Re: Why The Bengals Won't Have a Good 12th Man
I'm offended by the birthday boy! I've taken it upon myself to update everyone on Sin-cinatti's legal situation and he had to step on my toes, just like someone else did the other day when they reported on the guard that got his boat pulled over.
Schneed doesn't like it when you wish him a happy birthday....or when you try to subtly say hello by putting Hi Schneed! under your username! Has he said hello back to me? No, he hasn't. He's just a big grinch
LOL I just noticed that. Brilliant. I am indeed a grinch. |

Actually I'm being entirely serious. They have one of the best homefield advantages in football. Their fans get into fights and behave like morons, and I'm not condoning that part of their behavior. But at the same time they're intensely passionate and that place gets downright friggin loud. That's the part I'd want to model, the passion. So if the guy next to me is all riled up, making noise and getting really into it, and he happens to blurt out a few curse words in the process; and then I go and call the Jerk hotline on him, that hurts the homefield advantage in my opinion. Now all of a sudden people have to watch their mouths instead of just letting fly with the noise and the passion. This is going to make people mad, but I've been saying it for a while, Redskin fans need to sack up if they're going to make Fed Ex feel like RFK again. You can't sit there and just "have a pleasant afternoon." You have to bring the nasty. Us Skins fans took a good step forward last year, Fed Ex was much noisier. But it has a ways to go to join the likes of the Linc and Arrowhead. |
Re: Why The Bengals Won't Have a Good 12th Man
I get all sorts of into the game and I don't want anyone to tell me how passionate I can be about it. I think this is yet annother way that the MAN is injecting us with his utopian politiclly correct tranqualizers.

Because if we're all polite and courteous then the place will turn into LincField South like it has been in the years prior to 2005. I'm not saying be an asshole, but be loud and proud. Last year my Dad and I ran out the Cowboys fans in front of us JUST by being loud and obnoxious. I never said a word to them, I just clapped loudly as I'm allowed to do and eventually they left. If I went to an opposing team's stadium and everyone is all like, "Hey buddy, how's it goin'?" I'm going to be FAR more likely to invite more of my friends to the game and there goes your homefield advantage. |
Re: Why The Bengals Won't Have a Good 12th Man
I think we'll see a 'new' 12th Man this year at FedX. The enthusiasm has been building since Gibbs arrived. But I agree, you can't be a nice guy...in fact, I'll go ahead and jump out there and say it, you really have to be an asshole man. I really do. Anything short of a fist fight is totally acceptable in my opinion.

Re: Why The Bengals Won't Have a Good 12th Man
Okay, when we start saying that the only way to gain home-field advantage is to imitate the eagles, well I gotta say something.
I have been to every home game for the last three years. After each of those games my voice is gone. While I am not the model of decorum, I am acutely aware that people do bring their kids to these games. You can be loud and proud without being a boorish thug. Many times I have opposing fans near me. Most of the times loud, obnoxious taunting follows (pre-Gibbs I was mostly the recipient). Again, generally, it doesn't involve vulgarity. Home field advantage is about making noise. That noise need not be vulgar. And sorry, I will never attempt to physically intimidate opposing fans - It's unneccessary, it's illegal, it's bully behavior and it's something I don't want my son to ever emulate. |

And if people bring their kids to an outdoor sporting event like football, well they do so at their own parental risk. |
Re: Why The Bengals Won't Have a Good 12th Man
what? i cant bring my kids to an nfl game because some lame ass wants to act like an a**hole? being loud and cheering( or booing) is acceptable behavior. in all the years of traveling to the vet to see the skins my motto was, say anything you want to about me or anyone in my family, just keep the vulgarities to a minimum, and never make it physical. i dont want to be known as philly south. we know how to win with class, unlike those morons in green and white
