When was the last time VJ got into trouble for his drug use? And if he's a concern cause he might get caught again and be sidelined then we might as well get rid of TW and Davis too since they are on their last leg also. No sense in taking risks.
VJ had a suspension for 2 DUIs, not anything drug related. |
Re: Redskins: 2012 Off-Season-Free Agency/Trades
I'm not a fan of Jackson's history of disciplinary issues and holdouts.
I'd rather get Colston for sure, of IF we bring in Manning, Wayne also. We'd have Wayne, Moss and Hankerson all from The U. Honestly, we could use a solid #1 for whatever QB we roll with, but Moss, Hankerson, Armstrong, Gaffney, Banks, Paul, Austin and Aldrick Robinson are a great young FAST group of WRs with a couple of solid vets mixed in. A good QB will make last year's WR group look solid. However, adding a legit #1 to that group will make it very potent. |

Not sure that makes a difference when it comes to being on the cusp of a one year suspension |

driving drunk is much worse than driving high on the natural

Re: Redskins: 2012 Off-Season-Free Agency/Trades
If Manning comes here, I wouldn't mind getting either Colston or Garcon. Preferably Garcon...although I wonder if we could get both Garcon and Wayne (the Coltskins baby!)

Yes we could get both |

Oh, I know. I was just correcting his assertion that drugs were the cause. No doubt it's a gamble. |

Thank You. I knew it was either drugs or something I forgot it was DUI's. In any event how long ago were they? and how long has he been a good little boy? If it's only been one season then yes there is some risk but if it was a few then one would think he has learned to atleast tow the line. |
Re: Redskins: 2012 Off-Season-Free Agency/Trades
Playoffs in 2010 (followed the 2009 regular season) was the last time he was in trouble. He got a DUS (driving under suspension) on his way to the Chargers last home playoff game. He was suspended for the first 8 games of 2010 regular season.

People act as though Vinny Cerrato still runs the show and is going to sign Haynesworth again. The Iggles problems had more to do with misplaced resources (completely disregarded the o-line) than just bad FAs. The two options that the team seems to have carry big risks but could yield big rewards. I rather have these two options than having none at all (like last offseason). |
Re: Redskins: 2012 Off-Season-Free Agency/Trades
Haynesworth and Manning are polar opposites in just about every possible way.
I don't see any merit behind comparing the two. |
Re: Redskins: 2012 Off-Season-Free Agency/Trades
Weak article

And the thing is, until the Redskins truly show a consistent improvement - making the playoffs on a regular basis - the media and the sports world itself is going to continue stuck in the mindset that the Redskins are always the team to overspend on over the hill players. So, it's up to this coaching regime and the current players (and current players to be) to show everybody that the culture in Washington has truly changed. |
