i hope youre right. |
Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018
There’s no huge rush to draft someone to develop, Smith is probably here at least 3 years, maybe 4. A top pick on a QB would be a total waste.

How is AS on the downside? Most QB's with good protection (even terrible protection in Eli's case) are playing till 38-40 (Brees just signed a 2 year extension at 39) AND AS has definitely improved the last few years including his deep ball. Even if he only has 4 years left, 2 -3 of those years will be better than anything Case would do with our team, and at 3-5M less per year |

I don't like the trade but Smith is coming off his best season. He's hardly on the downside of his career. |

Bill Polian said AS would have been the highest paid QB if he was a Free Agent...

If anything, Alex Smith is liken to Rich Gannon. Gannon played his best football in his twilight years of his career. Smith has steadily gotten better and has seen no decline in his play. Instead, his career has trended upward. I think people will always second guess the moves this franchise makes until they win a Super Bowl. We have to question every little thing. Keenum could very well be a one-hit wonder. Alex Smith has proven that he can take a team to multiple playoff appearances. He's more athletic than Keenum and fits this offense better. It was an outstanding move by our FO to make the play for Alex Smith. Had we not gotten him and wound up with Teddy Bridgewater, can you just imagine the bitching we would've heard from fans? |

Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018
The draft and free agency have symbiotic relationship with each other and you really can't judge the whole off season till after the draft.
We still have cap space left and 6 picks to make everyone happy. And I think we'll trade down so we'll have even more picks. Just gonna take the worst thing to excercise, patience. |
Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018
I'd like us to sign Aaron Colvin and a starting LG or MLB or DT. Then use 2 of our first 3 picks on the other positions. And a RB somewhere in 1st 3.

Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018
Per Rap sheet it appears Badger will be a Texan, apparently they will offer a wealthy deal, but again it's all speculation. I do wonder if we are even interested

Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018
Hello All,
I've been reading the forums for a while, and decided to join today, so I could chat/share with the other members. I'm sure it's not lost on anyone that the Redskins stand to lose in a single offseason: Cousins, Grant, Murphy, Galette, Breeland, Fuller, Hall, and Brown. We will also finally feel the total affect of Scott M being gone as well. Didn't we learn a lesson last season letting half the offense walk? I thought the method of building a winner was continuity and drafting, cultivating, and KEEPING your own talent? Instead, we let Murphy, Breeland, and Fuller (young talent we drafted) go to perform in their prime for some other team. It's beyond me why we haven't made more of an effort to nail down Brown and/or Galette. We're also hearing that Cravens is being shopped. I know we cannot see what's happening behind the scenes, but from where I'm standing other teams are aggressively working to get better this offseason while the Redskins sit on the sidelines watching talent walk away. You'd figure a team that had a 7-9 season last year, and their division rivals winning a SUPERBOWL would be moving a little harder. Instead of getting younger, we're getting older. Smith is 5 years older than Cousins, and (if we sign DRC) he's pushing 32 years old....no thanks. This is NOT the definition of STABILITY or CONTINUITY. |
