Re: The State of Redskins Nation
Woah everbody, don't push the panic button yet. Let's step back and take a true inventory of the team and the upcoming season:
1) The Portis injury is not devastating. He banged up and will miss the remained of the preseason. His is a 4 - 6 week deal, and if he's smart, he'll sit out the first game if he's not 100%. 2) Brunell is still out money maker. As he goes, we go. Let's stop trying to get Jason elevated, he's not gonna take us to a Super Bowl this year. 3) Our defense is awesome. Enough said. 4) This is our year to make "the run". We have a team capable of winning 11 or 12 games. Brunell just needs to not have ints. We won't win pretty, but we'll win.
not panic here i,m pushing the easy button... we are in good shape yet this ia all about preseason, meaningless football. |
Re: The State of Redskins Nation
One good thing that came out of our first preseason game, Campbell has been, atleast for the time being, moved up to the number two spot at QB. Because of Collins poor play, Gibbs has put Campbell at number for the next game. We can all agree that was a good move, and now we can see that Campbell's progression is being noticed by the coaches.
This is the year to make a run but the one fatal flaw with this team is depth. They dont have much on either side of the ball. Hopefully they can stay fairly injury free and the depth wont be an issue but if they cant well I dont want to think about that.
What team doesn't have a problem with depth?

Re: The State of Redskins Nation
I'm good. If you look at the first 3 games, we don't really need Portis. You have a game thats a win vs. Minnesota with or without him. A game that we likely won't win at Dallas Week 2 even with him. (Although theres a much greater chance with him) And a game at Houston in Week 3 that shouldn't be a loss even with Betts playing. That brings us to Week 4 before we need him when games are decided.
I've read a report that says he's got the same injury as Cedric Benson has up here. That's a 3-4 Week injury. I would put him as questionable for Week 1, and week to week after that, fully expecting him to be on the field with no repercussion at Dallas in Week 2.
"a game we liekely won't win at Dallas"... WOW... what kind of fan are you?? |

A smart fan that aknowledges that a opponent may be difficult to beat. A fan that isn't so far up his ass, that he blindly follows the Skins. |

just because they may be difficult, it doesn't mean that we will probably lose...u should be saying we're going to kill dallass |
Re: The State of Redskins Nation
ask me the state of the redskins right before the 700pm est kickoff on week 1 against the vikings, not during any of these highly wasteful 1 step above the scab level preseason games!

Hey it wasnt me that said that, I am just trying to stop Skins fans from attacking each other. That is the last thing a fan base should ever do, shit we are not a New York fan base. |
