Short memory? He was suspended by the Steelers and the Giants several times for violating team rules. |

I don't think the Skins want him he said we are #2 on his list, based on the fact his agent thinks that will raise up his contract $$$$, alots changed since he went into JAIL there's a new SHERIFF in town and we nolonger out bid ourselves. |

I'm not one to lead a Plax campaign, but people were saying the same things about a certain QB a little while back. |

Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
1. Washington Redskins: Owner Dan Snyder gave defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth and cornerback DeAngelo Hall around $36 million in bonus money in 2010 to free up room to be a big spender in free agency in 2011. Snyder and Mike Shanahan will have to be creative in how they structure contracts, because the $120 million cap would give them only around $10 million of cap room. On the positive side, the Redskins' current payroll is $75.7 million, meaning Snyder would have to spend close to $45 million in cash to meet the potential minimum floor requirements. Imagine a system that forces Snyder to spend.

This article title misconstrues what Cooley says so bad. Cooley says, and I quote, "If you were going to take a risk on a guy that's a good player, he's probably the guy you're going to take a risk on." He follows that up by saying, "He'll probably step in a locker room, keep his mouth shut, work hard and try to earn his way back into the league the first season," Cooley does not say he thinks the Redskins are going after him. He only states that someone would most likely take a shot with him over someone like T.O. or Ochocinco. Terrible title for this article. |
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
Yeah, exactly. I kept seeing that Cooley said Burress would be a fit, but no where does he ever say that.
Redskins misquoted in the press? Nooo... |
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
Title says he could go to Redskins, and article says Cooley thinks they need a big time receiver and Plax is someone who could do well. That's all, we're the only ones making the assumption the Redskins are going after Plax, and that somehow CC is confirming it

Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
Just like we are looking for stories so are they looking for stories, nobody ever checks these writers they can misquote whoever and get away with it.
|
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
What exactly was misquoted?
|
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
I beleive i was watching the NFL total access I forget who they were interviewing, they asked the player about such & such player he stated he was a good player could help his team. A few hours later he was quoted on several news stations that the player wanted such & such on his team. I might still have the show I DVR them I'll get back to you if I can get more precise.

Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
It's the wording of the title that's misleading.
"Cooley: Burress could go from prison to Redskins' roster" implies that at some point Cooley said he wanted Burress on the team. He didn't. He said we needed a playmaker at wide receiver. Now even though the question was specifically about Plax, Cooley was actually careful to not say something that would basically be him endorsing Plax. Saying "if you're going to take a risk on a good player, he'd be the player to take a risk on" is not the same as Cooley saying Plax could end up with the Redskins. At all. |

Well the last tackling machine we signed from Buffalo worked out so might as well give it another shot.
Posluszny sticking in Buffalo? 10:09 AM ET Paul Posluszny | Bills | Interested: Jaguars?, Redskins?, Bills? TopEmailComments 1 For teams in need of inside linebacker help, Paul Posluszny is an intriguing possibility, as the impending free agent has experience in both the 3-4 and 4-3 alignments. Thus far this offseason, he's been linked most strongly to the Jacksonville Jaguars and Washington Redskins, though there are a number of other teams in the market for the help he can provide. In the end, however, all of this speculation may be moot, as Pro Football Weekly has reported that the Buffalo Bills will make re-signing Posluszny a priority. Furthermore, the site notes, a daily team observer has indicated that the blue-collar sensibilities of the city are a good match for Posluszny, and this may play a role in his sticking around. - Tim Kavanagh
|

Although I haven't heard anything about this before, Posluszny would be a good pick up for us. We could let Rocky walk, put Posluszny with Fletcher in the middle. That'd be a helluva tackling machine duo in the middle. |
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
Puz would be a HUGE addition, but Buffalo would be downright stupid to let him get away. He's their best player.

Okay, I'm just going to throw a free agent quarterback that I like out there, and see if people like the idea or hate the idea and thing I should be eaten alive by fire ants, or whatever.
...What about Matt Moore for a young quarterback option? |

...What about Matt Moore for a young quarterback option?
I'm totally with you. I've brought up Moore off and on for a couple of years now. I'm not 100% sure he can be a long term solution as a starter. But I think at the very least he's a very solid backup with starter capabilities. And honestly, I prefer him to Beck. |
