If you offered me Ray Lewis or Deion Sanders, I'd take Sanders
If you offered me Brian Urlacher or Darrell Green, I'd take Green Not saying that would be everyone's choice, but that would be mine. In any case in this instance, I'd honestly say I think CY has a better chance of HoF status than TT right now. I can just see him being another Andrew Luck and retired in 5-7 years.
Give me Ray all day. I can ignore Dieons side of the field and game plan around him ... or run to his side lol. Ray was sideline to sideline. You couldnt play around him. |
Re: Should we be drafting Tua???
I've always been pro drafting Young. Amen brother. My Tua argument was and always will be if you have a chance to draft a true franchise QB then you do it, regardless of whether you have someone like Young on the table. If Tua did not have all the injuries then I'd say take him and trade DH. End of discussion. But that is not the case.
Tua is an excellent passer. But I'll make the same argument against him people made against Haskins. It's not hard to be accurate when you're throwing the ball to three potential first round wrs. Most qbs lucky to have one top tier wr. Tua had three of them. In the defense of Tua. I don't like the idea of discrediting a guy based on the talent around him. The reason I would pass on Tua isn't just the fact that needed to have three surgeries in three years. It's the fact that he's slow to get up after every big hit. This man is a career ending injury waiting to happen. Tua having a short career is more likely than him going to the hall of fame. Is Tua more polished than Dwayne Haskins? He definitely is without a doubt. But Haskins can developed into a very good qb. He just needs time. Tua on the other hand might not last to see his second contract. |

Still no

Re: Should we be drafting Tua???
Just read Urban Myers take on Haskins .. simply if the redskins want Haskins to be all he can be they need to get play makers around him...okay so when is that going to happen ? Whiffed in free agency .. gonna pick Chase and then what ? So we have a good D and a Offense that flat sucks ..this team needs a real TE.. a Stud Wr and O line help ! But we gonna have a pass rusher ..I’m all in at giving Haskins a chance but he is going to need help ..

Found that interesting as well, and I agree. Terry is not enough, we need another WR and a TE or 2. RB's are solid but I just don't see how he can shine with the lack of weapons around him.. |

The team is looking at all first rd QBs but in all fairness Ron said he would |
Re: Should we be drafting Tua???
This is why I do not get the hype over Rivera. He has done next to nothing to improve the offense other than a quixotic pursuit of Cooper. Rather than sign a decent wide receiver or Tight end in free agency to help out his QB, he trades for another young QB to create "competition". This is like playing mind games with your young starting QB.

I agree with the off season, they did nothing to help Haskins

No competent GM would pass up a generational talent who plays DE regardless of the other needs of the team. So let's just forget about the possibility of the Skins not drafting CY. After that the Skins can draft all offense, as far as I'm concerned. |
Re: Should we be drafting Tua???
Yeah but franchise Qb's don't grow on trees, if Tua is available and he can be a top 10 QB for the next 10-12 years you have to take him.. Of course we don't know that, it's all based on projections.
Tua will be lucky to last 5 years in the NFL. He's the smallest guy on the field and injury prone. That doesn't bode well for a long pro career. |
Re: Should we be drafting Tua???
Particularly with our offensive line, or or perhaps better said, our lack of an offensive line. Indeed, with our current offensive line, I do not expect Haskins to make it thru the season, much less someone as injury prone as Tua. For goodness sake, sign Jason Peters for 2 years and at least we will have a competent veteran left tackle who can man the spot while a younger guy is drafted and developed.

Wonderlic.scores for QB’s. Tua is not the sharpest.
Jake Fromm: 35 Joe Burrow: 34 Jordan Love: 27 Justin Herbert: 25 Anthony Gordon: 25 Jacob Eason: 23 James Morgan: 23 Jalen Hurts: 18 Tua Tagovailoa: 13 https://sports.yahoo.com/tua-tagovailoa-other-top-qbs-204156385.html |
