Culpepper as our #2, and let Collins be the guy that "knows the system". If we cut Brunell what would we save, or lose? |

I concur. |
Re: Brooks Works Out For The Skins?!
I think JC can learn from MB. However, MB makes way too much money to ride the pine. If you want keep Collins around another year, he can teach JC the system and play a game or two if necessary, cut MB for cap reasons and sign Brooks as a back up to the vet minimum.
Oh, and I loved Reggie Brooks, I just wish he panned out more the one season! He was great to watch that year. |

You can say a lot of negative things about MB (diminished arm strength, lack of confidence in his dwindling abilities, and many more) but look at the injuries he's played through in just the last two years. His heart should not be question. He is too expensive to play back-up but cheaper than Duante is going to want (Culpepper still thinks he has a shot at starting again someday soon and throwing for 4K). And Brooks? Please! Give me a has-been over a never will be any day. |

All I am saying is that it is time to stop....living in the world of excuses for him. he sucks! everyone that follows football knows it. Brooks...he sucks too. but hell he can prob. move out of a pocket now and then. Culpeppercoming to our team would be a major improvment. What if jason is not the answer? then what? collins? BRUNELL? please. |
Re: Brooks Works Out For The Skins?!
I'd cut Brunell and Collins for Brooks. Brooks is younger and more atheletic. He gives uss experience and quite a bit more talent from the back-up QB slot. Then give the third string to Palmer. Lets face it...Brunell is completed finished and we are paying Collins way to much. We can probably get Brooks pretty cheaply. What do you guys think?
He's also one of the worst QBs ever to play.
But if you really needed a real life demonstration of just how far Brunell is from the really really bad QBs, this would be it. |

Well, we are putting all our eggs in Jason Campbell's basket, so yes, we need that from him. |
Re: Brooks Works Out For The Skins?!
Brooks is a used up, never been. Mark will be fine in the roll he is in right now, a backup, that might have to come in and play a few downs or a game or two.
There is no way we will pick up brooks, it's a waste of time to even bring him in for a look. |
Re: Brooks Works Out For The Skins?!
Mark "no heart" Brunell, thats just an ignorant statement. He gave all his body could give and then some. He gave us some kick ass Dallas wins in which he didn't give up when we were down by 2 T.D.'s in one of them. Man educate yourself

Well I certainly wouldn't accuse Brunell of having "no heart". The guy had us at the doorstep of the NFC Championship game two years ago. Everyone said he was washed up after 04 and he only came back to have maybe the best season of his career. I know Portis and Moss stepped up huge at the end of 05, but Brunel was the Captain of that ship. He may not have the physical skills to be starter anymore, but he will always "fight his guts out" as Big Joe would say. As an earlier poster mentioned, Gibbs would never have a QB who turns the ball over as much as Brooks. Honestly, I'm surprised to hear that they gave him a look. Woo Hoo!!!! Ten posts baby. Thread starter priveleges booooyyyyeeeee! |
