Hmm sounds like a team I know :-) |

I believe you should give your own players a chance to play before you bring someone in ahead of them. If Riley, Henson, prove they can't handle it then you look for another player at their position.
+1. I like Barrett Ruud as a player, but I just don't see the fit here vs. anywhere else. |

I believe you should give your own players a chance to play before you bring someone in ahead of them.If Riley, Henson, prove they can't handle it then you look for another player at their position.
So do you think we should sign a veteran QB once FA starts or let Beck & Grossman fight/throw it out. |
So do you think we should sign a veteran QB once FA starts or let Beck & Grossman fight/throw it out.
For me?
John Beck, but its not really an apples to apples comparison you're making between our ILB situation and QB situation. Imo the best thing for the organization and Mike/Kyle's reputation/ego is for Beck (or the QB of thier choosing) to play well. But, if they find a QB they feel they can win now with via trade/FA then I bet that's the route they'll take. |
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
Definitely Puz...but as I said before, the Bills would be absolutely stupid to let him walk. I think he'll stay on the Bills.
Maybe it's because I don't ever hear anything about the Bills, but I thought Pos was a decent but not Great player for the bills who got injured a lot? The way people make him sound on the board is like he's a pro bowler |
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
Agreed.
Second move, Nnamdi. LOL.
He's my first choice, but I dunno if he'd fit our defense, he's a man corner. Don't we play a balance of zone and man coverage? |
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
Seems to me we played more zone, ish. That's what worries me about Nnamdi too.
At any rate I don't think he's really on the team's radar. I mean maybe, but there's going to be other teams willing to throw more money at him than even we are, like Houston, like Dallas, et. all. |

151 tackles (in 14 games) would be a nice addition. He's not too much an of injury risk, he played 42 of the Bills' last 48 games. Decent hands (INTs) for a LB too. |

Something to do for attention from viewers. Few of their discussions are based on facts. :D |

Nnamdi is being targeted heavily by Houston and Philadelphia from what I've read

Don't know if someone posted this. Good article about the skins and nnamdi. |

Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
I'd bet Jenkins will be one of the first few free agents to sign here.
|
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
Jenkins and Carriker/Jenkins. Our DE sound pretty good just need a NT then our line backers and DL will be pretty sweet
|
Jenkins and Carriker/Jenkins. Our DE sound pretty good just need a NT then our line backers and DL will be pretty sweet
You know, I think that our DL plan will be to use CJenkins, Anthony Bryant, and Carriker/JJenkins on 1-2 downs, on third down I think it'll be Jenkins, Jenkins, Carriker. I think for the right price we Could go after Aubrayo Franklin, but I think that we plan on using the guys I mentioned above, and going after other areas of our team in FA (CB, G, T, etc.) |
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
I'd say Jenkins, Ryan Harris and possibly Malcom Flloyd could be possible
|
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
Yea i dont see Franklin being our first choice. I see us going for him but if the price is too high we will go for offensive line and corner. NT maybe won't be a huge issue if we get CJenkins
|
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
I'd say Jenkins, Ryan Harris and possibly Malcom Flloyd could be possible
And/or Davin Joseph and Nnamdi. I have the same feeling about us getting nnamdi as I did with us getting AH. |
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
Four free agent signings I think are likely;
CB Jonathan Joseph DE Cullen Jenkins RT Ryan Harris A RG, but I don't think it'll be Davin Joseph. One trade I think would be beneficial, particularly if we don't sign Santana Moss Albert Haynesworth to Denver for a 4th round pick and WR Eddie Royal. |
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
NLC1054 i agree not Nnamdi but Joseph or Taylor except Denver won't give us Royal and a 4th round pick
|
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
Brandon Mebane might be a better choice for NT than Franklin. Younger and likely cheaper.
|
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
Brandon Mebane might be a better choice for NT than Franklin. Younger and likely cheaper.
Agreed. He's a bit of a projection coming out of the 4-3 in Seattle, but at least Mebane played nose in a three man front at Cal. So although his assignments in a pro style 3-4 won't resemble that experience, at least the technique required of him to be successful will not be entirely foreign.
|
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
I'd bet Jenkins will be one of the first few free agents to sign here.
He's the Andre Carter of this class. Except unlike actual Andre Carter, he fits the defense we are currently playing.

Within a week Nnamdi, Aubrayo Franklin and Cullen Jenkins will be Redskins.

Bold prediction........ |
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
Well, if these reports that we'll be forced to spend money, around $45million next season...we'll be loading up.
|
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
Within a week Nnamdi, Aubrayo Franklin and Cullen Jenkins will be Redskins.
That looks and sounds great on paper, but knowing us, I don't see all 3 of those guys panning out here, should they all sign here, which is unlikely. I'm skeptical about Franklin too as to whether he's really that good, or what. The ravens had him and got rid of him. That tells me a lot right there. |
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
Don't forget about Kris Jenkins too. He's still a very strong possibility.
|
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
Knees busted, I don't want him, but then again if the Skins wanted kemoeatu with his knee problem, then yeah we could go after KJ.
|

Too old and injured but can be the fallback if we miss out on Cullen. He's played 7 total games in the last 2 years and will be 32 in a month. I'd rather go with Anthony Bryant Chris Neild and than Kris Jenkins...they have potential. |
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
A name I've seen a few times associated with us but not bandied about much on the boards is Joseph Addai. What are thoughts on him?
I'd like to see us pick up: -Abrayou Franklin -Ryan Harris -Ike Taylor -Cullen Jenkins -Sidney Rice and for a luxury pick, Reggie Bush although he doesn't really fill a need I just love watching speed players and we still need more speed. |
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
No thanks to Addai, in fact why look at any RBs considering we just drafted 2 guys and have 2 holdovers from last year? Doesn't seem like a need to me.

Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
If they are going after a WR FA, I would rather it be Rice than Edwards. Personally, I would rather sign Moss, and make our bigger investment in a guard and maybe a RT if we don't sign J. Brown.
|
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
I'd take Edwards
