Both Wilson and Watson have no trades and don't want to come to Washington. We need to hope for a Ryan Tanahill type come back out of trubisky or Marrota.

Or just draft a 4th rounder and keep treading water til next year :(

I opposed taking him with our first but how about Corral in the 2d or 3rd? Since he was injured imagine he might be available later in the draft. Any of this year's QBs would really have had to have a redshirt year anyway.

I guess Corral dodged a bullet.

He's dodged a few and it will bite him eventually. Tough kid but we already have that in TH.. I don't see any special traits in Corral either

Don’t get me wrong I think Taylor has the heart of a champion but it’s his arm I have issues with ..another Qb to keep eye on is Bailey Zappe ..

Two years ago the Bengals picked first and we picked second. Two years later, the Bengals win the AFC North and we ........ well you know. Far beyond the players who are picked, I am seriously doubting the people who pick the players. Bengals picked J'Marr Chase this past year and and he is an ROY candidate. We picked Davis and ....... well, you know. We wind up cutting our 4th round pick from 2 years ago.

I am beginning to seriously doubt the people directing this franchise, including Rivera.

I hear you, but Burrows and Chase were off the board when we drafted in both drafts. Not really apples to apples. My take away from Cincy is look what a true franchise QB can do for an organization.

IMO you give Houston everything try to get Watson here and start building around him. He is young and proven.

It looks to me like they have two choices , trade for Watson (which I am not sure about) or ride with Heinike and a rookie QB. Neither is ideal but that is the situation

linebacker news: Jamin Davis only played one snap on defense yesterday - looks like mike is gonna be another need this offseason and Davis/Holcomb will be primarily on the outside next season. What does that mean for Collins? TBD.

I think he played more than that, but still not many, apparently they wanted Mayo to play MLB, to free up Holcomb. So major miss for the FO last offseason, and I don't know if there are any significant FA available at that position

Washington's Week 17 snaps:

* Offense 63, Defense 61

* D. Mayo played 40 snaps, Jamin Davis 13 (21%)

* WR room - McLaurin 60, Sims 47 (75%), Humphries 33, Carter 22, Brown 7

* Danny Johnson one of 5 defenders to play every snap

This team has no chance with Heinicke as the QB. If they go into next season with him as starter Rivera screwed up. Watson has too much baggage for a baggage laden organization like WFT to touch. WFT has to keep taking shots at QB until it hits on one.

Point is there aren't many viable options. QB is not going to be good next year regardless. Unless they sell the farm for a veteran, however all of the "available" ones have issues.

Re: The Too Soon 2022 NFL Draft Thread

Ridder seems to be the one with the best physical ability. Good size, can throw a long, hard pass, leadership skills. I admit he is an unfinished product and will take two years to develop him. But to me at least I see the potential for him to be a really good QB with proper development. Now that raises the bigger issue: do we have the staff to develop him properly? I would say "no." But if we had a QB guru on staff, Ridder to me is the one who can be developed into a top flight QB.
