Re: NFL Draft Thread
If you are playing a young QB and your line was pretty bad last year, I think you need to do everything you can to shore up your 0-line. Idk much about Torrence other then he was projected as a pretty good guard and a road grader. I guess that they had the guy from Illinois rated higher.
But Ron seems to be obsessed w/ getting guys that can play multiple positions. Nothing wrong w/ that but what about just getting the best player that plays one position? We'll see, can't judge a draft now obviously, but so far some of these picks are at best head scratchers. I just don't understand drafting a corner who is 165 pounds in the first round. That is just crazy that someone that skinny can play in the SEC. Wondering why they had him rated over Porter. |
Re: NFL Draft Thread
The O-line was not great last year, and they have added three O-linemen so far...all potential starters.
I can't believe they are ignoring the O-line... |
Re: NFL Draft Thread
Eagles get a Corner projected to go in first couple rounds by almost everyone in the fourth. And he is basically surrounded by his college team. We are not competing with then for years. Lol.
Eagles are simply head and shoulders above our front office. Have to give Roseman a lot of credit. He is one of the best if not the best GM in the league. One thing about those guys is they are always drafting or bringing in pass rushers. It's like a stable for them. They understand that in the league today you must be able to pressure the QB. He has built an outstanding team. |
Re: NFL Draft Thread
Later when? You can't predict when these guys are going. If they liked him, they liked him - and they took him when they had the opportunity. Maybe they didn't like Torrance or the other O-linemen that were available when they picked Martin. For them, for the fit, for projecting the roster this year and in the future, he was the better pick.
I just think it's funny with the instant grades, second guesses, and what-ifs every year. Suddenly now Mathis was a bad pick (too bad he got hurt)...oh yea, BRob was a reach too. Remember that? Just like Ruh said - we picked up Wylie in the off-season. We also picked up Gates. There are still good players left to be drafted, and there are still good free agent offensive linemen available (right now), and more to be had when players start getting cut. For me, this offseason is shaping up pretty good so far - in free agency, the draft, new coaches...the sale...all of it.
Whose future is that? Surely not Ron's. He isn't auditioning to be the GM for the new owner. He's not a GM. He needs to win this season to even have a chance of remaining as HC. This is Ron's fifth year and he hasn't had a winning year yet. New owner = lame duck. |
NFL Draft Thread
Braeden Daniels would take the edge off if he is there. Speed and agility. Fastest 40 time fir an olineman. Seems like a guy EB would really like.
He could probably start over Norwell. |

LOL Ok, so now he shouldn't be looking towards the future... because he may not be here. That's laughable my man. |
Your making a lot of assumptions here...
You are assuming they are doing things right. Im assuming they aren’t. Plenty of assumptions to go around. |
Forbes clocked 4.35 at the combine, and aside from his weight is considered by many as being elite. As for his weight, he played three seasons in the SEC without missing a game due to injury. He is not a slot corner.
I guess you told him! Personally, I'm too upset about Harry not getting to stand on the balcony in uniform to think much about the draft. |

Those aren't assumptions. |

I can't believe they are ignoring the O-line...
"Starter" is a very broad term. While Wylie is an improvement, Gates is not much if any upgrade and Stromburg will likely spend this year as a backup. Ron keeps referring to Kansas City as a model. In 2021 they recognised the weakness of the O line and then spent a 1st , a 2nd and a later picks on quality starters as well as giving out a top of the market contract to Joe Thuney at guard. This year they gave a high end contract to a FA left tackle. All because they recognised that even having Patrick Mahomes, without an OL they wont win anything. What Ron and Martin are doing is at best applying band aids . But that is just my opinion. |
Re: NFL Draft Thread
Whoever it is at 118, it's going to be a disappointment I'm sure.
