Griffin doesn't play defense but if he completes a few passes those drives never take place.
I guess Griffins inadequate play had nothing to do with the 143 yard output? How many yards did we put up before the knee injury? A injury and a bad coaching decision did far more damage than the Seattle D or O.
I'm just not the type that thinks that when we lose a game and are clearly outplayed, that it was all our doing. We gave up 200+ on the ground. We just didn't get the job done. |
Re: Seahawks 24 Skins 14 post game thread
Great season, I just hated seeing them go out like that. I hate what if losses. "What if Griff was 100%? Looking foward to free agency and the draft. It is just the idea that we don't play another meaningful game until September is the part I always hate.

Re: Seahawks 24 Skins 14 post game thread
Great game by Reed Doughty, I have been a hater of him for sometime but he was lights out last night. Chasing down Wilson and all.
I hate the Seahawks! I am so glad they got ATL now they have to fly across America again. Go Flacons!!!!! |

We lost and that is all that matters. However, it's hard not to give up big yards when a non injured QB has a 80 yard and 54 yard drive and after the injury..... drives of 13, 3, 23, 4, 17 and -19. |
So I check pft today and they are saying the skins fear that griffs injury is worse this time around.. fml. Good morning to me, oh and that Fletcher may have played his last game yesterday..
Torn MCL is what I heard |
Re: Seahawks 24 Skins 14 post game thread
On The Knee - Shanny made a gut call and all but admitted he was wrong. In doing so, he seems to have considered the right factors (how is he playing, what's the med. staff saying, what's the athlete saying). The man has more experience with injured players than anyone on this board - I think he has earned the right to go with his gut.
As to the season - Wow. These last 8 weeks have been a great, great ride. We won the division, swept Dallas, made Tony Romo cry ... Thank you Skins! As someone else said, this crazy train is just starting to roll. Climb on board and enjoy the ride. |

We're getting off easy if that's all it is. Hope the ACL isn't involved too. |
Torn MCL is what I heard
If so, while not good, a torn MCL is not nearly as damaging as a torn ACL. Depending on the severity, surgery on a torn MCL may not even be necessary.
On average, it takes six weeks for a MCL injury to heal. The initial treatment for most grade 1, 2 or 3 MCL tears focuses on reducing the pain and inflammation in the knee while immobilizing the knee to keep it stabilized. ... If the torn ligament does not heal sufficiently, you may experience instability in the joint, and you will be more susceptible to re-injury. The MCL usually responds very well to non-surgical treatment, although surgery may be required in rare cases. Depending on the severity of the injury, a period of rest, bracing and physical therapy usually is sufficient to heal the tear. Once the MCL has healed fully, you should have a minimum of long-term effects, providing there was no other damage to the knee. Recovery times differ depending on the severity of the injury: •A minor, or grade 1, MCL tear can take from a few days to a week and a half to heal sufficiently for you to return to normal activities, including sports. •A grade 2 tear can take from two to four weeks to heal. •A grade 3 tear usually takes from four to eight weeks to heal, unless it is associated with damage to the ACL, in which case the recovery time may be longer.
MCL Tear Treatment | Conditions & Treatments | UCSF Medical Center As long as the ACL is not injured, I think all will be fine. |

Not too bad I guess |

Dan Graziano does some good work for ESPN, and he hit another home run with this blog.
You know what? 6 in one hand a half dozen in the other. If RG3 finished the game with the injury and had won, then Shanahan would be applauded this morning for making such a gutsy call. If the doctors said that he was physically unable to play, I find it very very unlikely that Shanahan would have ignored that. |
Re: Seahawks 24 Skins 14 post game thread
Griffin knows how to rehab(done it once before), he was clearly trying to push through it. The biggest question will be how much he has learned about protecting himself, and only next season will let us know.

Re: Seahawks 24 Skins 14 post game thread
Just like Mike Vick, I think it's in his DNA to play the way he does.
