Re: Who is Kirk Cousins?
Cousins is not being asked to be Dan Marino.....he's being asked to manage the offense and take care of the football....he only does the latter on occasion and that's not good enough.
Right but would you take any action today based on that knowledge? |
Re: Who is Kirk Cousins?
The reality is the kid has the talent and has shown it. But (much like the golf world) it is as much a head game as physical in his position. To date, he has been up and down. I REALLY hope he can prove that he has matured into "that" guy. We'll see.....
And in his favor, who the hell do you replace him with in the next year or two? HTTK...... |

No. Give Cousins his 16 game audition. If Cousins manages the game accordingly against the Falcons and Jets the Redskins are a 5-2 team. Gruden knows it and McCloughan knows it and fans who know football also know it. |

Re: Who is Kirk Cousins?
.......maybe

Re: Who is Kirk Cousins?
To be clear, I am not writing KC off. I just don't expect him to be much more than he is now. I truly hope I am wrong. He has the year. Lets see if he can do anything with it.

Good enough to what? Start? He would start on several other teams in the league this week. Cousins is far from our big problem. Last time i checked he doesnt rush the qb, run block, or do alot of other things our team is lacking at. Yeah the guy is not perfect, but if you are holding your breath for a Tom Brady do not bother. At this point in time we need to probably focus on building a team around him not replacing him. You dont replace average qb's with time on their side. Not when you have so many other holes to fill. Not unless the guy completely shits the bed in the second half of the season. Imo he will not. |

And if we had any semblance of a run d in those two games we are 5-2 also. I know this thread is about KC, BUT , it is a TEAM sport. He wasnt the only one that cost us those games. Not by a longshot. |
Re: Who is Kirk Cousins?
And if garcon holds onto the ball, and grant doesnt fall down on his face, maybe he doesnt have those picks in atl smh

Re: Who is Kirk Cousins?
so if the pats win 35-17 is that Cousins fault?? When is the D going to be held responsible..Giving up a ton of points puts so much pressure on the QB that even the best will struggle..if we lose sunday it won't be on Cousins shoulders.

If he gets fooled a few times by a grand master of scheme against qbs i wont be surprised, ppl will over react and say he sucks and throws too many picks etc etc, yea well so do most qbs when they play bill bellicheck coached defenses. Thats reality. Hope he plays well and the team is competitive and maybe pulls out an upset. On the road we have not played well sadly, so, we will see. |

This is funny. You think this team, with all of its injuries, should be ..... 5-2? even funnier ... its all bc of Kirk Cousins? it gets better though .... you think gruden and Scot agree with you and that any fan who thinks we shouldnt be 5-2 but for Kirk Cousins doesnt know football!?! some random stats, i dont know what to do with them. skins v falcons - D gave up 418 yds while we managed 51 total yards rushing. despite that, down by 3 with 24 seconds left, that asshole Kirk goes 46 yards in 24 seconds for a game tying field goal. we were without reed and jackson. falcons D ranked no. 11. skins v jets - D gives up 474 yards while we managed 34 yards rushing. By the way, we were without trent, reed and jackson going up against the no. 3 defense in the league. That was probably the least talented group of starters on offense any QB had to work with that week .. against the Jets D .. but we should have won, but for Kirk Cousins not "managing" the game. How does a QB manage a game when he is getting 51 and 34 yards rushing or being asked to throw 38+ times? Thats not being asked to manage. Does Kirk get any love for coming back against the Bucs for the win or do we blame him for it being 17-0. bucs 1st 3 drives: 1st drive - 64 yds = TD 2nd drive - 71 yds = FG 3rd drive - 72 yds = TD ^^^ is that Kirks fault too? I love this. This is such a cool new way to look at things. Lets just make stuff up to fit our agenda. This is the kind of Cousins hate that I just do not understand. I totally understand people who want to wait and see if Kirk put together consistent games. I do not get posts like yours though. |

Philly and Giants do a better job generating them. So this monster of a defense you describe is not really true. Cousins will have opportunities and is expected not to turn the ball over. |
