Re: Time to clean house 1.0.
I floated that same idea recently, that Snyder needs to consult with someone he trusts, someone like Gibbs
Let's hope he is doing just that and that Gibbs is giving him straightforward answers to his questions. |

I don't believe that. Dan Snyder has been more than fair with Bruce Allen and Jay Gruden. |

So why do you think the Redskins are such an unattractive option |
Re: Time to clean house 1.0.
Yes KI!!!!
Holy shit man, I'm so god damn tired of players under performing yet we make excuses for them. Doctson is 106th in the league with 35 yards per game average. I don't care what anyone says about Preston Smith, The facts are he is tied for 98th in Sacks with two cornerbacks. He never missed a game! This team is in serious need of play makers. |

This might be our only hope at this point. All things considered, I would love Schaffer. |

Re: Time to clean house 1.0.
So why do you think the Redskins are such an unattractive option
I believe that somebody who is very good would take the position. If a qualified GM candidate: 1. Likes money 2. Wants to have one of the three dozen best jobs in sports 3. Writes himself a good contract 4. Insists that Bruce Allen (the master underminer of all his perceived rivals) no longer be in the organization in any capacity 5. Most importantly, is a strong personality who believes in himself and will not be swayed by anyone to make poor football decisions, then it doesn't have to be an unattractive position. |
Re: Time to clean house 1.0.
I'd add #6, ok with working for one of the worst owners in pro sports

If we don’t bring in someone from the outside, this is what I’d would do as well. But firing Bruce Allen has to happen. |
Re: Time to clean house 1.0.

That's why any candidate needs a very rich contract that is air-tight. |
Re: Time to clean house 1.0.
Kyle Smith will get promoted to GM, why would Schaeffer downgrade position/title from Senior VP of Football Operations/General Counsel to GM.
|
Re: Time to clean house 1.0.
I’d honestly fire Bruce Allen, promote Eric Shaffer to President, promote Kyle Smith to GM, replace the entire strength and conditioning staff, promote Tomsula to DC so the system the players have learned stays the same, bring in or promote a GOOD OC, give Gruden one more year.
So yesterdays game should have told Snyder to Fire everyone.... Then what?
It’s easy to say a house should be torn down - the hard part is figuring out how to rebuild, especially when very few people will want to come and help you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If I were Snyder I would just fire everyone. Gruden isn't even a good coach on his side of the ball. I'd then fire Bruce and Doug. No more Tampa guys. I'd let Kyle Smith interview for the GM job. I'd then call Casserly and have him help find or do a GM search. Bring in Louis Riddick and let him interview. Once you get the right GM then let him hire his head coach and just get the fuck outta the way. Once everyone is hired do a press conference and get on your hands and knees and apologize to the Redskin fans for your incompetence as an owner. |
Re: Time to clean house 1.0.
Money talks. People will come here. Coaches will come here for the money and if Bruce is out of the way.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
He'll keep the 3-4. It's a garbage defense for the players we have. Allen, Payne and Matt I would be better if they could attack more and get up field, instead of being asked to occupy blockers for slow ass LB's. |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I am more frustrated that Gruden is staying then Allen. But just as frustrating is all the fan talk like something is going to change in the FO structure. This structure (or something similar with different names). I basically agree with MTK that this is the Skins, but I don't agree with the 7-9/9-7 range. A good coach that can recognize in game adjustments, and not get stuck holding on to personnel/coaches/schemes instead of adjusting to the talent on the field. Injuries should not have given Gruden a pass, when he got the pass last year for them. Other than AS/CM breaks, most of the injuries were by players with some history (even Scherff), and in a lot of cases - even Guice's - an effective replacement was put in place. Further the defense didn't suffer major personnel injuries, and it was Gruden's DC who watched the implosion of a top run defending line to a porous defense carved up by every type of offense. |

There are a ton of head coaching vacancies and ours has got to be at, or near the bottom, of most candidates lists.... and it’s an extremely weak market for coaches. There is no one out there and available whom would constitute a clear upgrade over Gruden. Additionally we’re essentially going to operating under kind of a “salary cap penalty” next year due to Alex’s contract. It is highly unlikely we will have a good record - no matter whose coaching. So we’re better off sticking with Jay, and letting the new GM evaluate him over the next year. If we make a head coaching change, next year will he the year to do it. Re: Time to clean house 1.0.
Why are they trotting out Gruden to speak?
Perhaps to announce changes to his staff? It doesn't take 90 minutes to write "I resign" and you don't announce your own firing. I'll bet that Mr. Oblivious Snyder isn't even going to acknowledge the fans' issues with his GM and HC. |
