I realize no one is really talking about Hoyer but I do believe we're going to make a serious offer for him. Will be it be our 1st for Hoyer and one of their 1sts? Probably not. Our 2nd straight up for Hoyer? Maybe. Our 3rd and a player for Hoyer? That's sort of what I'm thinking
I say we make a conditional trade with the Pats. If Hoyer reaches certain bench marks (yards, TD's, wins, etc) then we give New England a 2nd round pick. Anything else we give them a 3rd or 4th round pick. Still Hoyer should be plan B, IE if on draft day they don't get RGIII then they trade with New England for Hoyer as I personally like the idea of him better then all the second tier QB's. |

I just hope their primary focus to get RGIII and we wont know till draft day, until then its all smoke screens and rumors. |

I don't really like Peyton. Peyton is just an accident waiting to happen. Sure maybe we can fail only so many times but I see us looking back at Peyton this time next year, wherever he ends up, and saying "it was so obvious, all the warning signs were there." |
Re: Eight QBs and Where The Latest Rumors Have Them Going
If we signed Peyton Manning would it be quickly after he is released Smoot or would there be a waiting period?

I'm not sure why people keep saying Peyton is an accident waiting to happen when more than one doctor has said he's in no more risk of injury than anybody else out on the football field. |

4 surgeries involving neck fusion on a 36 year old QB with reports coming out that he can't feel the throws across his body resulting in velocity problems.
"He can't throw the ball," Lombardi said, as a guest on ESPN's “The B.S. Report with Bill Simmons.” "I've talked to people who've caught the ball for him. He can't throw the ball to his left. He can't throw the ball across his body, because he doesn't feel it. People that catch the ball for him say he doesn't really have velocity on the ball yet."
Maybe I'm wrong but this doesn't sit well with me. Funny thing is Dan Graziano agrees with you. Not Like The Others Redskins fans shouldn't let the franchise's checkered past make them leery of Peyton Manning.
I didn't get total plays per game but here's the other stats
Luck: Run ATT- 43 Pass ATT- 261 RGIII: Run ATT- 161 Pass ATT- 369 It's very obvious RGIII probably had more plays per game or... Luck had a really good run game and didn't need to pass as much or run himself for the yrds.
The percentage of his running compared to Luck's is a better assessment. If both are running for 5% of the total plays, then it doesn't matter. If one is running 35% compared to the other 10% then it might would. Also, Luck had 2 OL that will be drafted in the first round this year. Not sure RGIII had that same type of line. Many things factor in why a QB runs. This isn't like Cam Newton who rushed that many times on purpose. Newton didn't sniff 4,000 yards passing in college like RGIII has. |

Uh oh Smoot. ya boy done be playing in C-Town (wat up?)
Ryan Lownes @ryanlownes @MockingTheDraft I imagine if the #Browns aren't able to sign Matt Flynn that they'll make a strong push for the #Patriots' Brian Hoyer. View conversation Reply Retweet Favorite
|
Re: Eight QBs and Where The Latest Rumors Have Them Going
Well he is from Cleveland and the Browns did have him over for pre-draft visits back in 2009 (different management though) and the Browns do have an extra 1st round pick...

Free Agency can't get here fast enough.

Re: Eight QBs and Where The Latest Rumors Have Them Going
During a spot on "Redskins Nation" on CSN Washington -- via Dan Steinberg of the Washington Post -- Redskins GM Bruce Allen was asked about the team's plan at the QB position. Unsurprisingly, he was not exactly forthcoming with specific details:
"We have a game plan on what to do, and obviously a game plan has to have alternate routes on it based on what other clubs do. We feel good about it and how we're gonna address all the needs on our football team, and we're looking forward to getting after it." |

Not by you but fans cant have it both ways. What I said was RGIII's runs may have been due to him not going through all his progressions or his OL breaking down causing him to run more. |

Seriously though, not sure. Foles? I think we're going to be part of the Manning discussion but won't go out of our way for him I think/know we like Tannehill but not sure if enough to take him at #6, and not sure how low can we go and take him I realize no one is really talking about Hoyer but I do believe we're going to make a serious offer for him. Before anyone starts bringing up Tom Brady, let's remember that that was a decade and a half ago... Scouting has developed considerably since then. |
