Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency-Part 3
Is it POSSIBLE that Ryan Harris might not want to play under Mike Shanahan again?
If he thought that he did not have a fair chance to start for the Skins given the state of their OL, he would definitely have gone wherever the biggest paycheck would have been. The fact is that the Redskins image around the league as of August 2011 is not a good one - - unless all you are looking for is a big payday. I am not saying that is a "proper image" or that the "image will never change", but that is what is out there at the moment. Bruce Allen and the Shanahans need to change that as quickly as possible and THE best way to do that is to win more games than they lose.
For what it is worth, I read an article in which Harris seemed to be very positive about coming to work with Shanny again but was concerned about an opportunity to start, as he was targeting teams clearly in the market for a tackle. |

Dirtbag59:
You may be absolutely correct - - but let's not pass off Jammal Brown's injury history as some minor trivial matter here. HIs injury history is quite significant in and of itself. And there is no reason that the Skins could not have had both Harris and Brown; it isn't as if there are HoF quality players lining up at the other OL positions... Oh, and with regard to the Eagles' OL, one of the main reasons - - if not THE main reason - - the Eagles needed to get a RT to protect Vick's blind side is because Winston Justice remains on the PUP List. King Dunlop was running with the first team in practice and that might not be the permanent answer for a team that hopes to make a run in the playoffs... Philly fans translate the words "King Dunlop" to mean "Stephon Heyer" at RT... |

But I thought Rogers said we don't like to bring our own guys back. Except this offseason we've re-signed Moss, Blades, Grossman, Golston, Doughty, Brown, Carlos must have dropped math too. |

Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency-Part 3
So I guess the train of thought with Rocky is that "well we added Bowen, Cofield, Jenkins, Neild and we also got good play out of Carriker and Bryant so now with a D-Line we can protect Rocky and give him more room to make plays. Plus he knows the system in a shortened offseason."
So much for that degenerate knee condition. I wonder if Los still feels like the Skins don't try and resign their own. |
Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency-Part 3
rocky is probably a one year deal, but we needed a vet body and a lot of the guys i would have preferred took 3mill deals elsewhere, so, at this point, its a reasonable move.
