Personally I don't buy that Manning will force the Colts hand and prevent them from drafting Luck but we'll see. And I don't think Luck or RGIII are the only viable solutions at QB either.

I know this...we're going to get a very good player at 6 or wherever we end up. The possibilities at 6 are loaded with studs. Seems like a pretty top-heavy draft. They real key to this draft is what happens with RGIII.

If Luck, RGIII and Blackmon are gone by the time the skins pick, I say trade down draft David DeCastro (beast G) and with the other pick a CB. Pick Foles in the 2nd. DeCastro is the type of guard this team needs, wonder why Stanford's is so good in the running game?
Seems that the word is they are very high on Tannehill to begin with, so it really wouldn't be settling if they were getting their guy in the end.

Moving up to grab Luck or RGIII is going to be costly, and what if Cleveland is fine with sitting there and taking RGIII? I'm not even really thinking about Luck. Just doesn't seem possible.
I could see this. Either picking Blackmon or trading down some slots to draft someone else, then sliding back up to take Tannehill. I agree, the cost of trading up will be significant and I'm not sure we'd be willing to gamble that much.
6th pick going to Rams as part of deal for Bradford. Fisher gets some ammo to build around RG3 when he's ready to take over for Peyton Manning
Part of? I would like to think that's pretty much the entire deal. He can't be worth much more then that off the 1st 2 years he's had. I still love him but I would think his value has to be a little lower then it was when he entered the league.

Knowing how the NFL works, Mike Shanahan is no doubt aware that he will likely be fired if the Redskins do not improve significantly in the win column next season. Now he faces the dilemma of the Coach/GM. As GM, he's building a team but he's not in a position where he can start a rookie QB because, as HC, he'll be fired if he has a poor season in 2012.

Basically, he messed up by not drafting his Franchise QB candidate before now. Now, the answer is probably going to be acquiring a good young QB with NFL experience or a stopgap veteran, either through FA or trade.

Shanahan is definitely scrambling to get a QB. We'll see what happens next.

Me either. Manning has no leverage whatsoever. He's under contract and really can't say shit about what the team does. All he could do is request a trade or be cut and that's about it. The team doesn't have to oblige him in any way, and really shouldn't if they were smart.

A couple of little points:

Blackmon is a TO-Boldin type of WR, I wouldn't mind having him, but at the end of the day I think he will be gone And more importantly we will address whats more important to us, QB.

I think that with all this talk about Luck and "Oh we could get him possibly if..." He's going to Indy. Why do people assume that he and Peyton cant and dont want to play together? It's all assumption that I think some one brought up as a possibility which snowballed.

And while we're on Luck, my neighbor whose a huge skins fan emailed one of those NFL draft guys and asked him if he'd give up 3 first rounders for Luck if he were the Redskins.
The guy said he'd probably give up 4...

I also think we should draft Kellen Moore. I feel like regardless of who we get, we draft and develop Moore, and with his knowledge, he could be a great backup that when he gets into games he could be a lot like...Matt Flynn, and possibly help us in terms of trade value down the road, like Flynn could help the packers should they franchise him instead of Finley.

Also, That stanford Ok st game had a LOT of pro prospects playing. DeCastro, like I said in the other thread, is said to be the best guard since steve hutchinson. Sadly I love Chester and Lichtensteiger as our guards, however, IF Korey is fully healthy, AND we aren't completely sold on Montgomery, we should definitely take a long look at DeCastro as our new LG and Licten as our C.

And Johnathan Martin stanford OT is someone who could be linked to us, not that we get him, but for the fact that we trade our pick to St. Louis for maybe Bradford and they get Griffin at 2 and Martin at 6.
Newsflash...their defense has always been very talent-poor. Due to the stud ends who kept them competitive and the fact that teams had to play from behind so much they were able to hide the fact that their defense was mostly junk for the last decade.
C'mon dude.
Isn't talent poor and 'stud ends' in the same sentence the definition of contradiction?

Anyway, did you even read what I wrote before you posted a knee jerk reaction?
Freeny, Mathis, Bethea, Angerer= talent poor?

"Mike Shanahan has built a good offensive line and defense in Washington—now he needs his quarterback.

In the past, Shanahan has targeted athletic quarterbacks who can get outside the pocket and make plays. He likes players who aren’t afraid to take chances but have the accuracy to pick apart a defense underneath. John Elway and Jay Cutler are his type of players."

Since all of our desired players in the first round will be picked by the time the skins pick at #6, I'm hoping management is smart enough to trade down and pick one of these 2 guys. Our OL would be transformed over night with either.

I'm not as high on Martin as I am with DeCastro.
