Re: Washington Capitals 2010-2011 ongoing thread
Lightning looking to force Game 7 up 2-1 after 2. I don't know if I want to see either the Lightning or the Pens as early as the second round but if you want to be a champion, and call yourself the best you have to beat whoever they put in front of you.

Well there you have it. Game 7 on Monday for the Pens and Lightning.

Holtby was called up.

Re: Washington Capitals 2010-2011 ongoing thread
This playoff is starting to look like the demon parade for the Caps. First round gives them the team that destroyed them in the regular season with the Rangers. Now with the Sabers down 3-0 to Philly and Montreal up 2-1 against Boston we're seeing a likely second round matchup against the Habs.
At this rate the Pens with Crosby will match up with us for the ECF and if we get past the 2nd and 3rd round I'd bet we'd end up with the Sharks in the Finals. Though I think the Red Wings are most likely to represent the West. |

Lol, I still can't believe we finished our series on Saturday and Round 1 games are still going on today (Wednesday).

Re: Washington Capitals 2010-2011 ongoing thread
So, looking at it today...
Looks like if the Habs win...then we play them. If not...it's winner of Pens-Lightning. I'm assuming we don't start until Saturday at the earliest now that both games are going to 7? All in all, I'm ok with that. Would have loved to play Buffalo...but like someone said earlier....if you want to be champs, you have to beat the best anyways. Good to see Mike Green okay, Arnott seems likes he's in good shape. Everyone gets a few days rest... And playoff hockey resumes. |

How was I suppose to know that Game 6 was delayed for a Lady Gaga concert? |

I'd love it if they were Saturday and Monday though, because in that case I'll be at game 2 on Monday. :) |

I don't know if they'll wait that long. Round 2 for the West begins tomorrow night with Nashville and Vancouver. So I have to imagine that Friday will be the start of the Caps second round series. |
Re: Washington Capitals 2010-2011 ongoing thread
No Habs rematch this year. It'll either be Pitt or Tampa.

Re: Washington Capitals 2010-2011 ongoing thread
So Tampa Bay it is. They've played us pretty tough this year, and they can definitely put up some points. Hopefully the rest helped and the new playoff tested style of play will help the Caps put the lightning away pretty quickly.

Regular season only means so much. Either way I like Tampa. Will be a good test especially if we win and end up with a run and gun team like San Jose in the finals. |
Re: Washington Capitals 2010-2011 ongoing thread
I guess the real question is...will Jake Locker being sitting rinkside at Verizon Center on Friday night?
