Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread
So listened to a Redskins report on the junks driving in who was talking about the young receivers.

So he said among the coaching staff, Terry Mclaurin has blown away everyone. When they drafted him, they thought he was a ace special player and a rotational WR. Mclaurin speed and big play ability...he has clearly been the best WR on the field and will start at Doctson position. Cam Sims has been the second best wide receiver. The starters will probably be: McLaurin at Doctson position and P Rich. P Rich will probably be the off the ball WR allowing him not to be jammed at Line. Quinn will be the Slot but they will work Cam Sims in as well in packages to bring size on the outside.
Thank you for the report! Awesome news about Mclaurin. Kid seems like a total gamer. Eager to see if your prediction is correct about him starting. Richardson is fast and can be reasonably productive. Not ready to throw the towel in on him yet. Agree about Quinn needing to stay healthy. Love Cam Sims' size and hands. Also wanna see what he can bring to the table.

HTTR!

Jay Gruden said Colt McCoy was a little sore after Sunday’s practice. Said he’s not sure yet about him for Thursday night. McCoy still not quite 100 percent after his leg injury last December.

Sorry for Colt, but I would rather Keenum and Haskins get all the reps in the next two games, then let Colt showcase himself for his next team in game 4

Send him to the PUP list and lets see Keenum vs Haskins the rest of camp

Got to start off camp on PUP, can't go there now

Guice is not cleared for contact yet, that is concerning

That injury Colt had was a lot more serious then they let on. It's been 8 or 9 months and he's still having issues, plus he had a 2nd procedure done.

Yea he's probably done too, he never could stay healthy to begin with. It's Case and Dwayne's race now

I wish they'd stop with this Colt and Case nonsense. Just go all in on getting Haskins ready. Dumb the offense down, dumb the verbiage down, just get him ready to play. The kid has arm talent out the wazoo. Make it work.

I think that's just abundance of caution.

Let the battle continue, but I don't want him out there the first several weeks if he is not ready versus a tough schedule and especially if silverblunt is out. I don't want to get him killed immediately.

IMO Colt is still injured and he should not be in the convo.

Tell that to Jay Gruden, whose job is on the line.

I hear what you are saying, but Jay seems to know that it is playoffs or bust for him.

Agreed.
Plus I think from a coaching stand point, you have to show your players you're doing every thing you can to win. These guys aren't doing long term politics, they're going onto the football field to win some games. Let whoever legitimately wins the QB battle in camp get the starting job. At least for the beginning of the season.

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread

Common sense would tell you if you start a rookie QB that there may be some growing pains. I think Snyder has been around long enough to know that. Starting Keenum to maybe try and get another win or two just does nothing for me. Keenum went 6-10 last year with Denver. Who's to say he can do better here?

Why do say that? He hasn't been cleared by trainers and doctors yet alone coaches. I agree, this is somewhat disappointing. He needs reps. It's already mid August.
